This lecture traces the most familiar themes and story elements of the legend of King Arthur--including chivalry, courtly love, the Round Table, the Holy Grail, Excalibur, Merlin, Lancelot, and Gawain--from their first appearance in the literature to Sir Thomas Malory's 1485 edition of Le Morte D'Arthur.
