As for me - if you want to loose weight and increase endurance , there is nothing better then running , cycling is also good but running will give more results in less time , injuries are more in running but running is also comparatively cheeper , 10km running = 20 km cycling , one can do both on alternative days
It's a matter of choice ultimately and what one enjoys more. Both running and cycling provide excellent cardiovascular workout! I personally like cycling more, coupled with swimming. Swimming is another excellent cardio workout which is really enjoyable too...
I combine cycling, & yoga.......5 days yoga( Surya namaskar) &2days cycling.... most important by cycling u can travel more distance & more place mainly non polluting areas nearby where u resident.
You missed one point and that is mind psychology, while running it is a constant thinking of doing an exercise so even though ur body is not tired, ur mind will get tired which will limit ur running but in case of cycling u travel and sometimes end up cycling more than ur daily targets
I totally disagree with that. It depends from person to person. For me, while running, my mind never thinks about running. It is more like meditation in motion. I get maximum ideas while running. In fact, after a run, the mind is rejuvenated like anything!
For those who can't run like me cycling is good because it's a part of traveling. If you are new to a place for study,jobs,etc. Cycling help you in both exercising and travelling. But be cautious about accident. It's not listed in the calendar.
I do both, running and cycling and I feel running is more impactful for your overall body balance and rythm. Running makes you strong. Where as cycling majorly impacts your lower body making it lean and for me it affects my body ratio. But having said that cycling is a great cardio exercise you can achieve in less time and cycling is more enjoying activity and adventure...
Both are good but if 10 km running = 30 km cycling in terms of Calories burnt, then Cycling is winner in terms of weight loss. I do both and normally do 60 - 120 km cycling on Saturday, but if I convert that to running then I need to run for 20-40 km, which is a half to full Marathan and will be generally impossible for me every weekend. Both are good and have their own benefits. Alternate them if possible. Also go for Intermittent Fasting and occasional Prolonged Fasting and reduce carbs in your diet, in addition to exercises.
I think running we will be stuck to a place...but in cycling you are havijg different locations geographies you are travelling along with going places...your mood get set along with exercise...
Running is not good in the longer term because your knees have to carry all your body weight, slowly your knees and bones will suffer from regular friction and shock. In cycling the seats, handle and pedal will absorb the shocks and body weight. When you reach a certain age shifting to cycling is a much better option
More than just cycling and running, it is important to focus on building muscles as well. That will prevent wear and tear of joints as well. It pays off to include pushups, pull ups and squats in your workout regimen!
Aaa I have tried both cycling and treadmill. I like stationary cycle as it needs really no preparation. You can even start in sandles. It burns more calories according to the display. 🤭 Only and only problem is seat is so painful to sit on...
Investment can not be taken for comparison. Coz once u r comparing the activity it's assumed u r ready for those i.e. investment is already done. Actually, it's more important to consider mental and physical stress, fatighue u undergone during the activity. In running u get more mental and physical stress also get fatigue but as u can enjoy nature, chat with friends with cycling, it helps to reduce stress. While running increases fatigue, cycling reduces it. Even solo cycling leads to meditation, which running can't provide. So overall impact is running is stressful but cycling reduces stress.
I do both and never compare them... sometimes 5x cycling per week, other week more running ... both of them are great but i have to say ... cycling especially with good weather gives me more positive endorphines. Enjoy whatever you are doing guys :)

I in favour of the scientific evidences. I prefer both cuz every exercises has their own pros and cons. How in one point I would not agree completely as for running I have asics pro gel that costed me 6k as I invested a bit more on the shoes so that to get better comfort and precaution against injuries, however I have recently purchased GOAT of all cycles that's typical Indian roadster cycle for 4.5k 22 inches frame and 28 inches wheel. The best cycle if one can keep the purpose for exercise in the first priority than looking cool and stylish on the roads also it doesn't stress out your shoulders and arms that easily cuz it has the best comfortable seating posture.
Cycling is more time consuming. You can achieve with one hour of running what you will get with three hours of cycling. I do both but my preference is running and cycling is for cross training.
bro eventhough its time consuming I dont want any motivation to start going for a cycle ride on any day and can cycle for longer time whereas while running I need motivation daily and will be tired of running in a less time. I consciously feel I am doing exercise while running but in cycling I just travel and enjoy
