    I noticed the video said calatheas don’t like getting their leaves wet however these plants thrive with humidity. I mist all of my calatheas daily and they love to stay damp, they are thriving!

    Any advice for getting only the bottom half of the soil watered? I have gnat issues and want to leave the top 2 inches of soil dried but want to make sure my plants are getting the water they need.

    At 1:40 the plant base is not going to be touching the water at all. What am I missing there?

    Thank you so much for this. I just started bottom watering my plants. I have so far used this method with my orchid, Hoya Hindu Rope, and Thanksgiving & Christmas Cactus. All are in 4” pots. I find it takes an hour plus before I feel any moisture in the top layer of soil (especially in terracotta and/or with orchid bark). Is this normal?

      So glad you're enjoying our videos!
      Don't fret! Different plants (and different growing mediums) take different amounts of time to suck up the water they need. As long as you don't leave them sitting in water for days on end they'll be fine!

    My plants don’t take 10mints to soak up the water till the top soil becomes moist. It almost takes an hour to soak up water and till the top soil is moist. For me it doesn’t depend on the size of the pot. 2 inch-10inch pots are taking almost an hour to become top soil moist. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. Where am I going wrong? Do I need to wait till the top soil become moist and then take them out of water or come what May I should pull them out of water after 10-15nints?? Please help

      Just feel the weight you will notice it begins to feel a lot heavier - top water once a month for dusting the leaves 🍃

    I have been bottom watering my plants for 4 months. I find that after 5 days, my plants are bone dry. Should I bottom my plants until the water reaches the top?

    • @PlantsinaBox

      Watering conditions change depending on the season too, if its hot out they will dry out more quickly! But we find its best to leave your plants soaking, or bottom watering for up to an hour so they can really take up all the water they need.

    Plants don't like getting their leaves wet? So what do they do in the wild when it rains? Cry?

    How do you know if the plant had enough water? How long do you let it sit in the water for?

    • @PlantsinaBox
      @PlantsinaBox  Год назад

      You are only adding a very small amount of water so the plant takes only what it needs approx 1inch of water.

      Dear mam
      For indoor plants like peace lily is it possible to do every day watering from bottom for once a week

    • @PlantsinaBox
      @PlantsinaBox  Год назад

      @@surajgaikwad8092 you can leave a little bit of water in the base less than an inch of water, and that will be fine for a week. Just don't leave a lot of water in the base otherwise you will get root rot.
