I am excited for it. Really looking forward to it this summer but plan to put it to use before then!

Looks good! No matter how much I plan, measure, and think things through, seems like every single time I run into some unforeseen complication. 😆 Having a fridge is so nice, I know you’re gonna love it.

I always underestimate how long stuff will take to do. I figured I would knock it out in an hour or two. Between trips to the hardware store it took about half the day. I’m excited about the fridge. I get annoyed dealing with ice and the blue ice packs are only good for a day or two. This will be so much nicer!

Cool that you shared your journey of installing.

I’ve been loving it so far. Need to come up with a way to retract the power cord for the fridge it sometimes gets caught in the slide.

I keep thinking about a slide for my rig. This might have inspired me. Very nice DIY!

Me too. I am excited about it. A bit worried about the space. But I think I should be able to make to all work.

Roll some rhino liner onto that plywood to blend it... Love the rack install

I went with the "same" rear setup on my 2dr Rubicon which really helped with gear storage..

The Rack has helped so much. I should have done it 4 years ago.

I see your still camping inside your Jeep. I have a Freespirit Recreation Odyssey tent that I only used twice that I’d be willing to sell you. Rooftop tents transform your overlanding.

I appreciate the offer. Right now a RTT just doesn’t work with my setup. I am reliant on the rack to hold gear that I just don’t have the space for in the Jeep. Someday I’ll make a large setup change likely to a different vehicle with more space that will allow me to add a RTT.

    Good job!
Sorry if i missed it but where did you end up anchoring the end bit near the tail gate? 10:12 thanks

I ended up not anchoring the side end by the tailgate. I couldn’t find a way that worked easily. I ran it that way for a year no issues.

Hey Jared, can you tell us what the vertical distance is between the floor and the bottom of the cargo basket when installed? Trying to figure out how big a freezer I can put in the back of my '17 JK beneath that basket. Thanks ...

Nice install! I feel your pain, i have a 2014 JK, trying to figure out how to install a fridge slide and at the same time not lose the jack storage. Your solution for the storage is pretty nice. Did you ever figure out how to gain back access to the jack? Thank you for the vid!

    • @BackroadExploration
      @BackroadExploration  2 года назад +1

I have not. I couldn’t think of a solution I liked. I figure I have had the Jeep for 4 years and Haven’t needed it. So worse comes to worse I can move the fridge out and the platform to get the jack.

@@BackroadExploration nice! So i kept searching, and goose gear actually already solved it… But, that thing is super expensive… so i am reverse-engineering it now and gonna DIY it. Wish me luck :) I will let you know how it turns out

I want to see it when it’s done. I guess I should have mentioned I knew about them but it didn’t fit the budget and I don’t trust my DIY that much.
