Y’all might think I’m insane but I enjoy this. Just bought a Losi LMT used for a great deal and took it all apart by hand. Cleaned everything, greased all the gears, and then did this to the body. I spent about 4 hours putting the drywall tape on and cutting it to perfectly match the body contours cause I’m OCD like that. Then used e6000 instead of shoe goo. After full curing it’s rock solid and has been performing great.
Great job. IMO that is the best mod you can do for a lexan body. All of mine have held up extremely well that I have either shoe goo'd or used the E6000 on. Nice coverage video !
I seen exocage rc put these glues to the test and e6000 was the strongest then shoe goo, there was a 3rd I can't remember the name and gorilla glue came in last surprisingly
Thx for the video😃👍. An instructor once told me: " your freetime is as valueble as your hourly wage." So f.e. doing this with an wage of 30$/h would be a body that cost over 290$ incl the supplies. I also thought about this upgrade, once i do the move to buy an xmaxx, but now im not so sure anymore.
I have yet to do this. From watching videos where others have done it, it seems to help the body ladt quite a bit longer. What your time is worth to you is a personal thing, so that's for you to decide. Duh. I'm planning on doing it to my Wraith Spawn body. Mostly because I'm wanting to cut the hood out and hinge it to make it easier to access the front where I'm wanting to try and move the battery to. I like that the body doesn't use body clips on the Wraith but it's screwed on along the bottom and I don't want to have to unscrew it every time to deal with the battery. Mostly thinking outloud here, so to speak. Anyway good video.
Love the rock n roll body bud. 👍 That's why it took me a while to find a m41 in same colour. 👍 It defo a mucky job so well done bro 👍 nice info an video. 👍 🤠🇬🇧👌
I’ll be home tomorrow and I’ll be putting together a video with the footage I got out there with him and saying what I got but I’ll say this. It’s not the fox.
Currently doing my x maxx and that shoe goo stuff is so thick. Hard to apply without the tape coming off or moving. Tried heating up the glue to about 110 degrees and it made it a bit more runny but it soon cooled and started to pull the tape again
@@BarstoneRC Currently applying drops of superglue to hold the tape down wherever it comes loose. Seems to help a bit. Still making a mess of it though. I hope I can still fit the roll cage and the other plastic supports without too much trouble when Im done.
I bought everything from New Dollar General glue gun and came with 25 glue sticks and drywall type spent $2.20. I heard the spray body liner is easier & stronger?? What radio are U using is the Rugged?? Link please also subbed
I’m using the DX5C by spectrum Spektrum DX5C Smart 5-Channel DSMR Transmitter with SR6100AT, SPM5120 www.amazon.com/dp/B07XTH77KY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4CHFNEG89KS9VZQG647X thanks for the sub bud I appreciate it
I’ve personally never used it, I’ve heard it works really well also but honestly I’m liking the flex seal tape it’s quicker it’s easier and it works really well
Traxxas tough baby lol Edit: What I do is I put A bunch of shoe goo in weak spots and I make the body really heavy and very thick and then They never break
Like you, I have never used the shoe goo and drywall tape. I have used a glue gun to put a bead in tight areas on my kraton, and gorilla taped the rest of it, but man doing all this takes a long time. I am interested to hear your thoughts after a while. Great video.

I did this awhile ago to my daughter's rustler shell. Amazing how long it last afterwards. When I rode bmx shoe goo was a life saver
Your content is Very entertaining, keep doing your thing
Thanks buddy I appreciate it

I almost bought the E 6000 when I was at the store but I decided to try the original method first and then maybe give that stuff a try next time.
I seen exocage rc put these glues to the test and e6000 was the strongest then shoe goo, there was a 3rd I can't remember the name and gorilla glue came in last surprisingly
Good to know. Thanks bud
I spent 15 on Amazon 5 for the drywall tape and 10 for e6000 the chalk gun size
Good job!!!👍...and very informative. Thanks, mate! Take care 🙂
Thanks buddy you to!!

Personally, I would never do this again. It was way too time-consuming and a major pain in the butt. I’ve never done another body sense.
This works for any body folks
Yeah and I’ll never do it again lol
@@BarstoneRC lol but it saves money if you're racing
Can't wait to see how it hold up.👍
Me to man lol. Me to.
Enjoyed the videos with Earl and yourself 👊🏻
Thanks bud we had a great day!! Lots of fun
Did the shell last much longer in the end?
No, not really, and it takes way too much time to do that process
@@BarstoneRCrecommend buying spare body or reinforce different way?
@richardfox3924 I just run the body till it’s completely falling apart and then replace it

Yeah it’s definitely some work and takes time but if it holds up really well then I guess it’s worth it.
@@BarstoneRC 😉 👌
anxious to know what rc ya picked after bashing w Earl. My guess would be that Fox one
I’ll be home tomorrow and I’ll be putting together a video with the footage I got out there with him and saying what I got but I’ll say this. It’s not the fox.
ok Thankyou. now im thinking 8s Outcast. I been wanting one
Try the dollar store for cheaper products. Jumbo tube of shoe goo 4$ and glue gun 3$ with glue sticks, Wal-Mart drywall tape 2$.
I think you should do 8s out cast build with coke can motor you will like it more when you build it 😉
Man I drove Earls 8S outcast coke can build and it was a blast!!
@@BarstoneRC I saw you drive it you had fun you should build one 😉
NEED UPDATE.. WAS IT WORTH SPENDING THE MONEY ON THE SUPPLIES AN TIME IT TOOK?? OR SHALL WE JUST REPLACE BODIES??? LETME KNOW THANKS…. 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
I would never do it again it’s too much time the flex seal tape works great
👍👍
I patch repair this way to save cost 👍👍
Not a bad idea also.

Did the new body come with the bash plate on the roof? Been looking for that part myself 👍 hope goo works well ✌️
Yeah the new body actually came with that already on it.
Man you were an hour and a half away in California I would bashed with you guys maybe next time lol
I’ll be coming out here more often now so we will have to meet up
Does e600 work instead of shoogoo?

Well with all the shoe goo and drywall tape and this thing the body is definitely heavier lol
Super dope body
Thanks bud
Curious if anyone has ever tried coating the inside with Herculiner. 88$ for a gallon. Should coat at least 8-10 cars!
I know people used bedliners in different stuff I’ve heard some of it works good and some of it cracks and flakes off I guess?

Yeah it’s a lot of work and it better hold up very well for the time and money in it. If not I’ll never do this again lol
Update?
Personally would never waste my time doing this again
Ty for the video
I wish I known this 20 body's ago
Lol give it a try
Doing the same to mine but with gorilla glue
Let me know how it turns out man!
@@BarstoneRC meh it’s ok it doesn’t feel as if it is gonna do much
You got ripped off for 50 bucks. Only cost me like 25 to do the same thing
Well, between purchasing everything, glue gun and all the materials that’s about what it cost for the first time, at least where I live

Yeah, this is one mod I will never waste my time doing again lol
