- We go back to the farm that inspired us to raise pastured poultry! We talk to Primal Pastures about their egg layer production, lambs and pigs they raise on pasture. We also talk about the battle they are going through right now with the conventional farmers in the area. Click "SHOW MORE" for links!

About:
Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life. We became passionate about growing our own food and knowing what exactly is in our food after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our passions.
We document our life on RUclips videos to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and not be afraid of change. We started our own online general store where we have available the things we make and use in real life. Thank you for following us on this incredible life changing journey!

Thanks for taken us on the tour Jason and see the "roots" of your journey. LOL! have a great day! :)
Incredible way to raise chickens and collect the eggs. Pigs are cute.
That dog looks so happy. The way she was staring at him melted me 😍
Hello from Norway. Nice video 👌👍
Hi... Jason nice to see you keep it up and keep smiling and keep sharing your video, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🐔🐓🐥🌱🎥👍👍👍
Thanks Jason for the tour of Primal Pastures! To me, it's really an update on how they're doing because I've seen this place before on other RUclips homesteaders and it looks like they're doing very well! Thanks again to you and your family!
Our family has been watching your channel for a while and you should have seen the reaction my boys had when they heard you say Murrieta CA. We are just over the hill in Rainbow and they are dying that you guys are so close. ❤
Epic!
I used to work there and helped them develop from a small scale to the larger coops you see there now. It is definitely the best way to raise chickens and those guard dogs are the best.
Great video Jason. Man that's a ton of eggs lol. Bless you guys!
Excellent video! Very informative. Just love Sow the Land channel!
thanks!
The washing of the eggs removes all or almost all the egg cuticle, depriving it of a natural barrier against microbes. As a chef if i receive washed eggs i immediately send them back i cannot take the risk to poison someone with salmonella.
Bleach wash and scrub removes the bloom, not a simple water rinse
Can't wait until the quarentine is over. We are planning to go visit once things are opened up again.
Can't wait either!
Love,love,love!

Great information, wonderful video! Thank you... 👏🥰 Will share this, to help bring awareness-- 👍🐓💞🐖
I LOVE this!!! We lived in SoCal and couldn’t find many healthy options, so cool this exists now! Amy’s Farm in Ontario was our place. If you ever go back, it’s a cool visit, different kind of farming. Thanks for sharing Jason!
we used to visit amy's often. thanks!
Wish I was there! What an inspiring operation. Thans for sharing.
Come out for a tour sometime!
Living only 45 minutes away fro. Murrieta I am very familar with the area. I find it so hard to relate to your lack of being touched to be back in California. I found Lorraine to be much more sentimental about being back than you. Having moved away once some 2,000 miles I found myself coming back 4 times in less than 2 years! Each and everytime I left a depression set in because I did not want to leave. Ultimately I returned to California and.never considered.leaving again.
I live about 50 miles from there. We will have to check it out when we go that way for Antiquing and wine adventures this fall...
Awesome video --- Primal Pastures have it going on!! Good to see.
Thank you!
Amazing! Primal Pastures is the bomb! I just may order some of their delicious eggs! Thanks for taking us along! Blessings from NE Missouri!
