@@Jasesaster For sure! The resource system separates itself the most and we have built upon that to expand rules and create card types that are unique (ex. leaders). The faction types are also a big difference and we are currently working on the lore as well!
@@kingdomstcg That could probably be it’s own video but I make sure to create a theme, make sure I have equal spots for each factions cards and then create proxy’s to playtest
As a creator of may tcg games, I can attest to the "rules first" strategy. Save yourself the time effort and failures us vets have gone through and just plan out the rules. They can always be tweaked but you need structure as a cornerstone of your game.
@@mysticislandstcg Thanks for all these tips, honestly, it's helped me with my TCG over the past years and then I created a channel recently, so I can now finally show my support and subscribe to you, after trying to find your channel again!
@1:50 "No one should be copying from each other at all".. UH!? If you are making a TCG, you are already copying someone! And the only way things get better is by using the foundation and experiences gotten over time. There's little room for real innovation nowadays, but lots of space for improvement. So this makes this "tip" one of the worst things to say A face reveal doesn't add anything to your channel, either. The only thing lacking is giveaways 😂😂
Great video! The biggest thing that usually forces me to step back and take a break from frustration is the daunting amount of art I gotta keep making. 😅
What I did made a little bit of the rules for TCG and I start to draw randomly on my channel to get an idea "not really creating the cards right now." Is that a mistake on my part, or is just me doing my own style steps? Artifacts in my games are cards and recourses you can play them as cards and you use them as recourses it's a strange recourse build I create.
@@mysticislandstcg But word locked me for some reason I have to redo some the rules lol. Sometimes tech can be stupid facebook does that all the time to me.
I plan to rewrite and write more rules and talk on the channel if you like to watch and give me feedbacks because this is my first trading card I making for fun.
When i first made my game like you said i just went right into it didn't have and rules or guidlines so it put my game at a disadvantage but i think by now ive adapted my game and fixed it

Great video, I'm currently working on two HTCG. Testing with the community and getting there feedback. Something that I suggest is that even if the game doesn't receive positive feedback we must still working on the general theme and flow of the game. Is not necessary to change the game completely. Because I feel we can loss our vision of the game.
Any questions?
Have you gotten any experimental treatment to Mystic Islands that separates itself further from the games inspired by it? (Like you mentioned Mtg)

Agreed!!
What a wonderful day to have made HTCG with the art being only numbers (still gotta worry about fonts tho) (and the card frames yeah)
Awesome! Hopefully this helps me woth my HTCG! Might make a RUclips channel on it
Do it 🙌🙌

As we said, inspiration is awesome- just don’t obviously copy someone’s direct creation

Definitely something I understand at the moment! Hard to find the time
My card game that Im making uses a D20. I just like the idea of certain thing being put up to chance.

Definitely a balance, but at the end of the day the vision is the creators so I can’t argue with that at all
I'm working on the TCG I have two ideas
