I have severe anxiety among other things personally, so if you are a little afraid of trying new things, stepping outside your comfort zone is a good way to determine more of what you like/don't like & will help you learn a bit more of who you are if that makes sense ♡

I've watched hundreds of short films and animations but none have managed to make me cry ridiculously hard until this one. the music, the shadow of the kid as it flees into their imagination and the shattered adult becoming whole again in the hug... I've genuinely never seen or read anything that encapsulates the emotions all around it as well as this film. Thank you and please keep creating
The image of the cats shatters beginnings to fade as they hug their childhood self has me in tears, as an artist its so easy to get caught up in the busy life of an adult and only focus on the final peice, on how to make this perfect and how to make it work to others. you forget the kid who picked up a pen not because they had to, not because they were perfect at it, but because it was fun. I think the refined skills of an adult can tie to the fun and carlessness of having fun, its just knowing when its okay to let go- be imperfect, make it messy, do what you enjoy.
Absolutely in love with this, perfectly encapsulates childhood memories and how damaging it can be too look back at the memories with jealousy over the fact that you can’t experience it again. In my opinion :)

wow, this is beautiful. i always find myself getting that really sickly nostalgic feeling, where i can just barely feel my childhood again and the memories are all fuzzy and warm. but it always slips away from me and i have to keep growing up. this is very healing. i can't ever be that little kid again, but i can always carry a piece of them with me. we can be friends again
how emotional.. I like the relationship between light and shadow, it gives me an almost maternal comfort in accepting the past as it was, even with scars.

I’m sorry I left
i keep coming back to this video occasionally and it's an overwhelming wave of emotions and thoughts every time. i almost never post comments on videos but this legitimately brings me to tears every single time, your taste in music and artstyle are just on a whole other level. never stop animating, please
it's two am and while theoretically only one teardrop fell from my eye, I sorta feel like I've cried for half an hour, but the video is only 2 minutes and a half. That's how deeply that got me, the art style put it so well together. I have no words, what a great timing for this to be on my recommended.

please never stop making things like this; mid air thief is one of my favorite artists, but i’d forgotten about them and hearing that signature ring of their music made me tear up within the first ten seconds. the art is beautiful. all of it is beautiful
to me, this animation screamed escapism. while the main character and the kitty jump along and seem happy, they completely ignore the shadow character. i believe this is because while they are growing up, they are avoiding unhappy thoughts and feelings, diving completely into escapism. they don’t allow themself to recover from the trauma they once endured. eventually, it catches up to them and they are left broken, until finally, they confront themself head on, and they are at peace. but anyway, this video changed something in me. i am so genuinely astonished at the beauty of this animation. you have made something truly remarkable

I love the writing and drawings on the walls in the room at the end, the "floore" and " calARts" 😭🩷I especially love how the art style changes for the pink cat as they get older, from crayon scribbles to more details and neatyly colored in. Sane for the white cat, they also look like they have more details too, cute little sewn patches , until the younger cat comes back and it's back to more crayon scribbles which is also a really neat detail ! It's like the art style is progressing, from the white cat being blank, then cryaon scribbles, then more im literally so obssed 😭😭😭 and the animation fits the song so well conveys the mood perfectly its so so amazing

I don’t think I’ve ever relate to an animation this hard before. The visuals and how they progress was spot on in capturing the mind of a kid so much, and how they grow up. popping back to say my dad had a really interesting take on the video. He saw it as a the death of a childhood cat, and the feeling of loss being imprinted on their childhood/youth. The end shows the character finding that same feeling of love in their child when they're older. Very interesting and literal take, cheers!

this is genuinely so amazing and i think its telling that so many comments compliment how emotional it is, because this film really is just a visualization of emotions. i love when abstract art goes right and this a shining example of it ideas like "childhood" and "growing" are placed into our brains just by the visuals and music, and all it takes is some time to think about the film as a whole to put these ideas together and uncover a meaning. its not cryptic or mysterious, the meaning is there if you search for it. and those who don't search for it still understand enough to have an emotional experience. i just think this is a shining example of animation and film in general when it comes to portraying meaning and i just really love it sorry if this is too longwinded and i dont want to sound pretentious its just really nice :)

I freakin love MAT and have been digging for any content with it can’t believe it took me a year to find this. The animation reflects the texture mood and dynamics of the song so nicely and the story it tells is touching. Super inspiring as well will definitely wanna tackle a mat animation now!!

This was so hard to watch. I wanted to cry but something in me just held me back. Feels like my inner child is crying.

i genuinely dont think ive seen much more creativity in a short film before, this is easily the best short film ive ever seen and its not even close
Consistent through your work is an amazing usage of texture and massive color to convey juxtaposed feelings that come with being an artist and being alive. Great work
this is genuinely so amazing and i think its telling that so many comments compliment how emotional it is, because this film really is just a visualization of emotions. i love when abstract art goes right and this a shining example of it
ideas like "childhood" and "growing" are placed into our brains just by the visuals and music, and all it takes is some time to think about the film as a whole to put these ideas together and uncover a meaning. its not cryptic or mysterious, the meaning is there if you search for it. and those who don't search for it still understand enough to have an emotional experience.
i just think this is a shining example of animation and film in general when it comes to portraying meaning and i just really love it sorry if this is too longwinded and i dont want to sound pretentious its just really nice :)
While I may not have the same emotional experience with the themes that others commenting seem to have, I still felt my heart aching and in awe at this film. The visuals are just unreal and the imagery potent. Just amazing unbelievable job! Excited for what art you will continue to make and this.
