Such a small line that became an ongoing gag. I love that it became shorthand for whenever a game had a disconcerting or poorly designed element.
One of my faves. The fact that they both had literal tears they had to wipe away.
And it quickly became a classic line
I absolutely lost it at 'rat-physics'.... unbelievably entertaining
What I love about the "Games are Back" clip is it's a outtake and not one of the polished moments. Also, it pretty much expresses the underlying theme for this year combined with Ellen's squeeing at the cats and glitches in Stray. "I love video games!" "The eyes! Why Luke, why?!" "Improved Rat physics"... "Because Games are back, baby!"

not going to lie, I fully understand why it was not featured in this video but my favourite bit from this year and perhaps ever was Luke and Andy talking over the sex bed in the 7th guest

Luke and Andy going through cycles of composing themselves and then breaking down laughing again, repeating "Game are back!" all the while, was definitely my favorite. I'm looking forward to whatever you lot get up to next!

The whole "games are back" bit still has me crying laughing even watching it again. I will say I did laugh pretty damn hard at the reveal of Friede being a 3 phase boss fight back when it happened live. I'm so glad some Blades in the Dark bits made it in. I binge-watched the whole thing in the past week or so and I love it so much. The hysterics about the sex bed was the highlight of the FMV Luke and Andy played. So many presh mems this year. Thank you for them. It's been a rather rough year and I'm so glad I've had Oxboxtra and Oxventure there to keep me going.
One of my personal favorite moments was in Blades in the Dark when Edvard stepped into that room in Foundry No. 12 and pulled out a frag grenade and the music started with perfect timing.

I cannot possibly overstate how delighted I was to see Orpheo's Curse on the list. That entire video is pure gold.
I am not a horror fan (movies or games), but I watched nearly all of Hallowstream this year. Very fun! Great showing by Ellen to tolerate the jump scares, Luke to tolerate the FMV zone, and everyone for playing and commenting.
The FMV Zone is always a highlight. Luke and Andy playing awful FMV games together is perfection.
I can't believe the "sex bed" part of the 7th Guest playthrough with Andy and Luke wasn't included on here. That was hilarious.

They went looking for that clip, but no matter what time code they skipped to, they wound up back in the library with another chess puzzle.

Ah Presh mems indeed, oxbox and oxtra are the first channels I subbed to and are just absolutely, unrelenting, charming, helped me get through lockdowns and illnesses and whatnot. Long may they continue.
These are some hilarious and amazing presh mems. Games Are Back, and that Stray "Doc Mitchell" glitch was just... like a pet trick. "Whee" indeed lmao.
Little left corner Ellen being so stoked on the dark souls kill at the start made me night.
Did Andy & Luke lose it in the Games Are Back segment because of how jauntily Luke started talking about the "gruelling slog" through a medieval hellscape, and so it felt tonally inappropriate? I can't quite figure what cracked them up 😂
Yeah, the joke was that the intro was so upbeat and positive and then they slammed straight into talking about a grueling rat slog.
I think there's also an element of amusing absurdity because the game manufacturers/developers thought that "gruelling slog" would be an appealing description for the game. Plus the rat physics bit is just a very odd thing for gamers to have apparently been blown away by 😂
@@dee... I don't think that was official copy from A Plague Tale's marketing. I don't think most people, or honestly anyone but Luke or Andy, would refer to a game as a gruelling slog and then go on to praise "rat physics" later on.

I lost it as soon as the "Games are back!" Title appeared. That entire sequence is gold.

The fact that there's 3 phases to that fight is just ridiculous. It feels pretty conclusive after the second. They should have just scrapped the first one and done something more like O&S (of course) where the one that dies affects who gets powered up for the second phase.
Poppy Playtime was my favorite of the Fear Academies so far, because Ellen got *so* into it despite how terrified she was that she and Jane ended up going *way* over so they could finish. I also have no idea why children like these games lol

Ellen nearly dying laughing at the cat in the tram was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a stream, definitely my favourite Oxboxtra moment of the year.
Always love the precious memories and these are fine examples of that from this very 'Elden Ring' dominated year. Good job as always Luke, Ellen and Producer Jon. Makes me remember how much you guys did and achieved this year, to coin a phrase, you absolutely smashed it, again.
The combination of the cheeky Ellen-ing and the being really angry (seemingly) about phase 3 made my day.
