Nest Protect Install/Replacement

As an early adopter of technology I realize it usually is not perfect on the first go around. I started with all Nest Protect Gen 1's and I now am almost completely upgraded to Gen 2's after many failures. This vid shows me installing/replacing a Gen 1 for a Gen 2. Full Review here:

What do you do with the old expired protects? Reset them? Just chuck em?
