We look at the ways you can tell it isn't genuine, then we'll smash it with a hatchet, as that's what you should always do with fake #watches.
I've been interested in seeing this fake you said you had for a while now. Interesting to see the thought that was put into trying to deceive people. I totally agree with you though. Making an 'inspired by' style watch is ok, but a straight up fake. No, you did the correct thing for sure!
why buy a superclone replica? you gotta ask you why not? these super clones are so good nowadays that you can only spot the difference under a microscope. why pay $70k for a watch if a $600 looks the same. nobody will notice these tiny differences unless you are looking ar it with a microscope or loupe and have the skill to know what to look for

some could argue the real fraud is in the prices there companies charge for there luxury time pieces, the mark up is almost as criminal as the super clones.
In the case of Patek, there is still a large real value. Maybe a Nautilus should sell for a few thousand less, but it is still worth several thousand at a minimum. Hand finishing counts.

I have to disagree about your comparison with wearing a replica watch. I turn to the replica Shelby cars that are openly celebrated and very expensive themselves but they are replicas to the originals that are millions of dollars these watches are crazy unobtainable items that Nautilus would fetch over $150,000 if it was real. Therefore that watch is unobtainable for 99.9% of the population a high end replica should be an option
A replica car is not a counterfeit, your argument is invalid. The manufacturer is identified. They are homages to the Shelby design, they are not sold as being legitimate versions of the original car. Buy an homage watch instead of a fake one.

These aren't being sold as real, the vast majority are for the Chinese market where a genuine Patek is literally a million $ completely unobtainable watch to the average person.

I own both a Rolex Daytona and a Patek 5712 (inherited) and there is NO WAY that I wearing them out in public. Hence, I own clones of both of these models and have no shame whatsoever. Do I go around claiming that they are real? No. No watch is worth having a confrontation over. Replica's should never exist and deserve to be smashed? Well, that is YOUR opinion.
Buy an homage, or better yet flesh out your collection with some watches that offer value for the money. Fakes are counterfeits, they are lies. But you can obviously buy whatever you want

Why would i pay for an expensive watch when id rather prefer using that money to bring down my mortgage payments on my multiple properties? If watchmakers priced their watches with affordability in mind then we wouldn't be seeing replica watches. I support replica watches and i own several along with some gen watches. Dont tell me how to spend my hard earned money!
A fake is a fake, simple as that. There are a lot of inexpensive watches of good quality and reputation. Buy something with its own identity.

Why would i need an identity by wearing something i can clearly afford? In fact if i wanted to, i could easily buy a £100,000 watch right now but i choose not to because it brings me no joy in owning something so ridiculously expensive.

A £200 watch that looks like a £100k watch is not fraud is it? It's not even counterfeit as the buyer knew it was fake.
It's copyright breach, trade mark breach and intellectual property theft at best.
All of which are civil matters, the UK police have no interest in one person buying, selling or wearing one fake watch.

The Nautilus 5711 is my favorite sport watch by far. I dont have the means to buy a real one, and i will not by a super clone on personal principles. I have owned three Nautilis homages from aliexpress. Bliger brown dial, Specht & Sohne blue/green dial, and Phylida blue gradiant dial. The Specht & Sohne has the best dial with the thinest case, but a crappy bracelet with links too thick and a double deployment butterfly clasp that is uncomfortable and digs into your skin on the wrist. The Phylida is the best out there in terms of homages with a comfortable thinner link braclet with clamshell clasp. The finishing is also excellent for a $90 homage. I wish one of these clone manufacturers would come out with a version like this minus the origional "Patek" name and Calatrava cross on it. Could make for a great homage with these minor changes.
I got one of those as a gift last year, I got the green one, the faceplate on mine is shinier really (and with a bit of the anisotropic sheen you mentioned), but then I saw that there are like 2xx, 5xx and 8xx $ clones (but I think the 5xx and 8xx are really the same heheh), the 2xx one probably is not that good... About the morality of the watch, in my opinion, the object by itself, or using it, is amoral (does not have any morality really, be it good or bad), what would be fraudulent is to try selling it as it was a genuine one (this I think everyone would agree). And then about "the legacy", frankly, if I had the money AND considered the prices they practice to be reasonable, I would probably buy tens of those. But, I neither have the money or consider the prices they practice to be reasonable. So, if you are not a billionaire (with a 'B') it is not 'immoral' to wear this kind of watches (the genuine version of mine is 300.000, nearing the price for my house! If a person that has a 300.000 home (or, god forbid, rents) buys a 300.000 watch, just to "respect the authenticity", this person is in serious need of mental treatment)... now, if the person IS a billionaire, to buy replica fancy watches would be like betraying their own club or something like that...

@@TalkingTimepieces Almost any activity can be used to "support crime" (even some neo-pentecostal "churches" are used as fronts to launder money, etc...). If the selling party makes abundantly clear that it is a replica I don't see a problem. I also got a lightsaber prop replica (probably more expensive than the watch (the clone I mean of course) hehe) and also don't feel it would be reasonable to me to have either a real lightsaber or the original prop used in movies etc... And if I had a genuine watch valued at more than 100K, I would probably have at least 3 good replicas, just to go around less worried, like if I'm going skiing or rock climbing I would use the replica, and if I were to go at a formal event I would use the genuine, etc... If I had billions to spend I would go camping and swimming every day with 300k watches, why not? But I'm talking about replicas for absurdly priced watches, if it is a case of a 5k watch and the replica is 1.5k, than it is worrisome at different levels, and I would be more inclined to agree with you more completely...

That doesn't make much sense. A fake isn't just a lie, it is an attractive nuisance that will still draw the attention of thieves. better expand your collection with something nice that won't attract the attention, like a Nomos, or Longines, or Tag, or...

I bought a fake Rolex Sea Dweller for $20 over 22 years ago. Been wearing it regularly and it was so accurate for 15 years and I do mean accurate to +2sec a day. But in the last few years it has started to go faster. Bearing in mind this watch haven't been serviced in all that time! Worth it? I should think so!

It is fine. I don't mind what it looks like. It has the name Rolex on it, no one noticed it is a fake Rolex and it is still working working after 22 years (without serviced). My point being... It is just a watch after all.

I have the exact same confusion. These rep watchmakers are not children, contrary to popular belief. They are run-of-the-mill trained - albeit low budget - adult watchmakers. It's sad to see such a decent level of engineering go into a worthless copy. They could've just as easily slapped an homage brand name on it, and it would actually be a half decent watch.

Is it definitely a Sellita SW200 ? I only ask ‘cos it seems strange a counterfeiter would use Sellita when the Seagull ST2130 is almost identical but a fifth of the price, if not more.
Good point, but it is engraved with SW200. It may be a counterfeit movement, but who would fake a Sellita? As a high-end fake, they wanted it to run well
@@TalkingTimepieces I don’t know, as someone who lives in Asia I have seen all manner of counterfeit. The fake Casios always make me laugh. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had used like a Sea Gull ST2130 or a PT5000, with the movement supplier putting SW200 on it in order to sell it to manufactures as “Swiss Made”. In my experience the ST2130 is actually an excellent movement and would run just as well as the Sellita when regulated properly. They are so close the parts are interchangeable. As I type this I am wearing an SW200 with a replacement barrel and mainspring from an ST2130.
The best two 5711 fakes are PPF factory who use a decorated Miyota 9015. And 3KF factory who rep the gen movement 1-1 with the exception of the free sprung balance.
This is a piece of junk, it stands out a mile off as a fake.
I'd take the superclone any day. Beats spending an arm, leg, kidney, etc. for. Yes I already saw the recommendations you gave others. Would still take a super clone.

b, my boss had his Submariner serviced recently, £1700! Time before....you sat down? £3k.
c, if it stops working, ask a local independent watchsmith, or just put it in the trash, or maybe, if you're feeling brave pull it apart yourself.
d, I also had an 18 y/o Kermit rep, that never missed a beat. Sold it last year cause I never wore it...£100.

TBF regular (recommend every three years) service on a Submariner is £650 + VAT at my local AD plus any parts, you're going to hit £200 in gaskets and seals so you're at £850+VAT before you begin, that's £1020.

First this is not super clone. The super clone comes with clone 240 movement. ,second there is a mod clone wich comes with true 21k gold rotor , clone engraving and free sprung wheel , i dare you find a 1 difference between them
This is an older fake, they have gotten much better. But they are still fakes. Get a watch with its own identity.

Speaking of those brands names stuffs. Coach, Ralph Lauren fabrics use a cheap ones. I owned Louis Vuitton coats. I sold them. That way I can help my poor relatives. I mean I want to enjoy and be fashionable but when I think about my poor relatives plus homeless people sleeping in their tents, its just hard for me to breathe. Then I said to myself I will only wear these brand name clothes or watch on pictures. Then I will sell it or return it. Speaking of the fake watch. Whoever made could have done better and put his name on it.
I have diamonds and huge 24K necklace but I don’t wear it. Rolex makes me itch my wrist, earrings & necklace gets on the way( ex complaint about it). Ever since I got all the complaints from my ex, I learned to wear nothing of those. My diamond ring gets on the way when I put my gloves on. My hands and feet do work all the time. My brand name high heels were damaged by the heat. Never wear most of them. I bought it because I liked them. I wear crocs now. My closed shoe’s Louis Vuitton, lululemon, and nike are still in the shoe boxes. For me, I prefer to be admired of my shape rather than wearing these brand names.

One thing that all RUclips creators in the timepiece spheres fail to mention as to why you should not buy a clone is this: inevitable servicing. "Super Clones/Replicas" like all other watches have a mechanical movement that will over time with regular use will need to be serviced by a professional watchmaker. Unless you have the skills and tools to do it yourself, good luck finding a watchmaker locally in your area willing to put his buisness and reputation on the line to take in a luxery watch that he knows outright is counterfeit. You may spend hundreds of dollars or more on a watch, get a few years regular use only to not be able to service it when it no longer runs accurately and be out all that money you paid for it. This is the very thaught I always go back to any time I have the temptation of buying a clone.
I do point it out when I talk about fakes, i even have an entire episode of one of my livestream shows where I talk about it. That's the best reason to buy an homage, the company that made it will service it. That is an excellent point that should always be repeated
Bearing in mind servicing a Patek is a thousand dollars I'm not totally convinced I should worry if my $350 replica dies, it's 4 years old and still running fine. Besides it's got a Miyota 9015 inside, any watchmaker can service it

I could care less. The real crime is that Patek sells a stainless steel watch that can't keep time as well as a $20 Casio for the same price as a house and people buy them because they are suckers. These watches are not worth the money, not even close. Hand finishing isn't worth that damn much. I'll give you a couple grand for it. In fact, Imma go buy a super clone just for spite.

I don’t see anything wrong with buying a super clone for your own enjoyment. Sure, if you’re trying to pretend that it’s the real thing to others then you’re just pathetic. But if you love the look of it and don’t want to sell your house for a nice looking watch, why not?
The people in my life wouldn’t even know what a Nautilus is, nor be impressed by someone having it. I don’t go to formal gatherings or upper class events. I don’t need to impress anyone with my watch other than myself. In fact, as a nurse, I can’t even wear a watch when I’m working.
I do love the look of the 5711 and the AP Royal Oak. I have both an original and a modded Casioak and while the €750 Tissot PRX is advertised as the best budget option, I would much rather spend that same €750 on a high end clone of the 5711. Because I like the look better.
I’m not rich. I actually need to save up to buy a €500-1000 watch. I don’t need to pretend that I’m rich to be happy either. IF I buy a super clone like this, I’m not doing it to flaunt it or pretend I’m someone I’m not.

Then why buy a fake at all? It can't be for reputation or heritage, it can't be for customer service or warranty, and there are a lot of watches with better build and finish at the cost. It must be about the brand the fake is pretending to be, there is no other logical reason, IMO.

And £2k! Not £430 which is what you'll currently pay new for a watch like my VSF Factory 114060, no date Submariner (which I paid £280 for on a well known replica watch trading forum).
The owner of my biggest customer has a gen 116610 (same watch, but with a date) and to our 50y/o eyes and hands they're otherwise identical. When I asked him what he was thinking as he wore mine he said "that I spent about £7.5k too much!".
It has a replica 3135 movement, has now been serviced, water proof tested and regulated (for £130). It runs at +2 seconds a day.
You would have to remove the back or know the serial number (it's S19, a well known sign of a rep) to know it's not gen. It's better finished than my CW C63 GMT or my Tudor smiley face BB Heritage.
I've also got a ZF factory Hulk, that's a mid range rep, it feels pretty good hands on but the movement feels like it's very fragile, it's really hard to get into the date change position, then you'll be winding it and it'll hop into the date set, the date sometimes gets stuck half way through changing etc. It's probably exactly what you'd expect a replica movement to feel like. It runs at about +15 secs a day.
I also have a cheap (£130) two-tone Sub, it's got a cheap Asian movement, alters time the wrong way, doesn't quick change the date at all! And it just feels cheap, the bracelet links are stiff in places, loose in others, it feels unfinished. It runs pretty well though +6 seconds a day, but beats at 21600bph so that's an instant tell if you're close enough to see. In every measurable way it's a worse watch than my PRX but it does look like a two tone Rolex, so I like it.

Why perpetuate sensationalized hyperbole? With 8.8 million people, 415 thousand total reported thefts, of which fewer than 7 thousand thefts are watches (per London Metropolitan Police), if you’re reasonably prudent you really shouldn’t worry about getting mugged for your watch.

If you spend $3000 on a fake Patek, you need to reconsider things. I say that with the utmost respect.
You can run to $3k easily, refinished everything, 3rd party dial and hands, maybe even gen (solid gold) rotor.
I've seen fake 5711's sell for north of $10k, gen hands, dial, date wheel, gen solid gold rotor, polished and refinished everything. Machined to correct height.
No one, NO ONE, even a dealer would spot it as a fake.

I've got fakes, homages and gens, and so have most watch enthusiasts I know.
I've got a gen Tudor Black Bay Heritage (smiley face), I honestly would choose to keep my fake Submariner over it (to wear, obv not for it's value). It's an outright better watch, better finished too.

Well I want fake but I’m embarrassed wearing it. Although lots of people including my friends wear. I wear Louis Vuitton purse but I don’t wear it as often as I used to. I’m always working with poor people (like me) and I don’t want to insult them. I don’t even drive my Benz gts because it’s a gas gazzler. At the same time, only wealthy people cares about it. I work all the time so I don’t have time to drive it. I’ve owned corvette and all my friends and friends of friends drove it. I bought it because I like the car. I have Benz gts 2022 and m4 2023 now but I drove my toyota or my hyundai because they’re hybrid. I like those authentic stuffs like other women but again what do I have to prove? Cant wear it because everyone will be thinking I have money. Then ask me to lend them money.

@@fontyyy says the man beating a dead horse. In one sense, as a content creator, of course I care. I also care enough to try and talk people out of the cheap lie that is a fake watch. But I don't care what any given person chooses to do with their money, time, and taste. If wearing a lie is that important to you, nobody can stop you.

True, but this was once the best you can get. I speak often about how modern manufacturing elables better fakes. But is a fake ok if it is "good"? What about the fraud and connections to organized crime?
