- Abby Lee Miller is furious with American Airlines after she says she was left on the airport floor for 40 minutes when she fell out of her wheelchair earlier this week. Miller told Inside Edition that an American Airlines employee had trouble getting her into her wheelchair and Miller ended up on the floor of Pittsburgh International Airport. "It was scary," Miller said. "Really scary." The "Dance Moms" star posted a photo to Instagram showing her beside her wheelchair. #InsideEdition

In this day and age it's all down to health and safety...the airport should have had a mobile hoist and harness.we were always told to think if it was safe for us to help a person up. We could have hurt oursives trying to get a person of the floor.

some of the situations were scripted anyways, it was edited to make it seem wayyy more dramatic but the girls were still scarred by the whole experience (probably more by producers)

Someone else who uses a wheelchair literally has told me the same thing. It's a problem for most if not all airlines it's a matter of lack of accessibility and lack of training.
Unfortunately this is all too common. After having a few problems with American Airline with my disabilities and service dog, I switched to delta and southwest. They treat their disabled customers with the best care and respect

Let's be honest here it's true that the incident was quite saddening but it's not the duty nor the job of the airport staff to babysit people or getting up someone who can't get up on their own they could help them as a gesture of faith and Good Will sure but it's not their duty nor their job don't take it as such and it's not like she was in any harm's way or critical injury for them to call an ambulance or the like (don't mistake peoples goods will and kindness as duty because it is not) whether you like it or not that's the truth.

I like that instead of a lawsuit she said they would receive training. That is the right way this should be handled. I actually found a paraplegic that had fallen out of her handicap accessible car. She said she had been on the ground yelling for over 20 minutes. I helped her into her car, she was very grateful and I was humbled.

I am not disabled, but I think if I was that helpless when out in the world, I would travel with a very large strong nurse helper. It would be nice if we could count on the kindness of strangers, but we can't!
