They're supposed to indicate when a cow isn't scanned into the parlor correctly for tracking. However, it was never setup, so the lights just flash whenever the parlor is active.
Nice clean white milk that isn't watery, flakey, clotted, or discolored. All signs of mastitis. swollen teats, a small quarter, a hot utter can also be signs. The milk plant also does a quality insurance test multiple times before the milk is processed.
I do see an auto milking parlour , don't you think is time to upgrade yours ? .... Much love from Nigeria .. I wish I can I just have a full day virtually tour around your farm and daily activities
They just had their new parlor built less than 5 years ago. They plan to upgrade to a rotary parlor, but that will probably be many years in the future.

Jan -- aren't you terrified like at 1:08, with those ladies all coming at you? A politician in our Minnesota Legislature just said that cows are dangerous and will trample a human into dust -- which is why farmers have to always carry a loaded gun with them.* Funny, I don't see Jan wearing a holster & six-shooter! Never wore one on our farm, either. (As if such a gun would even deter a stampeding herd!) * He was arguing against a bill requiring child-safe storage for guns in homes.
getting all info i can i start on a farm monday, first time ever working a farm they said ill be driving truck hauling crop barn to barn and milking any advice?

Hahaha that was a great ride when the cow started licking the camera
Hi Jan, have you ever considered putting in automated alley scrapers?
Yes, but they decided that they would require too much maintenance, due to the sand bedding.
I'm curious what are the flashing orange beacons in the parlour for?
They're supposed to indicate when a cow isn't scanned into the parlor correctly for tracking. However, it was never setup, so the lights just flash whenever the parlor is active.
When you give the teats a squeeze, what exactly are you looking for to insure the milk is safe to be collected for human consumption. Cheers
Nice clean white milk that isn't watery, flakey, clotted, or discolored. All signs of mastitis. swollen teats, a small quarter, a hot utter can also be signs. The milk plant also does a quality insurance test multiple times before the milk is processed.

Leak in inflation. Wash water got into the vacuum line. Maybe
Do you ever move all the cows out of the building and do a clean/ sanitize from ceiling to floor??
Jan -- aren't you terrified like at 1:08, with those ladies all coming at you?
A politician in our Minnesota Legislature just said that cows are dangerous and will trample a human into dust -- which is why farmers have to always carry a loaded gun with them.*

I believe there is one cow that does not like being filmed by the way she attacked your camera
How do you not get attached to the cows? I saw your video on your one “pet” cow that likes her back scratched lol. I would want to keep them all.
How much is the cost of the milking system?
What about these new brushes for prepping the teeth?any quicker I wonder.
How are the are the new Delaval activity monitoring system working? Any review videos on the way?
It’s great and I’m working on a complete review
Giant tongue monster seen on video. lol.
how many cows milking and what is the prodution?
congratulions
nice cows and barms
They average around 300 cows. Their record high is around 360. Their cows average 33L (8.71 gallons) per day.
Where do you get your water from lots of pressure.
It's well water. However, they have large holding tanks after their filtration system. (Lots of iron in their water)
What are those light flashes on the ceiling during milking?
They're supposed to indicate when a cow isn't scanned into the parlor correctly for tracking. However, it was never setup, so the lights just flash whenever the parlor is active.
What was actually wrong in the claw?
Does a cow return to the same bed after milking or feeding?
Do u run premium in your raptor?
Of course
