Wow, freedom from 1-3-5-8! Don't get me wrong, this approach has really beautiful tones and chords but with this diminished leading tones and passing diminished chords approach, its like a whole new world of music fact! You're really talented! This is a whole new way of approaching the guitar! Thanks!
Coming into this video already knew that thirds and sevenths would occur frequently in the left hand and upper structure voicings in the right hand. This has given me a fresh perspective on what to do. Do you make liberal use of block chords?
Very nice. Very useful. One question- when you play an F chord in the right hand over the left hand G minor 11, what is the whole chord(the 2 chords combined) called? Is it now what’s known as a polychord?
written12 Hello my friend! Typically I will play the F major chord in my right hand and the G minor9 in my left hand. The two chords combined will make the G minor 11
written12 Thank you so much for watching. By playing the F major, The F will be the flat seven, the A will be the nine, and the C will be the 11th. Those numbers or scale degrees are in relation to the G major scale
I understand, I study a lot. May God bless your very life. I entered the site and saw that you sell some books. Which one should I start studying so that I can have a gradual study? Thank you very much for you time.
Hey man, I understand this video is old, shoot my comment is 5 years late aha but, do you do lesson or tuition or anything like that, there where a few things closer too the end I didn't get entirely. amazing video, singing and progression regardless :)
Hi Joel, thanks for the reply, it was mainly around the transposition at the end, I got lost as too how you transitioned etc. but im more interested into how to partake in lessons with you? I would love to learn more and be better and you seem like a great teacher haha
I just remembered my question you switched up the voicing at the end, it was originally 7-9-3-5 in the Left hand, but when you play cmin11 (near the end) you start at Eb in your left hand which is the 3rd, and have an entirely different voicing in the left hand why is this? am i getting it wrong lol, im not too sure.
And then just aftr writing that I realised it's the exact same chord you're playing just voiced differently. i.e. the 7-9 originally on top are now on the bottom, so it goes from 7-9-3-5 too 3-5-7-9 meaning less 'mud' when played in lower octaves haha awesome, finally got it. :)
Hey Richie, I haven't given skype lesson in the past typically because I haven't always had time. However, I do application videos for Haley Woodrow, and we are currently building archive content for several popular songs through her practical musician. Coming Soon! Thanks so much for watching!

Thanks again

You're wonderful!
bconnol7 God Bless! :) thanks for watching!
Hi Joel McCray. Thank you for this video. I'm From Brazil. From what I understand, before I get any minor chord I make two diminished chord before?
But the first diminished chord starts with the root is your minor chord. Example. If you are going to play at Cm11, the play Cdim7, Bdim7 then Cm11
