Hey Dad, I'm working out the next MTB for my 8yro son who 142cm needs a new bike and rides a 24" Custom Clash for now. He rides a bit of everything including some medium sized freeride stuff with 6-7ft ramps and 14-16ft gaps...but also bike parks and pedaling our home trails. How have you guys gotten along on the 27.5 Clash? I saw that it's 34+lbs, which is pretty heavy but Pike/Super Deluxe seem nice. One concern is that the 24" Clash has Manitou's kids tuned suspension that is so incredible simply because its tuned for his weight really well (shock and fork). I think the 27.5 suspension is just a regular adult suspension. How are you guys handling this? Last question, what pedals are you riding on the Absolut 24"? We just picked one of these up and I'm wondering if I should go with a grippy pedal or something less grippy. Thanks! Getting some pro-Dad advice is so helpful in that the kids stuff is all over the place. Cheers!
Hey Steve , Clash is a Great bike for Finley at 11 years old , he has ridden this since December and we were worried at first it would be big . He certainly wouldn’t of handled it at 8yrs old , We’ve never tried but I don’t know why you couldn’t put a 26” wheel into the 27.5 frame ???? This might suit him better ? With room for growth ! Also depends on how much he wants to chuck it ? As Fin struggles to flip the bike in such size ! And manuals are heavy just now . The Absolut runs the gusset s2 peddles , pretty grippy with metal pins , his never liked a slippy pedal . Also with a ride concepts shoe the combo is perfect 👌 Hope this helps, MUM 😉
@@finley2012davies Lol, thank you Mum (sry :) You are a brave lady watching the boy fly so high. With my little guy, its nerve-racking and when those REALLY scary crashes happen...my wife and I rethink our choices heavily in those moments lol. But hey, the kids love it SO MUCH...it'd be hard to backaway. Cheers to you guys and thank you very much!
