That first trick is in Eugene Burgers final secrets book. The way him and max map it out is really interesting. I was obsessed with it for a while, I did it a ton and after a while it’s crazy how often you hit immediately and freak people out. The video here with max is like the worst case scenario as said in the book where you have to keep removing chunks of cards in the right direction all while making look as though thats exactly what’s supposed to happen. Burger said it was like a game of chess for him.
Thank you for bringing up to my knowledge of that Eugene Burgers book. I have done Trick That Can Not Be Explained for years but I am always on a watch to study more of the same and / or similar plots and this seems like a great source to study. I add it to my "next to buy" list 🙂
@@rikupajari it’s great book! It comes with links to videos that he recorded where he goes into magicians choice in great detail and all the possible outcomes and solutions of the trick that can’t be explained. Also has a bunch of footage of him performing it.
I remember that show when I was a kid when Max Maven did the Grey Elephants In Denmark trick. I learned so much since then. Now, a lot of magic and mentalism is like second nature to me, where as, other tricks seem so foreign. I'm just a hobbiest though. It's like seeming like a regular person with super powers flying under the radar. I went off on a tangent with this commenting on the video. Short version. Great video! 😁👍
I use a bit of magician's choice with Maven's Bwave, but I wouldn't have the bollocks to use it in the way that he did in the first trick. Epic stuff and thanks for the analysis Piggy.

Was anyone else here introduced to Harry Blackstone Sr. on Square One TV on PBS? I swear that Max Maven had done some of the segments as well, but I can't confirm.
Actually I’m not sure how redundant the prediction is - in the narrative of the structure, he did say “that ring did have a special power” which seems to imply that if she didn’t have the ring, it wouldn’t have worked, or perhaps if the ring was a different suit, it would be a different Ace.
- Max throws down an open prediction
- Woman doesn’t have power
- Max puts on ring
- Woman has power
- The Ace is selected and the prediction is seen to have come true
- But it wouldn’t have happened without the ring

One possible method is to use a gimmicked purse that indicates when it’s been opened (similar to leaving a strand of hair in a door-seal, to know if it had been opened.) If indeed this is the method then the indication is so subtle that he could genuinely have missed it, (or it had been messed up by the vigorous mixing) lmk what you think Mr. Oink
That’s what it sounds like. That way he only has to find out the difference between it and the rest
@@andraskoleszar9759 I think so, too and likely the marking got removed because they tossed the purse in the air instead of just moving it around on the table.
Even professionals make a mistake now and then. It's not whether or not you made a mistake, but how you react to that mistake that sets you apart from other magicians. Also, always have a back-up effect in case of catastrophic, unrecoverable failure.

and, or, and! you can, as a final choice, let her choose to trade with you one last time or not, if yes, she finally picked on her own the forced card, if not she picked for you the forced card, a bonified miracle either way!
