There are better fakes out there, but this is the kind of #fakewatch you see pretty much everywhere. It is because of #watches like this that real Rolex owners always get asked if theirs is fake.

Do you have a particular brand or supplier of NATO straps you could recommend. I’d like to find some high quality straps for my Seiko 5 Sport. I bought one from a Seiko dealer, but I think the strap is a little small since the buck doesn’t sit on the underbelly of my wrist, but more on the side of my wrist.
Another great video. I know the editing in this took some time to pull this video together. Thanks for bringing to us!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Change the bezel to a 24 format and you have a Glycine Airman for under $200 US!
Hey Alix. Cool combos with a very cool vintage piece. This was a fun episode! Thanks for sharing !
Glad you liked it!
My friend miyota is very reliable and quarts is more accurate in time then a automatic movement. Japanese are as good as swiss factory made. Handmade swiss movements is something else. Chinese is a whole other quality. But i get it if you copy it do it good. And breitling used miyota movements in the past.
Fakes are fakes. You can tell yourself whatever you like.
@@TalkingTimepieces true fake is fake. but i was talking about the movement not about fake or not.
@@shaggy01985 I didn't bother. Of course quartz is more accurate, go buy one. Only the best Asian movements are on par with European, if you think Miyota is as good as Nomos or Longines we don't share the same frame of reference.
@@TalkingTimepieces nomos and longines are other quality movements my friend. Not factory made but handmade. Miyota, seiko (japan) ronda (swiss). Are factory made reliable movements. I was giving examples. But it is oke. If you don’t understand movements or watches. You probably not a watchmaker.
@@shaggy01985 yes, you are the watch expert. I stand humbled.
Nice looking watch Alix and very versatile Have you tried it on a bright blue rubber strap to match that lovely seconds hand sweep?.. 💪 Cheers brother
Thanks for the tip! Take care, my brother!
I have a blue strap, but sadly it's only a 20mm
The black and silver is great with an old style brown lether band, definitely takes it to the next level. Side note, earnshaw made a knock off of this costing 5k...
Thanks for the info!

@TalkingTimepieces thankyou I really wanna see it! I hope you still got the blue navitimer gmt to make the video with cause it's a beautiful watch, I never regretted buying it at least :P
Hard to beat movements! 👍

Did you just make a review on a watch you didnt put on at all in the video? but in fact put on another watch instead?

Never heard so much bullshit. Only loosers buy homages. If you cant afford the real deal get a nice seiko or even casio. Don’t pretend to be someone you are not.

Awesome, thank you!
My humble opinion: integrated bracelet are over emphasized in the watch industry, I had just bought (a few decades ago) an Ebel watch which case only accommodates their integrated bracelet & straps. Since the Ebel line has passed to Movado who have discontinued their bracelet. There are no more distributors for these that I know😡. Some wise guys had bought excess stock & sell them at $1K .😳 Always think in this disposable society that product line will never go forever. This is why my new watches do not have integrated lugs. On a same subject choose a watch with a normal lug width: 18 mm., 20 mm., 22 mm., etc.! This will leave you plenty of choices at a normal price. 😊 Food for thought! Another great show! 👍❤️👌 All the best! Johnny
Thanks for the insightful input!!
Half the time I'm deciding what strap I want to wear today as much as which watch. When I purchase a new watch, while it's in transit I'm already thinking which strap I'm going to wear it with - certainly not the one it comes with! Crazy but fun.
It is pronounced Lonjin
Thanks for the info
What is a 24 hour indicator?
In this case it shows a second time zone
Nice video tnx

or cartier santos….. 😊 I purchased several aftermarket strapa for my santos good video
Glad you liked it!!
I used to think this was a really nice watch then I started looking at Grand Seikos (their quartz movement line) and hmm I mean this is still a nice watch but it's sorta plain in a lot of areas
The Grand Seiko is three times the price
Very cool piece! And it's more within my reach, Christopher Ward makes some really nice stuff, I'm finding out. Thanks Alix, for another awesome episode! Enjoy your weekend.
You too, my friend!!
For some reason, integrated bracelet watches don’t do much for me. Probably a look that I’d have to acquire a taste for.
I am not a big fan myself, although my Accutron has an integrated bracelet. It isn't very Genta-esque, thankfully
My man………….
I've had my eye on the XII since it launched. I think it's the best affordable integrated bracelet design out there. Many people compare the XII to the Czapek Antarctique, which IMO does have a lot of overlap. I was fortunate to pick up the CW skeletonized Concept a while back, which has the same movement as the new skeletonized XII. The movement is rock solid. It keeps perfect time no matter how much I abuse it as one of my everyday pieces. The extended power reserve is very handy. The standard 40-ish hour reserves are not keeping up anymore. I wish the titanium option had additional colorways. The titanium varient has a higher grade Selita movement with a longer power reserve and COSC cert. I've had so many issues with the SW200, I tend to avoid them. Same for the Soprod varient of the movement. I had to send back two CWs for service due to helicoptering of the SW200 and a soprod version for another manufacturer. No other selita movement has had this issue for me. ETA versions have always been good performers. I've passed on several watches because they house the SW200.
Thanks for the great feedback!
If I didn't have the ice blue PRX automatic I'd certainly look at this one. From what I've seen the CW has far superior finishing.
Great video!! It's actually called the Twelve because it's a 12-sided polygon case...Dodecagon. It's a fantastic piece. Very similar to a Czapek but MUCH cheaper!!
Thanks for the info!
I’m waiting for them to come out with the 69.
@@JimmieJohn 🤣🤣
You just don't service a $40 watch... which this one is.
Yet it cost several hundred, go figure
As mentioned, a lot of the watches were assembled from ordered pieces. The marks are hallmark stamps referring to the case not necessarily to the movement maker. Identifying movements could be tricky since the bridge design was deliberately changed to be able to sell the watch to different resellers. There could be a makers mark on the dial side of the movement. The keyless works is also another “fingerprint” to ID such a movement
Thanks for the info!
I'm really looking forward to picking up a first release from a new Australian microbrand called "Ocean to Orbit". The model is called the "Lhotse" and it looks fantastic.
Ooh, I must look into that!
"For luxury brands, collectors are a nuisance". So true! Also, Christopher Ward need to sort out their online ordering fulfilment systems and customer support before they can keep growing. Two orders from them over the last couple of years, and both times there have been issues. Really disappointing to see.
Great watch, great german quality and history, that definitely a point for a watchcollector, you can’t demand more in that price range its an absolute must 😄i personally prefer the typ b version
Well said!
Hi Alix, really enjoying your content and learning much as I've only been in the "serious collector" category for about 5 years. I've really been enjoying Yema watches and wonder what your opinion and thoughts on them are. My "integrated bracelet/Gerald Genta" style piece is the Yema Urban Traveler and I really like it. Thanks for covering Tudor as that is the brand that attracts me. I own a Black Bay 41 Heritage burgundy dial (2nd gen), in house movement. I've enjoyed that so much that I pulled the string on the ultimate tool watch IMHO, the Pelagos FXD US Navy version. Anyway, thanks for sharing your depth of knowledge.
The Yema is a great watch from a company with a great legacy. Those Tudors aren't shabby either!
cool 👍
super video tengo el tc 2 es una leyenda de rteloj
That’s not even close to some of the super clones of today?
True, but this was once the best you can get. I speak often about how modern manufacturing elables better fakes. But is a fake ok if it is "good"? What about the fraud and connections to organized crime?
@@TalkingTimepieces i'll personally send you $2,000 if you can provide a single example of organized crime tied to super clones. You should go walk around the bronx at 2 am, maybe you'll see some real organized crime then buster lmfaoo

Cool!
Recently was gifted a 70's diver (60m) made by Kienzle from Germany. Their history is like a German "Timex". Servicing it is costing several times its value...but it's a cool looking watch from a little known brand here in Canada and perhaps the US. Not a micro by any means but perhaps not collected.
I've got a WWII Keinzle pocket watch, but no wrist pieces. There are some i teresting German gems out there
I have the Ginault Silent Service diver. It takes a lot of cues from the Submariner. It has a well regulated Sellita SW200-1. It loses 2 spd. It’s been said that it’s 9/10 of a Rolex for 1/10 the price. I would agree. It’s a well made watch. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a name brand watch, but when I think about the money that remains in my bank account instead of Rolex’s trust fund, the thought quickly slips away! I think I’d rather support the smaller brand, brands like RGM or Dorn Bluth and the likes than to spend money with the big boys.
I also run a Silent Service daily and it’s been an absolute collection spoiler. When morning comes, I don’t want to reach for anything else. Between the look, the light play, the visibility, the dial, the details.. I pass up watches that cost $1000 more than the Ginault regularly because it just does everything *right*.
@@korebanregime I wear mine in the lake regularly and I just love being able to not baby it.
Size and colour wise I prefer the Ocean Rover 2... but quite expensive for a regulated Sellita SW200 movement... $1,799.
I love my Ocean Rover 2. The only improvement they need to make is to switch from a SW200-1 to a SW200-1b for the no-date version, so the no-date version doesn't have a ghost position, but other than that - it's amazing.
@@thegorn yeah, I have the date version with cyclops but I know those that don’t dislike the ghost pos.
Microbrands stimulates the rest of the watch industries, I remember roughly 10 years ago Duxot came out with a relatively low priced Titanium diver. Timing in business is essential, they were too early for the watch enthusiasts, the watch industry hadn’t yet dabbled with Titanium & interest was elsewhere. Dan Henry is another example: they were fairly innovative with meca-quartz chronograph (Mechanical Quartz chronographes: the time is kept by quartz yet the chronograph is mechanical), thus lowering manufacturing cost for the buyer. Dan Henry being a chronograph collector himself knows what’s good looking or not. So they gradually entered this market early. Many border line mainstream outfits are getting gradually on this band wagon also. These are but a small sampling of innovative thinking which stimulates immensely the watch industries. Kudos to them ! 👌❤️👍
Great input, thanks!
I love my Wolbrook mechaquartz chrono
