I love love love the last tip! Since I started buying pretty everyday items I love doing housework. I got this cute container for all my go to cleaning supplies that I can just grab and take with me around the house and I can’t stop finding spots to clean since having it haha
I have been wearing a uniform for almost 4 years. I work in a professional setting so my work uniform is dark slacks, patterned blouse (usually vintage) and a dark blazer. My casual winter uniform is straight leg yoga pants and a sweater. My summer casual uniform is long flowing skirt and fitted top.
I have to just tell you you are so incredible! I'm married with four kids and I found you last weekend when my husband sent me off to a hotel for a break. He's the best! I am learning such amazing things from you. Thank you for all the work that goes into filming, editing, and uploading these videos. Who you are and how you live is such a tremendous gift. Thank you so much for creating!
I did notice having my work bag always packed next to the door helps so I have more time to enjoy breakfast/coffee in the morning. Great habit that actually works!
My favorite tip. Friday or Sunday clean out your handbag. Get all the wrappers, receipts, and other clutter out of it and have a nice uncluttered handbag ready for the weekend (or the week) ahead. The thing that we "bought cute" is our cutting board. I'm not sure that it's "cute" exactly, but it's these cool looking strips of different kinds of wood. I just love it.
It's just my husband and I. I came from a large family. I cook big. We eat out of it; then I put in freezer safe containers from Sam's and label. These are great for my husband to have a healthy lunch to take to work. May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
Yes!! I bought a $30 bread box 🙈 but it’s that retro feel which i LOVE! It’s also really large so i can fit a LOT of bread products inside. I needed one anyways. You’re exactly right! When you love the things in your home it makes you WANT to use them. Thank you for these tips! I’m a momma of two kiddos. We’re past the toddler stage now, my youngest just turned 4. This is all really great practical advice for anyone to use. Be blessed!
I do most these things, but the car vacuum!?? That’s genius! I keep my car incredibly clean with three children, but having a vacuum on hand is a fantastic idea!!
I have a nest of chopping boards that were on my registry when we got married; nearly 12 years later their bright colors still bring me joy. Also please really cherish your children while they’re tiny because my eldest (of four) is 9 and I can’t quite believe where the years have gone.
Love this!! As a fellow homemaker with little kiddos these are great tips! My favorite is getting the little vacuum for the car! You are so right! I have a small shop vac but after you get the extension cord out and lug it from side to side of the car it’s just a lot of work 🤣 but a little vacuum like that would be so much easier to vacuum each day quick vs the once a week hassle!
My husband and I were gifted beautiful French style salt and pepper grinders from Fletcher's Mill for our wedding and we love them. They're classic looking and are great for everyday use or during a formal meal.
In case anyone else is wondering, the cleaner tab packaging from Blueland is compostable :) I was concerned that I would be trading plastic waste for lots of little wrapper waste...but they have thought of everything!
Awww, you just reminded me that I need to go to the main street exchange! I haven't been since they moved to Lancaster. I call in my "mommy uniform" but I like how you call it "getting things done but still looking cute outfits". Although I am a little too old to adopt the "cute" part lol ❤️💕💕
Hi Megan, I’m Meagan!! Just found your channel, this is the 2nd video I’m watching and I just subscribed. Just wanted to say that I too exclusively wear skirts and dresses, and it is so refreshing to see others do the same!!!
On the meat thing (vegetables too for that matter), many stores have clearance sales in the middle of the week (wed/thurs) where they take 50% (at least on most things) off on meats, veggies, yogurt, bread, butter, etc... The best time to get there for them (and sometimes you have to look for them) is normally between 10 and 11 in the morning.
Oh and on the potato soup... if I don't have ham I will use smoked sausage instead. I've even been known to use "leftover" bacon (I'll make too much and throw it in the freezer for later meals).
🙋🏻♀️ hi! This video seemed to go by so fast! After I watched, I checked to see if it was a very short video. 😆 it isn’t, I just was enjoying it that much! Love the tips! Thanks!
totally get the idea of a uniform, makes shopping so much easier. I have to say, you are my fashion inspiration :) don't worry I'm not cloning you but I love your style and I use it for the foundation of my style. Ive struggled for a long time to find a style that suits me and works for me so thank you. :D Great tips loved the video.
My sister gave me a beautiful glass cutting board that has flowers all over it . This was years ago I used it till my husband accidentally broke it , used it for years , I smiled every time I looked at it !
I’ve been gradually changing up my everyday items lately and buying pretty ones in their place... BUT. I tend to keep using the old items and displaying or storing the pretty things to keep them from getting worn/old! Am I the only one? Ugh. How to stop?! I tend to do this with clothing, shoes, utensils - you name it! It’s a great tip, I love surrounding myself with beautiful things, I just need to teach myself to actually start using them! :-P
I like the pretty European dish cloths and the glass spray bottles from Grove! I totally feel you on that tip for effectiveness. I’m so much more likely to clean things if my cleaning things are pretty! And I use Better Life cleaning products so they are safe for pets and kids. I just leave the spray bottle out on the counter like decor and then use it throughout the day.
I love using KOH as my universal cleaner, the cleaner can be used on all surfaces even glass which is amazing, and they send it with microfibre clothes too. Instead of tablets they send the solution in a carton and you just refill it from the carton. I also have their spray mop and its super duper easy to use, never going back to a steam mop again
Just today I found (1 Qt.) casserole pots at ALDI. Two for $9.99. White background with pretty spring flowers design. Stove top/oven proof. Perfect for one/two people. Looks so sweet sitting on my stove top.
Thank you Megan for another useful video... over here in the UK a lot of companies are moving towards " refills" instead of a whole new bottle.... I can then recycle the bottles if/when they need replacing. xx
Not a mennonite but definitely an old fashioned SAHM/50s type wife. I could probably fit into mennonite life quite well, anyway....I definitely do the mom uniform thing! Funny you should mention it! Love your channel. Love how you make homemaking a thing, because it IS. And it's kinda not mentioned a lot these days. Thank you for that!
I bought a pretty patterned broom and dust pan set some years back, and have wanted to another since then. It made sweeping just a little less disagreeable.
Great video......great tips! The soup looks delicious and the dark gray dress with the tie in the front is gorgeous on you. I loved that outfit! Have a blessed week!
I for sure understand the cute but getting things done clothes. That's how I pick my clothes. Plus I need farm clothes and so I love maxi skirts or dresses that look cute with leggings. That's my go to outfits right now.
I bought a beautiful dish soap dispenser at Marshall's that came with lemon scented soap and when I used it up I just filled it with regular dish soap that i use all the time. So I will have this pump dispenser for a long time and it makes me happy when I see it on the counter next to the sink
I bought a bamboo toothbrush because I thought it was prettier than the plastic ones. I’d like to hear your ideas on potty training. I need some fresh ideas for my three little ones. Great video! I’m going to look into a uniform for myself. Fantastic tip!
They're way better for the environment too :D. Just break of the head of the toothbrush and you can compost the handles when you're done! (The toothbrush heads usually have plastic bristles & can't be composted.)
3 little ones needing toilet training! 😱 Oh my busy Mum. I have just one who does not use the toilet. I just keep saying to myself that he should be there by 20.
I you’s China plates for our everyday plates. Also silver ware is the pretty. I have started on a Minimalist life style and I’m picking things that spark joy to see daily.....I only wish I would have started this sooner. It’s better with pretty things!
Hey, I thought you should know your closed captions aren’t on! So either you need to turn on auto-captioning/upload a caption file, or something is wrong!
Okay, I am so glad I found your channel because you are magical!! Im so excited to learn the tips you have for homemaking. You are an answer to my prayer for help! Cant wait to get better at this 💖 Thank you for sharing your god given talents with us!
Loved these tips! Aww I miss when you used to say favorite in the old way because those kind of things are what are so uniquely cute about a person. I started saying favorite in the way you used to say it because I like it so much and it makes more sense to say right about the things that are my faves so I swapped my way 🙂. THANKS for the wonderful tips and keep those those things that make you uniquely wonderful!
Hey Megan, Great video😊👍 Do you meal plan? I would like to see a video on meal planning if you do that sort of thing? Your amazing, keep up the great videos...love all you videos❣ God bless you and your family👨👩👧👧😊
Here watching and listening! Never been a great homemaker but I am looking to improve Super busy doing all kinds of activities growing up, band , traveling, teaching and just really never had time to concentrate on this area of my life until now .
I love your approach to fashion. I think we all have that habit of buying clothing because we like it, but it’s not practical and just sits! Good tips :)
To others it may not be pretty but I just bought a set of Mason jar salt & pepper shakers at HomeGoods. My reasoning is my son’s name is Mason! We have thrifted a slew of Mason jars that we use to drink out of when we celebrate Mason’s birthday so I thought it would be fun to have the salt & pepper shakers!
I am interested in Blueland but I have to do more research on them and what their formulas contain. I have a parrot and I have had to give up alot of my favorite cleaning supplies due to his delicate lungs I've also had to give up most candles..I wish there were more options out there. Great video 😊
My pretty thing is a vintage Fenton hobnail milk glass compote I thrifted from Goodwill. I put fresh fruit in it and whether it’s on the kitchen counter or my dining table it is so pretty.😘
This is me a year later needing some more inspiration/motivation for homemaking and I came and watched your videos on this again💕 such good ideas and I especially love the last one😉
My uniform was military fatigues for 5 years, including t he heavy boots.. Luckily, I could change into hospital scrubs 3 days a week. I need to check Pinterest for ideas.
I always buy pretty, I didn't know that people d o n ' t do that! 😁Most important pretty items for me are bedding, towels and kitchen appliances. Everyone seems to like Kitchen Aid food processors. I absolutely don't like the look of it and prefer a more clean looking one. Usually I like vintage looks but the Kitchen Aid... not for me.
I have a pretty salt and pepper grinder I love. I got them from a kitchen gadget store and yes they were a little $$$ but husband and I have been using them for over a decade.
My local grocery will have 10 lb burger for under $20 and 10lb chicken quarters for $5 i buy the big bags once a month and freeze in smaller portions I also tend to make up meatloaf ahead of time then I just defrost and chuck in thw oven on days I need easy meals
My uniform is black leggings- I have them in shorts, capris and long- and some sort of comfy shirt. If we are leaving the house, I’ll try to look more presentable lol
I am loving the modesty clothing we need it desperately in society 💕
After 33 years of marriage and practical salt & pepper shakers, I finally bought a beautiful set of polish pottery! Don’t wait as long as I did! 😆
I love love love the last tip! Since I started buying pretty everyday items I love doing housework. I got this cute container for all my go to cleaning supplies that I can just grab and take with me around the house and I can’t stop finding spots to clean since having it haha
Legit, JOSH has no idea how lucky he is ...homemade soup with all those ingredients.
Pro trick: you can watch series at InstaFlixxer. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Warren Logan Yea, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :)

I did notice having my work bag always packed next to the door helps so I have more time to enjoy breakfast/coffee in the morning. Great habit that actually works!
You're so right about buying pretty. I'm so much more motivated to clean, cook, and take care of things when things look nice.
My favorite tip. Friday or Sunday clean out your handbag. Get all the wrappers, receipts, and other clutter out of it and have a nice uncluttered handbag ready for the weekend (or the week) ahead.

I would love some recipes from you! 🙏

Having a hearing problem I always rely on CC. But today it’s not available. And, I love hearing what you have to say.
Love this!! As a fellow homemaker with little kiddos these are great tips! My favorite is getting the little vacuum for the car! You are so right! I am not Mennonite, but I resonate so much with your lifestyle and I’m in the same stage of life as you and I just absolutely love your videos!
My husband and I were gifted beautiful French style salt and pepper grinders from Fletcher's Mill for our wedding and we love them. They're classic looking and are great for everyday use or during a formal meal.
Something pretty, I bought beautiful kitchen towels! They did cost extra but I love them!
Buy what you love. If you don't love them don't buy them. 😃
In case anyone else is wondering, the cleaner tab packaging from Blueland is compostable :) I was concerned that I would be trading plastic waste for lots of little wrapper waste...but they have thought of everything!
This is so fun! My “uniform” is either skinny jeans or a denim skirt with a blouse and cardigan and either sandals or sneakers.
Oh my word- I’m excited about the blue land stuff! I just ordered the hand-soaps. I appreciate your tips very much. Thanks Megan! ❤️
Yay, always looking for things to make more use of time and resources as a SAHM! Love these videos!
Bought it pretty: I found a spring inspired dish drying pad at Hobby Lobby on sale and it really does bring me a little joy when I look at it.

I love the last tip! It's so so so true--just bring a little color/joy to your house for things that you absolutely need!
I only wear skirts and dresses too. Haven't owned pants in 5 years. So much easier than people think
I for sure understand the cute but getting things done clothes. That's how I pick my clothes. Plus I need farm clothes and so I love maxi skirts or dresses that look cute with leggings. That's my go to outfits right now.
That soup looks 👌. Thanks for sharing your housewife wisdom! 💛

Wow, the bag at the door is the one for me! 😃
Loved the "costume" tip. Such a great way to help find key pieces!! Thanks for another great video.

I love your approach to fashion. I think we all have that habit of buying clothing because we like it, but it’s not practical and just sits! Good tips :)
THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS ❤ THE SOUP THAT YOU made look so good ❤
Love your last tip--we waited a year for the right spice rack and myriad other little things to work in function and design. :)
I didn't watch the first one, but I'm here for the second. Out of order is fine right? 😂
Absolutely. But the first one is the 7 habits I do EVERY DAY! They're like the essentials!
Great theme for video's 🌹
I am interested in Blueland but I have to do more research on them and what their formulas contain. I have a parrot and I have had to give up alot of my favorite cleaning supplies due to his delicate lungs I've also had to give up most candles..I wish there were more options out there. Great video 😊
Hmmm, yes it feels mild, but you might want to research first!
Love this video. Thank you Megan. Be blessed.
My pretty thing is a vintage Fenton hobnail milk glass compote I thrifted from Goodwill. I put fresh fruit in it and whether it’s on the kitchen counter or my dining table it is so pretty.😘
love all your homemaking tips megan, thanks for your uplifting ideas. Leanne
Blueland shipping containers can be useful for orginazation of drawes ect...
This is me a year later needing some more inspiration/motivation for homemaking and I came and watched your videos on this again💕 such good ideas and I especially love the last one😉
Love the last advice 😊
Just love your channel. I am a 74 yr old senior. I have to use closed captioning to keep up at times. Please have it on your videos.❤️🙏
you can always slow the video down to if you need :)
@@BickyToya how? Will closed cap come on by slowing the video??
I think CC costs money. It’s wonderful if she can afford it 🤗.
Love your graphic tee with the blue cardi but didn’t see the link. In your description. Can you share? Thanks!!
The idea of 'buy pretty if you have to do it anyway' is shared in Judaism - Hiddur Mitzvah :) Good ideas are universal :) :)
Usually I like vintage looks but the Kitchen Aid... not for me.
I've been habitually more and more obsessed with her as the years go by. It's very interesting actually.
Also my salt and pepper shakers are basset hounds lol
Thanks for the video! I do a lot of these but not all. I can't seem to find the link for your handheld vacuum?
That mommy bag is super cute! Where did you get it?!
My uniform is black leggings- I have them in shorts, capris and long- and some sort of comfy shirt. If we are leaving the house, I’ll try to look more presentable lol
Love it! I just got a pretty napkin holder for my birthday, its marble, so pretty!
This was a great video. Thank you and I loved if you have to buy it buy pretty.
I'm curious what store has the first dress shown. I love the dark gray tie in front dress.
