  • How To Get Rid of Mice and Rats with Black pepper
    #pestcontrol #blackpepperbenefits #rodentremoval
Rodents, such as rats and mice, have a strong sense of smell which lures them to discarded food.
Since mice rely so heavily on their strong sense of smell, there is a strong substance which can deter them from entering your home and trying to find food.
Evidence in studies show that the use of black pepper is both a humane and effective tactic for keeping mice and other rodents away.
Since mice rely on their sense of smell, the strong potency of black pepper will make them think twice when coming around certain areas of your home.
Containing the bioactive compound piperine, this active ingredient in black pepper naturally irritates mice and rodents.
Therefore this is a great way to keep rodents like mice and rats away and it also reduces the appetites of the females, thus reducing the amount of reproduction in the process.
The less they eat, the less they mate and create offspring.
The idea of sprinkling black pepper around your kitchen and outside perimeter may seem silly enough, but it will force them to avoid the area.
Rodents, however, are slick and determined to find ways to get what they want but black pepper will deter them.
More than likely, there is some black pepper on your spice rack right now.
Why not give this method a try?
Thankfully, there are multiple ways to repel mice with black pepper.
You can simply get a concentration of black pepper like Essential Oil and create a spray to repel mice.
For every cup of water, add 10-15 drops of black pepper essential oil and place it into a spray bottle.
You now have a mice and rat repellent!
Alternatively you can Use Ground Black Pepper. Simply place small piles of black pepper where the mice are most seen and that should do the trick!
This includes inside cabinets, on counters, and under furniture.
If your house is kept somewhat messy, they could also become comfortable under clothing and other cluttered areas.
It is also a good idea to use coffee filters to house the pepper as it will help keep the spice contained and easy to spot.
Mice will avoid the pepper regardless of how it is distributed, so you might as well keep your pepper piles from getting out of hand!
It is important to note that once exposed to air, the black pepper will lose its potency over time.
It is best to replace the black pepper piles or bags every 24-hours to ensure the highest effectiveness.
Black pepper can be purchased in large quantities if needed.
As you may not know how many mice there are or where they like to hide, it can be good to experiment with the size and location of the piles of black pepper.
Add more pepper to areas you see fit and record results daily to ensure proper control.

I don't want to irritate or deter rats and mice. Nor would I use a 'catch & release' method to control them. Rats and mice are endangered species if they come anywhere near me.

To keep the smelly stuff…use a grated cheese empty, or spice bottle. It has shaker holes.
If you use baking soda or diatomaceous earth, wet it down with the essence oil, or ammonia. Leave the cap open, the smell will come through the shaker holes.
It’ll last for months. Check often just to move around.
    Renew with more oil.
It’s easier to do with neighbors. It’s an area problem, work with others. Record what works.
Go in with others to hold down costs. Even if dollar store, it gets expensive.
Won’t work for everybody, but mesh bags with used kitty litter. Don’t just toss it. Put in old socks, that way you can retrieve it and move around.
Startpage or duck duck go have terrific photos of owls. See under images….did we run some copies? Why yes, Use a page protector or wide clear tape for weather resistance.
Did we post on a string so it would move around in a light breeze? Yes.
As you do these things, make a few for neighbors. Offer to change the cats box for an elderly neighbor. Win-win.
Not all cats are good mousers, BTW.
Where is science…can’t we make them extinct ?

Caught a mouse in my old apartment on a sticky trap one night, put him out in the garage so I could sleep without the noise and after the glue got cold enough he got loose and came back inside harder to catch.
Guess I should have gotten him a flea collar and a litter box.
I mean he would lick peanut butter off a spring trap, finally put the peanut butter under the trip mech, took a few weeks.

These days the cats rats and mice have become Pally/! In India in my servants house they had a cat . My servant took pity on the cat and giving a little milk in the morning and some cooked rice in the afternoon and night So it stayed and chased or caught big mice ! A male came visiting and there were 4 babies all becoming big and so for some time no rodents problems. But after that the mom became too tired and lazy so no catching them and babies being playful, chasing them was fun and so the rodents returned - finally all became friends and nobody catches anyone and so the mice and rats have a field day getting through gaps of the front entrance and nibbling on tomatoes, capsicum and potatoes and whatever they can , that we contacted Pest control who left sticky patch traps outside in the compound and many were caught and they took them away and killed them- they said by drowning them in buckets of water!! That’s what I heard! Poor rodents-feeling very sorry for them but couldn’t be avoided as the destruction was too much because they nibbled all the dresses and made holes !! Shaaantha Baalakrishnan

I've never heard of using black pepper before. I know they don't like peppermint.
If you want to get rid of them forever, I found something that really works.
I heard they can't digest instant mashed potatoes. I put some down in a dish and added Epsom salt. I also put a dish of water close by because I knew the critters would be thirsty.
I had 2 large rats in my apartment and they soon disappeared after I left this treat and I've never seen any more since.
The instant potatoes should work fine by itself but I added the Epsom salt just to speed things up. And since salt makes them thirsty, the process was faster. Just don't forget to leave water too.
      Hope this helps you.

The most simple thing that works every time snd lasts for a very very long time is to use bear mace in crawl spaces and storage areas etc. Under he ho in your vehicle stay away from vent intakes, and underneath every area of access. Do this wearing protection. After sprayin just a short blast in all the areas leave them closed up and go away for a good hour. When you return put on your mask, open everything to air out and use fans in the main areas that people live and use. This will leave micro traced of mace everywherethat rofents despise but wont be detected by humans. Dint do this if you have pets.
    Youre welcome!

    • @rswow
      @rswow 6 месяцев назад +2

You can't. They own the land. lol. At least, where I live. You catch and catch and catch but they just keep coming back. They are impossible to get rid of. Just control them from entering the house. That though I can't do so easily as they get thru from the attic that's poorly made (along with other house features where the builder cut many many corners) with gaps all around the perimeter. So I sealed off the fireplaces where they were entering from via the attic. Now we need to change the aged garage door as it has noticeable gaps at the bottom, letting mice free reign in the garage.
