    My dad always told me mortadella was donkey. So that’s what I told my friends growing up. I had the only father from Italy in the neighborhood so they trusted me. I didn’t find out it was pork until last year. I’m 34. He was joking.

      donkey mortadella IS a thing, but you prolly havent come across it. itd be specified as mortadella d'asino (you can look it up and youl will notice the darker color, its a sicilian product). what you generally eat as just mortadella is pure pork meat. so it's half false, a quarter true and a quarter misinformation.

    It is the tastiest thing I have ever tried... Ever since childhood, my father used to bring some for us for dinner, and telling us stories of how they used to enjoy having it back during the days when they grew up in Lebanon. We are a Lebanese family living abroad, and Bologna is sadly not always accessible at were we stay.

      @@selimmentes762 No, it is not. Salami is cold smoked in that it doesn’t get cooked during the smoking and curing process. The salting, smoking, curing, fermenting and drying processes kill bacteria without affecting the state of the meat. But with Mortadella and similar types of sausages, they ultimately get cooked during their processes. And unlike Salami, Mortadella is not fermented or dried. Also, the composition differs vastly.

      Mortadella is just a big italian hotdog. Low quality gorunded meat mixed with fat. Not even smoked or dried. Nothing exciting and every single Spanish, german or eastern european/balkan sausage is imcomparably superior.       my penis is unbelievably small, but bro: Don't worry bro... They wash their hands anytime they touch different things, the cured meat contains pepper and pistacchio spices to avoid meat being decomposed by bacteria and Mortadella is been cooked also, so no bacteria survive... 😀😎😘

      The sausage is cured, cooked and smoked for a while. Therefore the sausage will be unaffected by a worker touching the meat in the raw stages.

      @@Jeremy_Fisher It's okay if you consider it a sausage. But we invented it, we produced it and also we eat it everyday. For everyone here it isn't a sausage. A sausage (salsiccia) is small and raw, ready to cook. This one is huge cooked with black pepper and some type adding pistacchio. It's sliced thin into a sandwich, as we do with prosciutto and many others "insaccati da banco". For example Salamino and salame ( the bigger one) is not a sausage too. If you come here don't use the word sausage, because nobody will understand you. Just to let you know our food culture. Cheers
