You had a lot better luck with yours than I did with mine. Out of 22 "available" channels, I was able to get none. Spent about 5 hours moving all around and today ... I'm returning it.
Well if you used an antenna like he did then don’t expect to get many channels unless your like 30-45 miles out of an antenna station like cbs or nbc, because those antennas don’t have uhf or vhf elements basically what you need for great signals toward channels, I would suggest a outdoor metal antenna
Thanks for taking the time to review this. Appreciated
ThisTv is one of my favorite channels, if you're looking for 80's and 90's films that one saw in the theaters, but worth checking out....
Hi ED no more "This TV" it's been changed into "Court TV" I have "Spectrum Cable TV and it just changed over to "Court TV" don't like that it's changed miss the "old This TV"!!!!!
I'm actually going to follow you, I don't follow any RUclips personalities, for one main reason. Your normal. Your not ultra smiley, your not screaming at me, you just told me what I needed to know, changed some shit, and was just honest.
Don't change
Thanks.

Oh my God isn't that the truth.. he acts like a normal person . I can't stand away some of the people on RUclips act and you're right some of them are too smiley and flirting with the camera . I'm sick of those people and yeah I don't like the ones that yell either .
I bought a 20 dollar one from amazon that has a 135 mile range. I just put it on a window inside our home and all my tv's got 51 channels. That includes abc, cbs, nbc, and fox. We are really impressed with it.
Nice. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.

Thanks.
That is so cool! I love those old TV shows.
A very timely vlog. Just installed a rabbit ear style antenna. Now have 31 foreign language channels plus 4 and 5. That's what you get in the wilderness section of Orange County.
LOL, soon I’ll have a roof antenna. I’m excited to see how many shopping channels that pulls in.
Im saying all new tvs should include an antenna

Oh my gosh! I got the one for all to ultra he 1080P model. I am amazed! It picks up everything!
I thought MOHU was good but this one puts my old MOHU to shame.
I can't believe it it picks up e everything in a room I Never was able to pick up anything. Hats off this one.......😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Nice review thanks for your time very detailed!
Yo..first time on your channel and instantly subscribed.i like the way u go straight to the point no bullcrap. Thank you.
Thanks for subscribing. I strive to teach and entertain.
Go into your TV settings and do a factory reset. It worked for me. I went from about 25 channels to over 30.
This is what all the RV people use! I use a Winegart indoor antenna myself (the boosted one). Its one of the best in its class. Just face it in the direction of the transmitters as high as you can. I remember watching a live police car chase from KCAL when I was in your area!!
Next I’m gonna try a rca outdoor ant. I saw they have a portable tripod for it, I assume for campers. Maybe you should do an RV TV antenna review on your channel?
I feel like live car chase is a regular show on kcal!
I think I have discussed the antenna many times in the past. That over the air signal is clearer than satellite when installed and positioned right. Since I am near the border, I get signals from both Canada and the USA: best of both worlds!
Sure. I was just saying a dedicated how to for new rvers type thing. Idk. It was just a thought.

I got 225 channels in Atlanta, but again you have to find that sweet spot..
Thats a lot. Awesome. No more cable for you. :) Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
Lucky you 😁
What is your zip code? I wonder how many channels I can get for zip 30076?

That's a good location you're at n close to transmiter towers too. If we were all so lucky.
most of the antennae's of that nature don't work good without a signal booster, clear tv etc... but so far the best indoor antennaes are the ones with rabbit ears, UHF loop and dial to fine tune it and would suggest adding a booster to them but they work better with more clarity than those flat ones, I have a Radio Shack HDTV/FM HD antennae with a signal booster and it works better than the Clear TV & RCA flat antennae's I have, it pulls in more stations a lot clearer than those as far as indoor antennae's also would not recommend getting the stick like ones you plug in back
I just ordered 3 different indoor antennas and am going to test them for reception this weekend, hopefully. But unlike you, I'll find use for the ones I don't use as fm radio antennas also.
Rob Baker soooo how were they?
I bought an rca antenna that claimed 55 mile range. I live 28.5 miles from the tower. After fooling with it and it’s placement for over an hour. I wasn’t able to get any channels at all
I have two that I paid under $10 for and it's picked up @ least 20 channels.
In the 50s, 60s,70s, all we had was a metal antenna mounted on top of our house. We had to climb a peach tree to get on the rooftop and turn the antenna by hand until the 70s...then we had an automatic changer that sat on top of the tv..We could only get one channel at a time...we just watched the one until one of us kids climbed the tree..
This tv is movies and old tv shows , its really cool , keep" this " station bra
This TV Has Now Gone Away & Became Court TV. So Goodbye This TV .
Thank you for this video! Hopefully it's enough to help my mom's friend. 🤞 You did a great job explaining & showing the different options to do. 👍
Not everyone knows how to use the menu screen... even with a manual (my mother included). 🤦 They're always afraid there is a "delete everything" key/button they'll accidentally hit. 😏 Seriously.
Vince!! my brother loves this stuff. Thank You from Him. Cool stuff
Thanks. I just try to make videos about stuff I find interesting. So I guess we’re on the same wavelength.
Thank you for your input
most any antenna mounted on a roof will work better especially clear of nearby obstructions, the higher the better. You don't need 1 that is HD or Digital as those factors don't affect propogation only line of sight, some weather conditions, other interference etc. Check to see if the antenna has elements for VHF channels as those are still used in some areas.
You are lucky to get that many channels. I only get 1 channel no matter where I put it with the booster.
I have picked up 15 channels. Thanks
Awesome. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
We had a $70 1byone hard plastic (white) antenna on a telescoping pole for our RV. In front of our house it picked up twice as many channels as the RV manufacturer supplied $200 "bat-wing" antenna that came mounted on the roof. We were once camped at a campground on the outskirts of Indianapolis and we bought a $25 cheapo antenna at WalMart and actually picked up over 100 OTA channels with great reception. I've come to the conclusion that it's all about location, location, location :-)
What maker was that cheapo one? 100 in Indy is crazy. Although most are probably in a foreign language or a shopping channel, im guessing.
In the midwest you don't get as many foreign language channels apparently. Most of them were actual, viewable channels. I can't remember the brand name of the antenna. All I remember is that it was the cheapest one (and also an experiment) and it really surprised us. It was black plastic, about 18 inches long and maybe 2.5 inches tall. It had a "power booster" that I connected and I just set it on the roof of the small RV and ran the coax through the window. I used to have an app that would tell you (based on your location) what direction and how far away specific towers were for specific channels. They all don't come from one direction (usually) and many were just too far away. You can see the 1byone that we had in the walk-thru video of the Range Runner video on our channel ..... ruclips.net/video/QXlexz5ehTQ/видео.html

I used to work on TV tuner/demod technology as an engineer - most of what the industry tell user to do is a bit silly. The best approach is to use the website to find the location of the main TV transmitter tower in your area and the channels that tower carry. Instead of "scan", manually add the channel's RF channel of the top channels you are interested in. For 80% of the Americans, that's ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.... or Unvision, Telemundo, Unimas, Azteca for Spanish speaking viewers. Then you tune into those key channels, with that channel's signal strength readout on the screen, then move around the antenna until you get 1) really good picture quality and/or highest signal strength reading, and 2) a good location that you can permanently affix your antenna and not some hideous location that's either unsafe or that your wife would kill you for. It's only at that point, you affix the antenna location and do the full "scan" or "re-scan". With most metropolitan market having just 1 or 2 main towers, your priority is to find a placement of antenna that can receive the strongest signal from that tower(s). Once that's located, the "scan" function will pick up all other channels from are transmitted from that tower...even ones you really dont care for. I once help up a friend setup an indoor antenna, in the basement, using these steps and he was amazed that no one was able to do that. The standard procedure the industry suggest is silly because you have two moving targets: 1) not sure where to install antenna; 2) don't even know what you can pick up or what's broadcasting. My approach is fix item 2), and then optimize item 1).
Thanks for the upload and providing information that cuts through all the BS. Good job.

Exactly!
Professor thanks for the beautiful explanation
Excuse
Do you recommend buying this device?
Is it suitable for reception in Egypt
I don’t know if it will work in Egypt. Do you have television stations that broadcast in HD? Do you know anyone with an antenna? What does your local electronics store say about antennas?
Its the booster that brings in stations so bring it back inside
Boosters only boost signals you already get. I know it appears as if he got more channels, but they were already in the antennas range, which is quite low range. If you live outside of town or city, this antenna will probably not pick up any channels at all.
What about an aux channel, or an available channel for your blue ray/dvd players?
Hey Vince, lol are you the new consumer advocate for as seen on tv? good to hear from you. This works out good for me I have a tv in a bedroom we do not use I was going to use something similar. I don't think I will now. Thanks You guys take care. later, Bruce
I’m Vince Rocca and I’ll fight for you!!! LOL. I’m balancing things around the house, and trying to make vids that don’t take up my whole day, while trying to edit the backlog of vacation videos. Checkout tvfool or that dtv.gov sote to see what you might get in your bedroom.
I have 4 of these in my house and for us this works fine. We get stations 60 miles to the south of us and the anti are facing the local anti to the east of us 5 miles direct vision. We have 4 made by 3 different companies all work the same quality. No reason to pay for local channels package from Comcast in the Portland metro area.
Thanks for sharing... This probably wouldn't work for me because l have so many angles in my home. Don't think I'll bother would probably get more frustrated than anything. Thanks again. 😆

OMG GUY, YOUR SO FUNNY AND SO NICE EXPLAINING ALL THIS STUFF,I BARLEY TALK PLAIN ENGLISH 😂, THANKS SHANNON FROM MICHIGAN 💗
I live in Tampa Florida. I bought the same type of antenna only mine is a 50 mile range.
It works great, I get 52 channels in total.
In the beginning I had a move the antenna around because I wasn’t getting ABC, Univision and CBS.
I Put in the antenna up high but that didn’t work. Finally I put it halfway near A light switch and now I get all the channels that I wanted including the missing channels.
One of the tech people at my job told me to buy a 50 or 60 mile range indoor antenna to get the best results. He was right.
Awesome. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
So basically if I wanted to get Channels in my room from a cable box that’s in my living room, this is the thing to get ?
I purchased a $10 smaller antenna on ebay that looks like yours without a booster and receive all the major channels(30+) including ABC,CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, PBS, ThisTV, AntennaTV, MeTV, ......etc. I live in San Diego(La Jolla) and I've mounted on the window on the first floor. So depending on your location some antennas work.
Yep. Welcome to the cord cutters anonymous :) Land of free TV.
What's the name of this antenna please ? I want to buy one from Ebay and try it out..
Thanks
The name is in the title. Also a model number and link are in the video description.

I totally agree it should be integrated into all new tvs!!!!
Crazy they make you buy this extra flimsy piece of plastic. But i guess most people use TVs with cable so they don’t need it. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
Antenna on the roof for digital TV and rabbit ears for F M radio is what gets used by me and my neighbours in Western Ballarat .
Appreciate you
Great knife and a great viddie. Ice seen some yt vids where a guy used a metal clothes hanger wrapped in alum foil. Also I feel you cause I use a flat rabbit ears tv free way antenna and I scaned and got nothing but Spanish channels religious channels and audio church channels after I see I can get a lot of 'free channels' like I see on tv infomercials if I pay 50 antenna. Yeah right.....
I set up a long range swiveling wifi antenna on the roof of my house that works pretty well. Wifi is not as fast as my cox cable hook up but it works. I mention this because a similar setup with an antenna such as this might really allow me to ditch my cable provider all together. My question is, will the antenna itself survive in the long term against the beating it will get from the elements outside? Will covering this antenna so as to avoid the sun's rays, hinder the reception in any way? I'm hoping that since it's basically designed to be covered by the walls of our homes and still get reception, provided there are tv stations in the area to pick up, making a light weather resistant cover for this antenna and placing it out doors should optimized it's overall function. Does this seem logical?
This is probably a better option for you RCA Yagi Outdoor HD Antenna Unbox ruclips.net/video/8Ujo4zUSxIE/видео.html
Am planning to buy one on ebay coz it's just $7, am in uganda and my place its hard to get local channels, now am only watching satellite channels FTA
Dear Mr switchblade, It would help if you showed what port you plugged the antenna into. If you already have cable coax in use, can you use the USB input?
You can’t use a USB to get the transmission. Antennas only supply their signal through 300ohm (2 wires) or 75ohm (coax). If the “ANT” connector on the back of your TV is already in use by Cable then you’ll need a 75ohm AB switch.
thumbs up buddy!!
Thanks.
I used to get CBS with the antenna being in the house now I don't and so I have to put the antenna outside and it works sometimes. I don't want to rescan the channels because I do get Ktla, Fox, NBC, Oxygen, and Court TV while the antenna is in the house next to the TV I'm thinking if I rescan I take the chance of losing those channels. Its a struggle but can't afford cable so that's where I'm at right now. The booster doesn't work for me.
Thank you for a lot

Thx cuz my sister bought one after my dad chucked the tv box out the window after Liverpool lost 😂
First impression Vince, you look a bit like Matt Berry (IT Crowd).

I think some TVs are able to pick up signals that others can’t. My small flat screen bedroom tv picked up more channels than my living room big flat screen when I tested it in the living room using the same antenna amplifier by COBY. About 10 channels more. They’re both different brands. Why is that?
This is true. Its the quality of the built in tuner. Different tvs may pick up different channels based on how good their internal tuner is.
there are a lot of factors for antenna quality. TV signals are sight of line. (meaning, nothing can be between you and the signal. And beyond 50-70miles, they don't work because of the curvature of the earth.
flat panel, (omni-directional) are weak at best.
In your next review, please indicate if you live in a flat or mountainous area where you are sitting in a valley.
Please mention how far you are from the station or broadcast repeater station. Thanks
Ok. Here’s my next video RCA Yagi Outdoor HD Antenna Unbox - Install - Review Cord Cutter ruclips.net/video/8Ujo4zUSxIE/видео.html
My projector has a D T.v. hook up on back..it seems to have a tuner already because you can
program the channels with no picture..no signel...what do I need to do ???...wish I chould put a picture on HERE...
The best thing would be to google the projector manual for instructions on how to hook up and program the tuner. In general you should have a “75 ohm female connector” on the back. An antenna gets attached to it. Then you tell the projector to search for channels. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
😁 hi I would like to know when you put it there TV antenna outside that you leave on the booster connector.
I did not use a booster for my area. But if you need one, it goes inside the house.

If you want to watch free local TV or anywhere in the nation, there are several applications that can be downloaded iOS or os, I use app locast.
Did u by any chance get the Spanish channel of Univision and telemundo?
Yes
Nice video! I just bought a similar antenna from Amazon and will test it out in full tomorrow. We recently cut out cable and I mostly want the local affiliate channels. I just signed up for ps vue but it only has the local CBS affiliate station. I want the ABC, FOX and NBC ones as well lol.
Cool. I ended up going with the RCA Yagi Outdoor HD Antenna Unbox - Install - Review Cord Cutterruclips.net/video/8Ujo4zUSxIE/видео.html it works great. Good luck on your journey.
Try a Channel Master outdoor roof antenna if you really want to bring in broadcast TV from a distance. And to further improve reception consider an antenna rotator with remote control. This way you can fine-tune your reception. You get what you pay for, the better the antenna, the better the reception. I recommend the Channel Master MetroTenna or EXTREMEtenna. Of course, if you are very far from the source you may need a booster. Do not be fooled by these ridiculous ads offering amazing free TV in 1080P with an indoor antenna - ripoff alert. They don't broadcast OTA TV in 1080P it's either 1080i or 720P.
Which side of the antenna is the @fsce?” Thank you
What would have been nice is with the dtv.gov it also tells you how far the signal is away from your address and how strong the signal was. The package says it'll go 50 miles, but we are left clueless to how far it really went. Does it really goes 50 miles or are you very close to these stations broadcasting towers and it isn't any better than a set of rabbit ears?
Check out tvfool for distance www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29
I get 16 channels with my antenna.
I live in an apartment building, and outdoor antennas are not allowed. Only indoor ones.
We can pay any money for watching tv channel for monthly payment
You need 3 large outdoor antennas pointed at each tower.
My antenna doesn't show local channels. I get like NBC news and CBS news. It's not what would normally be if I had cable.
Thanks a lot .
You’re welcome. I also did a video on the rca outdoor which is what I’m currently using.

Hello, I live about 30 miles from my big city and I have one of those ole fashioned antennas on the top of my house. I have an Hd tv all my local channels pixel like crazy. So maddening! However all the other channels work perfectly. What is the matter and how do I fix it? Thank you.
A lot of things could be at issue. But mostly, I’m guessing with an OLD antenna, has the wind blown it off course through the years? Do you have it pointed in the right direction according to the website in the video?
Thank you sir.
You’re welcome. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
@@VinceRocca OK
@@VinceRocca I regained FOX, but that was it.
Just like old antennas HD has vhf and uhf what signal does this antenna offer? You should have both.
I don’t know. As seen in the video, I connected it and scanned. I then got local channels. According to tvfool ABC runs at 55 dB with a power rating of -35.8 dBm, if that helps.
@@VinceRocca Just like analog TV VHF was used by most broadcasters, yours is probably VHF, but I think you can find a UHF attachment to add to the antenna, who knows, you might double your channels with one.
How to open this antenna I want to see inside
Im bummed I just got Mine hooked it up and got 3 channels , live in Kansas and thought being flat land would get at least 10 channels , tried it with and without booster and moving antenna around
Did you check tvfool or the other online tools to determine what you’ll get and in what direction? I ended up going with the rca yagi in my roof. I also made a video on it.
VinceRocca no I ordered the antenna and saw on the instructions to go to the website to see how many channels can be picked up in my area, it said 3 and it seemed to be on the money with it so I guess I ll be doing chromecast till we move
Remember when you could just extend the built-in antenna on a TV, turn it on, and get dozens of channels? I miss those days. What a crock.
Boosters only boost signals you already get. I know it appears as if he got more channels, but they were already in the antennas range, which is quite low range. 50 miles is false. That antenna probably goes out 25 miles at best. If you live outside of town or city, this antenna will probably not pick up any channels at all. Flat ground is not making a difference. The antennas design is most important. You need an old analog roof antenna, one with 100 mile range and you will also need to have a few major cities within that 100 mile radius.
I never tough of antenna I live on an island and if not cable we have bunny ears antenna's. And what I remembered 15ft or higher the antenna was the better the signal.
Here it’s mandated DigitalTV, rabbit ears won’t work anywhere in the US. Do you have cable on the island or is it satellite?
Cable.
Vraiment sa me plaît beaucoup j,ai besoin comment faire pour l'avoir
In the UK we get FREESAT, we get all channels except SKY,don't you get the same in US
Nope. We have a free satellite system called Free To Air, but it gets a limited selection of channels, none are the major networks ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, or PBS. Please subscribe so I can get to 100k subs.
this products antenna did not get signal how to do that
44 channels that alot!
you should show the indoor performance of the antenna with booster
In this video at 3:30 I install the booster and show the difference.
Deaf aid helps too
Hey Vince, where did you get the switchblade knife? I want one but thought they were illegal.
It was loaned to me by a friends film prop collection. It’s silly that California considers it an automatic weapon though. A hunting knife can be unholstered faster than pulling this thing out, pressing the button then regripping for action.
VinceRocca First of all… Thanks for your review because now I will not be getting one of these antennas and secondly… I couldn’t find the knives because I was searching for switchblades and apparently they are now called automatic knives. Thanks to you… I’m getting a Buck 110 switchblade. ruclips.net/video/bcGe5n_VuAU/видео.html
Hi. How can I know where to point my antenna? How can I knoe where my TV tower is? Thanks for the vid
you can go to antennaweb.org and enter your zip code to find towers and their distance as well as a map
I got mine at the dollar store,it didn't come with a instruction manual, I scanned for channels but only got 1 channel (tbs kids)
I bet if you went with the other roof antenna I reviewed you’ll get a bunch more.
I've tried 5 besides this one & nothing works
Where I live I can't use a roof antenna i live in a old restaurant /building , mine didn't come with a buster just antenna & the cord remind u no instructions good way to sale a $15 antenna right
Does this work on old school tvs
No. You need an hd converter for old tvs
I think it is no good now, I put it behind a picture and it was not hidden. So I trimmed 2 inches off, I said for years. Nothing is built to last, I am just trying to join it back together with a couple staples and a few drops of Gorilla Glue. Thanks for the video though
Cutting it might permanently break the wires inside it. Although, I’m not really sure how it works. Good luck. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.

How/where do I get a longer cable? If the one that comes with the antenna doesn't pick up more channels.

3:44 Yes I want to move my Antenna outsise.
Does it work with Old Sony CRT Tv (not LCD or LED)
The TV needs to be able to decode HD signals. There was a few years when HD CRT’s were made so it should work on those, but most CRT’s on the planet have SD tuners and can’t pick up anything anymore.
Lol I only get Cozi tv and another I think Start? in LA 😂👍🏻
I ended up installing an RCA yagi on my roof and that made all the difference. ruclips.net/video/8Ujo4zUSxIE/видео.html

That’s great Mr Lucky. Check out the Amazon FireTV recast to pair with the antenna. And I’d consider myself lucky if you’d subscribe so I can get to 100k subs and get a youtube plaque.
