Greetings from Seattle USA, and thanks to whomever shot this footage, for such a steady camera!!!! Congrats Italia!!!!! (p.s., this is better footage/coverage than NBC in America)
Agreed! I'm in Seattle too- we appreciate such personal footage of this magnificent race instead of having to rely on NBC's terrible nationalistic coverage, as if no other country exists besides the United States.
@@firmeza9 What's up Seattle? Right, I'm totally baffled with NBC. Shouldn't this have been the "Watch Remote" Olympics? Could they have not have footage like this uploaded and sent to NBC, then NBC can organize and make available all the best footage, you know, the "Fan's Perspective? NBC blew a once in a lifetime opportunity to show via social media, internet and technology, you can make this type of event work, and keep fans engaged, during a pandemic. It's not like all the technology is not available....
@@dxwallace55 as usual it seems they were struggling mightily to suck every $ they could from their and other linked platforms. It was horrible- other apps requiring local NBC providers to function. Thank goodness for the "wild West" of RUclips! Peacock was a horrible experience and finding vids longer than 59 seconds was only possible here. You know how things roll here; instead of going for good will by making us feel inclusive to open our wallets, NBC first locks the resource to make it more scarce, pissing us all off in the process. And the 'watch remote' piece could've been a major gold mine for them... in a good way.
Tortu arrived at the Olympics with physical and mental health problems (in fact he had difficulty qualifying for the Olympics and was unable to reach the final in the 100m) but he gave everything he could and ran (unofficially) at 8 " 845 with a less than perfect start, if he had been in perfect shape and had started perfectly he would have been even faster.
@@dxwallace55 Thank you sir. The importance for the Italian sport can't be overestimated, for the USA is normal to win a medal in this event and of course this time it has been a huge disappointment, but for Italy generally it is a success to arrive to the final and perhaps close to the podium; This team exceeded any possible expectations, excluding perhaps them and their trainers nobody at all could expect them to shave .61 from the national record and win the gold medal. It has been even more emotional of the victory in the individual 100m (another thing very unexpected, first time an Italian athlete qualified for the final) because it has happened to us in the past to have a very talented INDIVIDUAL, but having a team strong enough to compete with the best in the world is something else.
@@nicolaandria522 I totally get it. Many Americans love to cheer for underdogs, I think with Usain Bolt gone, everything was up for grabs. I just found it fun watching Italy, I got to see the video of Jacobs mother and friends reacting to the race, a lot of fun, a lot of passion. It's exactly what you said. Winning medals in the USA only brings real excitement to the winner and their family, not the whole country. I had also thought to myself, Italy got hit so hard by COVID, they just needed this release of joyous emotion. I think they made what could have been a very forgettable Olympics, a very memorable Olympics!!!!
The British tabloids are already try to smear Jacobs reputation with this probe of Giacomo Spazzini. Those Brits must be really mad at the Italians due to recent British losses to the Italians in sports.....
Italy well done, during the Covid hit, we were in our country's sympathizing with you, not knowing you guys were busily training indoors, took Europa league and now Olympics games, it's a great lesson, you can do something even in ur worse condition.

Convert it in distance at a speed of more than 43km/h and it is above 12cm in space (almost 5 inches) between the Italian and the British, so was easy enough to see, the final British sprinter was desperate because he could spot immediately the back of the italian sprinter at the finish line, 0,01s seems a little number, but in space is still a lot to spot with just a naked eye without any advanced technology needed.
