Hey! Found this video yesterday. Got so much inspiration from it. Today my 2 birds already have New playstand. One already tried it out (budgie) Other one takes its time yet, he is New also here. But i myself loove it. Thank You!
If I’m adding a 1 inch dowel I drill a 1 inch hole and add glue in the hole to ensure it doesn’t come out. This wouldn’t be super easy with a handheld drill. I used my drill press. Cheers!
Wood glue works well and dries hard but if you have a bird that chews the rope you'd want to avoid using glues and just try tying it on in knots. They do undo the knots but you just re-tie them.
@@LivingMyBestLifeIAm I would suggest finding a non toxic/natural wax dental floss it is great for tieing up their millet too as you don’t even need knots its so thin and sticks to itself the bird will have a much harder time getting it off (especially if you actually tie a knot hehe) you could tie a knot with your twine then go over top of it with the floss to strengthen it from his chewing :D
@@goldmemberr Thanks for the tips! My birds don't chew the ropes off of the playstand but I like the dental floss idea for millet. Clothes pins also work well for clipping treats up as the birds can chew the wood. I appreciate your input! 🥰

How do you attach the rope?
