Great video! When you said friction disk, I thought of the drive mechanism on snow blowers and older commercial Snapper push mowers. That's a new one on me.

One problem, there is, as you mention it. A woodruff key which stops the Friction plate from turning, it may be a good idea to make a mention of this. From bitter experience it's no problem
at all to loose it. Getting it back in, IF it comes out is exciting too, if you can find it !!!.. Good luck

@@markb1487 depends on the model.. some are held on with roll pins.. other have a bolt or a c clip

hi mick ive got a hayter56 autodrive es what i want to know is should the roller at the back be locked only it goes forward when i push it but locks when i pull it back its not running bearing in mind thanks mr. mowertorvator (mick) cheers
Yeah it should roll both ways.. cable adjustment or belt I would say
I think copper slip is what we call anti seize here. But I'm not sure. Good video Mick!

On reassembling the blade on the friction disc does it have to be realigned in any way with the holes and is there a torque setting for the central bolt or does it do up as tight as needed ie blade fully touching the friction disc and blade curving.
Any help is appreciated thanks.

Yes you have to line up the holes with the blade boss and the disc.. the blade must be seated with the blade bolt washer and done up tight.. should be up to 30foot lb

Hope everyone gets well. Been using breaker bar with cheater pipe from the beginning.
Then I woke up LOL Can't beet an impact wrench. I now feel lost without it.
Do you know if this mower you are working on is available in the States? I never ran across one.
I use the same procedure on snow blowers.

hi mick cant remove my blade on my hayter 56 es autodrive need it off to fix my cables replaced needs a good alround service to work properly as i intend to sell it get it working properly as im like you reparing mowers and get a buzz from making them work many thanks from mr . mowertorvator

@@themowerman when i get the right size socket it makes the flywheel go round when i try to undo it i need the blade to keep still so i can undo it but she s tight as a ducks ass hav got a good set of tools but not much knowhow can you help as this is a pain in the ass many thanks mr. mowertorvator say a big hi to rileyboy cheers
