  • The Deuter Kid Comfort 2 was the difference between getting outside with my family, or leaving the kid behind and going solo. As a new father, it was vital to me that my wife and I continue to enjoy the outdoors the way we always had as a couple, and that a child joining our family wouldn't change that.
Now having owned the Kid Comfort for nearly 2 years and 100+ miles of use, I can say that it's an incredible piece of gear. Made with the child in mind, and the comfort of both the child and adult carrying the pack. My initial review discussed issues with breathability, but after a lot of good use, it's not the least of my worries. I have the ability to get my kids into the backcountry and share my passion with them.

Thank you for this detailed review! It was incredibly helpful in making our purchase decision. Our son is now 13 months old, and we are planning a hiking trip in Norway. I have a strong feeling that this is the perfect backpack for our adventure. Thanks again!

Love this thing. Took me 19mo to the Chicago auto show and first train ride this past weekend. Standing room only so this thing was awesome!!!

Great review, might be a few years old now but still good.
I’m looking at picking one of these up for my 18 month old so we can get out and about walking as a family again.
Thanks very much for the insight into living with one long term.

I have the Kid Comfort Air and can't find out online anywhere how you keep the backpack from collapsing. The point is to avoid the child's face from hitting your back.

Have the pack and really enjoy it. I have yet to find a way to pack the sun/rain protector on the backpack. Am I missing something?

Clayton Parkinson yes you are sir. The guy in this review says that there is a camelback bladder pouch but in reality it is not. It's the storage for your accessorie. Search for the OEM review on YT and that's how they describe this pouch should be used. As a matter of fact they're isn't even a hook loop in that compartment to hang a bladder so idk what this guy talking about. And no disrespect to the uploader, but he does not know how to use this product or at least it's giving misinformation about the purpose of some of the adjustments, straps, mounts, etc. Could end up hurting someone.

I watch the video again just to see those adorable cabbage patch kids sleeping in the outdoors in a backpack. Happy dad.
