Adam, real nice EDF. Unfortunately, I hear about more problems with this size and make model from others. I hope those who have them report their findings so they can get a fix in the works. Beautiful flights. Maybe in time we'll see one of these in your hangar. 😉
I did a similar thing with the habu ss 50mm got the stocker to learn the aircraft traits . Im now putting together a 4s version with hotter motor an xfly 50mm edf . Adam your review of the little habu got me watching the channel ...Awesome mate well done 👏
Thanks for sharing this really beautiful plane. It has such a great presence in the air and looks like it flies on rails. I appreciate how you bring so many unique aircraft to the channel to highlight that I don't get the opportunity to see locally.
Nice video Adam, the blue camo looks great in the air. I think AeroFoam makes some good aircraft. Though at the price, one would hope for less "hiccups" with the plane. Would be great to see a good priced 70mm L-39 fromm them. AirHammer out!!
I have written a very extensive manual for this jet, the EBEC has settings that need to be checked and the power to the receiver has to be at 6.6v This jet was set up at 7.4v
Wow…whatta jet Adam. I know this sounds silly but it reminds me of my favourite 1st jet which i still have, the E-flite Viper. Nowhere near as powerful but so much fun to fly. Great flights & footage. Many thanks.
You'd think a thousand dollar plane would be trouble free. Love the L-39 style. Since I am a little more budget conscious I bought the Flyfans K-8, and I am going to add the wingtip tanks(?) off an Arrows T-33 to get that same look :)
Great video Adam!! I absolutely love my L-39. They just fly so good and have no bad tendencies. Would love to talk to Ken about his issues since I’m having a slight issue with my gear doors, thanks for another top quality video 👊🏼👊🏼
I'm doing the same! I have the blue camo EDF version and the green camo v1 turbine version. I have turbine lag programmed into my radio for the EDF. Soon I will be adding an idle up switch to simulate the idle thrust of my turbine version. These really are sweet flying planes and look so much better than the tailless turbine trainers.
Great flight MODEL AV8R.I just got the same airplane last week and i am waiting for this mid-west weather to break.what was your adverage throttle setting for the whole flight? Thanks Guy
Thanks man! I was cruising between 55 and 65% throttle mostly. It is tough on the batteries. 3 min. timer even using throttle management. Great flyer though!
Hey Kevin! I have flown a turbine, but I don't have a waver or own one. No video footage unfortunately. I plan to stick with the EDF's. Turbines are great, but dang they are pricey.
I fly the turbine version. It is a nice handling airplane and lands slow. I did not like the kit electronics and ended up replacing the servos and gear controller, before it left the shop.
What is your opinion on flight simulator? Is it useful, misleading, worthwhile? I have gotten pretty good with all different types of models on simulator and am starting to think im ready to get my first plane and transmitter but im not sure if ive been mislead lol.
Simulators are great tools for learning orientation and the basics of control. They are also good for getting the hang of more advanced aerobatics when the right plane is chosen. The physics are not very accurate on all of the models on any sim, but there are always some where they are very close. Just make sure you choose a dedicated trainer as your first actual plane...something like a Aeroscout S or Apprentice from Horizon Hobby. They have a program called SAFE to help get you out of trouble when you're new.
Its gonna take some time to select the right plane. I started age 10 in the 90s with nitro boats/trucks/planes- I tried a nitro "sturdy bird" i got used on ebay. Whoever built it must have used too small of an engine. I learned takeoffs and landings on the street at my house and when my dad first took me to the field to fly it I struggled to keep it 15ft in the air until I hit a baseball backstop. I had gliders and electrics too. I will look into the planes you mention thanks alot!
Hey MODEL AV8R my L39 is sitting on a stand holder with the landing gear in the down position. Why does my landing gear retrack up when i turn on the transmitter (IX12) and plug in the receiver battery?
That gear controller can do that. I replaced mine with a JP Hobby ER-120 gear door controller and set up the gear door sequencing with my radio. It was about 22.00 shipped and arrived in about 10-12 days.
@@haroldanderson6021 Hey Harold ,does the Jp ER-120 allow the main gear doors to go up while the main gear stays down? Also will the nose gear door stay open! Thanks
@@leejimerson3354 The ER-120 V1 keeps the doors open while the gear are down. The ER-120 V2 closes the doors after they come down so neither one can control all the doors. I like being able to adjust all the timing so I only use the gear controller part of the ER-120. I would recommend the V2 because if your radio can't easily do door sequencing you can put delays in to control the front door. The mains are a little trickier. If you use an OpenTX radio I can send you the programming with the timing and there are examples on RUclips.
Great job on a maiden. This jet slows down fast with flaps deployed. I also have the Aerofoam MB-339, very nice flyer. Unlike the L-39, the MB is a floater and very forgiving. I did have a flap servo fail on the third flight of the 339…Aerofoam is not Freewing quality yet…but it is getting there.
Real nice flying now that I am just getting started with the Habu 50mm had 4 good flights in today working my way up slowly great videos
Thanks man! The EDF journey is a fun one!
Looks awesome in the air.
It does!
That sound though... 🤤
I know right!
Brilliant video Adam, full of info and fun. That bird. Certainly sounds and looks scale i the air.
Thanks Chris! It does!
GR8 video guys!!!
Thanks so much Joel!
Very nice Adam what a beauty. Looks like a really fun jet👍
It is pretty nice, the electronic issues are a bummer, but when it works its great!
Adam, real nice EDF. Unfortunately, I hear about more problems with this size and make model from others. I hope those who have them report their findings so they can get a fix in the works. Beautiful flights. Maybe in time we'll see one of these in your hangar. 😉
Hey Brad! Yeah man its a nice plane, but I'm with you...hope they get the bugs worked out.
Gorgeous amazing sound 😍
It is! Lot of power there.
Great video Adam! I have the Freewing L39 and absolutely love it! Keep up the great work my friend 👍
Thanks Ken! These L-39's fly great!
Really like the look of the L-39.. The sound of that EDF is really impressive too.. Thanks for sharing the fun fly videos.. I enjoy them quite a lot..
Thanks Will! It does howl doesn't it...
Adam nice flying with the Aerofoam L39 which looks like a nice flyer and sure looks great, zoom zoom zoom Jeff in LA USA
Thanks Jeff! It is a fine flyer!
Beautiful plane ! , awesome flying , in the bonus footage the camo works great in the blue sky
Thanks man!
Great little demo of the L39. Sounds great in the air for sure. My 120mm HSD T-33 has that rich sound in the air.
Thanks David! Yes the sound is amazing!
I did a similar thing with the habu ss 50mm got the stocker to learn the aircraft traits .
Im now putting together a 4s version with hotter motor an xfly 50mm edf .

Thanks Tony! Really appreciate your support !
Fantastic EDF Jet!! Looks and sounds so cool, great flying too Adam 😀👍
Thanks Ian!
Almost sounds real, Adam! Super flight!
Thank you miss Gina! It does...
An impressive looking and sounding EDF scale model of a classic jet, nice scale flying style Adam.
Thanks Dave!

Thanks man! Yes...seems like a few too many issues for the price.
Nice looking jet! Sounds nice, nice flight! ☠Semper Fi !
Thanks man! It does sound the part!
Man what a plane. Sounded so good even on camera. Loved it. Out of my league, but fun to watch. Thanks
Thanks man, Ken really likes it!

It is a cool piece of kit Noel. The camo is similar to the Viper.

Ahh smart idea in the K8. I agree, expensive jet shouldn't have these issues.
The voltage to the receiver was set up wrong. It should be set to 6.6v and not 7.4v
Very nice plane! That EDF sounds very " jet-like"! In case you don't know, there are a couple of real L-39s and L-29s based at Newnan now.😎👍
It does Keith, and thanks man...I did not know that!
