Heads up, TGC's poker size are 1mm longer and wider than other standard size TCGs (Magic, Pokemon, etc). They will still fit in standard size sleeves, binders and deck boxes but might a tighter fit than usual. I can put my cards in Dragon Shield Mattes no problem but they are not as smooth as with standard cards.
I started making a card game based on characters created by me and my brother about half a year ago, and after watching your video tutorials on the game crafter and learning how to publish a game, I had finally brought characters that used to only live in my head out into the world. Been working on a TCG in my head and notes for over a year now. After watching a good handful of your vids I think I’m going to reach my hand out and make a pack
Hi Zack, just something quick I had spoken with someone at the game crafter a few months ago, it is possible to do a booster pack with 17 non holo and 1 holo cards. when creating the game you set up the normal booster pack then embed a custom game I to that pack and create a holo poker deck, simply select 17 cards in the non holo deck and 1 holo in the embedded deck, and you then get a booster pack with has non holos and contains 1 holo just like pokemon, yugioh etc, but it does bring the price up significantly
Yeah as mentioned below, u pay for the entire sheet so its mainly usefully if you do booster boxes like I'm planning to so you make full use off the holo sheet
Always great to see these Tutorials, Zack. I am still developing my own HTCG, but unfortunately don't find the time to draw due to my current work. But will be better by Autumn / Winter this year. So thanks again for the insight, I will always be fan of the Chaos Galaxy TCG, for sure :-)
My new publisher was already thinking about making a card game based on my book to go along with the board game. Now, thanks to this video, I not only see how this can be a reality but I’ve also gotten ideas for the other series the same publisher has. Very exciting times thanks to people like you!
hey zach huge fan here been watching since 2015, I love your content and you’ve inspired me to make a tcg when i was younger i’m starting to make a new one, i was hoping if you could make a video on how to play test and make rules for a tcg? thank you keep doing your thing i love all your videos
Thanks for the video guide! I couldn't figure out how to use the website properly so I didn't have much confidence. Once all my cards are finalised, I feel that I know what to do. =)
Friend and me started making a card game, we were unsure on how to market and sell this. Currently a year into production planning to release in April. Its quite addictive making a card game, Thanks for these videos. You gave us a clear idea on where we can go once we finish with this first Set!
This is really cool man. I am an English teacher and as a project we created a few nice games. Gonna get them done up nicely so that the kids Will remember:)
Very good tutorial. It’s super helpful for when you don’t know what to do since there are no instructions. (Edit) the game crafter has no instructions not this vid, just wanted to make sure that was clear :)
So, I am thinking of putting cards in a product with different backs, like how the Digimon TCG does and/or with Magic The Gathering's double sided cards. Any advice on how to do that with the game Crafter?
Hey, so if im better at drawing on paper, how would i scan it into the game crafter? or would i need to make it on a separate thing like photoshop, and dop you have any videos on it?
To put foils in a deck. Create a non-foil deck then, make a foil deck. Only put them in 1 package (Tuckbox). Although I do not recommend using foils what so ever because, they're surface get scratched super easilly and they are of poor quality in general on tgc.
Idk if you will see this, but what if you make cards that are meant to be duplicates like cards that are meant to be played together, I would call them "twin cards"... so you don't have to duplicate other common cards you just duplicate cards that are meant to be duplicated and make it a game mechanic
Hey Zack! Firstly, great thorough explaining of how to use the website! I actually just officially made my first product of my TCG and even made a couple of sales recently. I have a quick question if you’re able to answer it. I love the idea of having holo cards in booster packs like other tcgs, and I know TheGameCrafter has the option for foil cards. But I do not know how to be able to combine both regular cards and holo cards in a single booster pack. If you or anyone else could help that would be extremely helpful! Amazing video as always zack! Keep up the great work and have a great life!
Really good tutorial! I personally haven’t started on a tcg but have been thinking about it so I watched this video but I do have 1 question. When you publish a tcg pack for example the game crafter will take $5 and u get $1 (pack is $6) do u have to pay them $5 to publish it before hand or when someone buys ur product the game crafter will take 5$ of the pack and u get $1
Hey Zack, I was doing research and found out that you can buy unsealed booster packs with nothing inside them, so you can make your own packs. Have you ever done that before, and do you know how that works?
@@ChaosGalaxyTCG much appreciated, your video was super helpful, if i let you know when my first products are open to order, would you be up for opening them, I plan to do some RUclips about it to
Hey, Zack, I have been wanting to make a TCG for awhile not but I have two questions 1. does the Game Crafter offer more card types then just the four or five that you did common, rare, really rare, ridiculously rare. 2. I cannot figure out how to make the game play like how to attack and the mechanics of the game. Any tips, resources, etc that you know?
I've not used Game Crafter so can't help you with your first question but for your second question I would recommend just playing a lot of different TCG games to get inspired! It might help to define a theme (e.g. Historical, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Modern Day etc) and then that could help you focus your ideas. As an example, maybe if it's Historical theming the players could be commanding armies and link their unit cards into different formations, and this could form part of the battling system. Or alternatively, you could start from a gameplay perspective. Think about in basic terms what a player would do on a turn. How does a player play cards, will they have to pay a cost for the cards? What sort of cost? (eg. resource cards like Lands in Magic, Hearsthone style mana, sacrificing other cards on the battlefield, discard cards from hand etc). Are there different resource types like the mana colours in MTG or just one single resource? Are there different zones or Lanes you play your cards into, or is the battlefield more freeform like in Magic The Gathering? Do your units have a single Power stat like in Marvel Snap, or many (e.g Attack, Defence, Speed etc)? Does damage on units carryover between turns? Do units always attack, or do you choose when they attack and is there a cost or downside associated with attacking? There's no right or wrong way to approach game design, but by just thinking about what kind of game you want to make and how you'd answer those questions it might help to focus your ideas. Best of luck!
Nah you're good. Euro poker is the same size used by some major trading card games like Magic the gathering. Euro Poker is just slightly smaller than poker size and will fit into sleeves and binder sheets just fine (and depending on the sleeves/binder may fit even better than standard poker)
Haven’t you moved houses before? Also you voice recording a little odd because there were like 2 layers of voice of yourself and you sounded robot. You might need to fix that.

As long the game executes greatly, I'm not worried on how big the cards are, mabey small but not big.
That's a bit misleading in my opinion. However just knowing helps a lot with picking the right sleeves.
If you want the exact Pokémon size use Euro Poker Deck instead of the regular Poker Deck

Do you have to sell it on their website ? Or can you also use it only as a printing service and do the selling yourself ?
Do you have a video on how to make your tcg playable online? Like a digital game.
So if we are using the template- we want to replace the red border for the cutline with the grey?
