I read the manual for 2 weeks because I was away on vacation right after getting it. I was 7 years old, saw the film in theatres, had all the toys. I was obsessed.
Dude, your energy during the last Kong fight had my hyped af. That's exactly how I always felt playing this as a kid. This game unironically went so fucking hard. If ever there was a game in need of a remaster, this would be it
I only knew about the sniper zoom, because its a rifle with a big ol' sight on it. The rest it didn't even cross my mind. Didn't matter either, I was a crackshot firing from the hip after playing the game so many times
Best movie licensed game since goldeneye. I remember driving my mom crazy by making jack repeat the "no magazines on backup" line over and over again. I hope there's a remaster someday for console
God this brings back memories, played this with my cousin in Kentucky when i was just weee tot. Damn bugs gave me nightmares for the next couple of days
He has played it before, you can dig through his VOD playlists but as my good buddy (a random internet person) said, he doesn't play it much since its not that good of a stream game due to needing focus to succeed and J likes a game where he can look/interact with Chat while playing.
this game did a beautiful thing most games about being a huge thing don't do, which is give you perspective on how big you are. you have to play as the guy before you can play as kong, and you see how big the things kong lays the smake down on before you do it. a lesser game would have it indistinguishable if you were a giant gorrilla fighting regular t-rexes, or a regular gorilla fighting small t-rexes.
Man, this game was surprisingly good when it came out. And the graphics at the time blew me away with how detailed they were(and the raptors are still horrifying to this day).
This game was fun, I remember that you could unlock a way to save Kong at the end where you shoot down the planes. I think there was also a mirror mode which would mirror the stages.
I loved this game as a kid, I even had the cheat code book for it. One of the oddest memories I have of this game is getting the infinite spear cheat code, that for some reason would allow you to throw spears during cutscenes and I would make people look like porcupines with the amount of spears I had thrown in them.
Some of the smaller details in this game are awesome like when you were in the River and the gun was being held above your head. Imagine a remake of this
Watching this, seeing JFJ play the King Kong parts, I now realize something. This game wasn't hard when I was a kid, I just sucked at games. Some things just never change, ahaha... Wait...
I used to play this game when I was younger and remember being terrified of the raptor fights. Thanks for uploading this on my birthday, amazing gift to watch and remember.
It sucks that this game won’t be remastered due to copyright licensing. Imagine how good it would be with updated graphics, tweaked controls, better Kong camera, and more accessibility for FOV and such.
Man, I remember getting this game way back when I got my first wii. It was a gamecube game, but this was when the wii had backwards capability. This game was...so much fun, even though it was a little janky at times. Disc had seen better days. But I remember having a BLAST with it and I am very happy to see how much Jfj seemed to enjoy it. It was a good game, especially for its time, and even to this day if ya can, I recommend giving it a play. Cheers Jfj~.
I remember when Game Informer published an issue about this game and one of the developers commenting how they wanted the Kong levels to be just absolute balls-to-the-walls fun that contrasted with the human survival aspect. They did a great job with that. Playing as Kong was always the highlight of this game.
The best thing about this video is that you forget the flapping cat is on the right-hand side of the screen every time there's an awesome action sequence, and then the second it's over, it draws your eye back to it 🤣
This is fcking awesome! I played this game when I was just a Kid and I absolutely loved it, it was a shame because anyone made any video of the game, but here you are enjoying the sht out of it!
I have cold sweats and dreams of this game from when I played it years and years ago and seeing J play is uncovering a part of my brain I thought I didn't have
I remember watching my brother play this when I was little, and all I remember is the part where you reach the gate while holding your rifle above your head in the water, and King Kong killing a dinosaur by snapping its jaw open in the first mission you play as him.
As of right more there is still 15 hours left of the plushie

Jack black is a man beyond mortal limitations, so yes he could.
As a man who hasn’t watched the video yet, this intrigues me
He alongside Kyle Gass defeated the devil

Almost dry
Tyrion is just rocking out on the side of the screen like the good cat he is.
I'm so glad the game was terribly ported, I wanted the maximum Tyrion
I remember thinking this had the best graphics ever back in the day
I loved throwing the spears and have them stick into the enemies and think "Woah, it even keeps the spears in the enemy rather than fade away..."
Right? Had this on an old JamPack (demo disc). The shit looked real as fuck back then.
Shit I played this game so much as a kid. I repeated the beginning so many times for some reason that seeing the beginning hit hard in my nostalgia
This was pure fun i played so much with my brother i dont remember on what console tho
@@wildparrot3802 Ps2?
This game freaked me tf out when I was a kid, but still a gem.
Me too, especially those fucking big raptors
In the movie didn’t someone get vored to death by leaches?
Same, even the first cave scared the hell out of me. Honestly an amazing game at the time.

Its honestly nice to see someone playing this game. I always thought it was one of those rare examples of a genuinely good Movie Licensed games.
I give this a 7/10 magazines on backup
that's not enough magazines on backup.
I'm noticing a theme with these games you've been playing recently.
jfj is returning to monke

Nostalgia just hit me like a freight train.
This game scared the hell out of me as a kid, especially the t-rex part.
Dude, your energy during the last Kong fight had my hyped af. That's exactly how I always felt playing this as a kid. This game unironically went so fucking hard. If ever there was a game in need of a remaster, this would be it
I like this game and I never knew you could aim down sights. I always thought you just fired from the hip
same lol
half life feels
also in the option you can actual turn on the ammo counter to see how much ammo you have.
Same
I only knew about the sniper zoom, because its a rifle with a big ol' sight on it. The rest it didn't even cross my mind. Didn't matter either, I was a crackshot firing from the hip after playing the game so many times
God, everytime I'm reminded that this game exists I'm just in awe. This game still holds up well considering its a movie game. Just... HYPE.
jfj when not monke: "two magazines on backup"
jfj when monke: *"G E T 8 6 ' D"*
6:56 That scream used to give me nightmares when I was little.
The most Aggressive “Return to Monke” I have ever seen.
this game is unironically super rad, if only it was made better

JFJ looked and sound like he was having the time of his life play this game
Playing like King Kong is fcking awesome, I completly understand him
I had the best time playing this game. but I haven't played for years. some real nostalgia came from this.
God this brings back memories, played this with my cousin in Kentucky when i was just weee tot. Damn bugs gave me nightmares for the next couple of days

You roaring in unison with Kong got me rollin 😂 I did the same thing as a kid
Looks way more fun and more polished than any of the AAA games to get releases in the past three years
God this game is my childhood, I played it so much.
I still play this from time to time almost 20 years after it came out, and I love seeing the love its been getting recently
I loved this game as a kid, I even had the cheat code book for it. I believe this is the most fun JFJ had due to the intense monke screaming
I have this for the OG Xbox and DAMN are those V-Rex chase segments terrifying, especially when I was a kid.

I used to play this game everyday on my first gamecube ever on a tiny disney mickey mouse television back in 2005, man does time fly
I like how the main thing I remember about this game was Kong breaking T-Rex jaws and that it came with a movie ticket.
I remember when I played this game when I was a kid. Man,the first encounters with those giant insects and crabs were nightmare fuel for me.
7:30 god my soul left my body
I still have this game for my og xbox and its fantastic to see the boi play it.

Me who played the entire game multiple times without knowing that you could aim: Scope?
The unadulterated primal fury that is the kong levels brings out the monkey in ALL of us
Giant spiders. That's the big thing I remember from this game. Like, the size of a man's head, and they always hang out in swarms.
I had a stroke reading that title.
Dude you just dug up memories i didn't even know i had.
Also, i remember it running better on OG xbox
I remember watching my brother play this when I was little, and all I remember is the part where you reach the gate while holding your rifle above your head in the water, and King Kong killing a dinosaur by snapping its jaw open in the first mission you play as him.
This man almost got chomped in the throat and just summoned primal rage to scream his way out
