    • @jayangli
      @jayangli 4 года назад +1

      Fazlur Rahman Khan please let me know about the challenges. I can't see it being much of a problem for younger students without needing to get a job. But for people working, and have kids. It isn't so easy. Is it an assignment per week. So 7 days to do an assignment, this right?

    • @rstrajt9220
      @rstrajt9220 4 года назад

      It is actually a LOT of work. There is new reading material each week which could take you a day to get through and another day to do research. Each course has 3 assignments per week and 6 assignments to grade for which you have to do some research to grade it fairly. If you take 2 courses at a time to finish in 2 or 4 years, it will be very difficult, even full time. There is a test week 3 and 6 and an exam end of week 8. I went to a 'regular' uni before and it was not a quarter of the work here.

    • @uopeople
      @uopeople  3 года назад

      Hi SherrylJoy, please note that universities are typically accredited in the countries where they are established. Since we are established in the US, we are only accredited in the US by the DEAC. The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) [a regional accreditor] has also recently determined that we are 'Eligible' to apply for accreditation with them. Please feel free to reach out to the ministry of education in Philippines regarding the acceptability of US accredited degrees there. You will also be able to request that our registrar notarizes your degree and transcript for you here in the US when you graduate from our program, before we mail your degree and transcript to your house address.

      @uopeople  5 лет назад +3

      Hi Michele, yes it should. We are accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission. The Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency.
      We have not pursued accreditation in any other country - that said, in many countries, being accredited in the U.S. means that it is highly respected. Please visit the US Department of Education university search link below and type ‘University of the People’ into the Name of Institution field and click the search button to confirm our accreditation status:
      ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx
      Alternatively, please visit directorysearch.deac.org/school/detail.aspx?schoolid=73 to verify. Or check www.chea.org/university-people
      You should also reach out to the ministry or department of education in your country to find out if our degree will be accepted there.

That said, kindly note that the acceptability of the degree you earn at University of the People is at the complete discretion of the institution you present the degree to for further education purposes. If you are looking to use your UoPeople degree to apply for another institution's Master's program, please verify that our degree will be acceptable at the other institution by asking them directly.

That being said, we can’t guarantee that our degrees or credits will be accepted by other international academic institutions or employers, since this is determined by each institution individually. Many of our students and graduates report continuing their education at universities including NYU, MIT, the University of Auckland (New Zealand), the University of Nairobi (Kenya), Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) and many more. I think seeking another option is in order. For me college education when you are poor is an illusion. I seldom hear rich kid unable to finished college because they aren't mentally up to the task,in fact I hear stories of kids and student who have excelled in their primary education but couldn't pursue more because of their financial status.
