Holy moly - here we go! This was me (Texan, 54 y.o., wife/mom of 3) seeing/hearing BTS by accident on YT four years ago. My song was 'MIC Drop' and I was instantly hooked despite never listening to pop or hip-hop/rap (I am a lifelong alternative rock fan)....I also did a deep dive and never looked back, I'm in BTS/ARMY for life.... It's because I don't know anyone else doing what they do - all the music genres, rap, vocals, amazing choreo, often seriously deep lyrics, being good people with hilarious personalities who share a deeply loving brotherhood amongst themselves....No one else in music has all this to offer. No one.

Same😆. I always watched this music critic because I respected the way he reviewed music. So when I saw he reacted to bts? I was skeptical I’ll admit because I never heard a proper kpop song let alone one from the biggest group out there. And it was the first time he was watching them too. But eventually I watched the reaction and boy was I surprised hearing them sing and rap and dance LIKE THAT in mic drop lmao😂. I was literally one of those people who thought all kpop music was lollipops and gummy bears😅. So let me tell you I was shook. Over time I came to accept and understand what they were really about and just had to know their names and find out more and well...the rest is history of course😁✌🏾💜

You can watch Run BTS, Bon Voyage, In the soop and so many others then you will see how they get along together. They've been together for 13 years and in June they complete 10 years from debut date! RM is the leader and Jungkook the main singer. He sang on World Cup opening. You will have the opportunity to discover how amazing and unique they are. Once you love them it will be forever 💜
@@rovianerosa not boys young men. They started as boys thats a whole 10 years ago, they are not boys anymore. A lot of us armys tend to "nullify" the fact that they are grown and are no longer boys. They have worked really hard to grow and evolve from where they started (as boys). I am sorry, i just personally feel like its disrespectful to call them boys still. I mean can you stand infront of Jin who is 30 yrs, Suga 29 or RM and Hobi 28 and refer to them as boys. I just can't wait for them to enjoy things that adults enjoy, eg. RM wants to be a dad.

I am a proud ARMY!!. They consist of three rappers and four vocals as a team. BTS also do more songs with English lyrics, like "butter" and "dynamite". But its necessary to know their story, most especially min yoong gi "suga of BTS" AKA "AgustD" his story caught my attention. They deserve everything good happening to them.

There's that one picture of BTS where they were sitting in a living room and all of them were sitting one couch glued to each other, like they can't go a day without feeling each other's presence one it's so cute. They've lived together for like a decade and now have their own homes, they've went through a lot together as well (from the underdogs to the biggest), so it makes sense.
Also there was a time where one of the members had to be absent due to surgery for his crushed shoulder (accident from 10 years ago, that he didn't fix and hurted him for years and years), and they were going around everywhere in interviews, award shows, lives with a picture of him cuz they wanted him to feel included, they'd call him with their personal phones to deliver speeches from home when they win awards, can't go a day without mentioning him.
they were so cute doing that. I almost teared up seeing pics of them in His video. UwU Suga baby missing his bro's so bad.
As blink I'm proud to see that even when we barely know them, we still love Blackpink so much

Came from tktk bc i that little video made me feel like I HAD to see your reaction to BTS! They really are great, like... beyond limits. They are literally brothers from different families. The oldest member once said "when I'm not with (the guys) I feel like I don't have my phone or my wallet"... this is how close they are. They've known each other for 13 years and went through A LOT of hardships together. Their lyrics always are meaningful and their music is really diverse in genres. I'm sure you'll have fun in this journey. Once you start, you just can't stop hahahaha

I've listened to K-pop since 2013. Blackpink and TWICE were the first girl group I listened to all those years ago. Good choice on watching "ShutDown". That song's scenery or sets is a combination of all their previous videos, so if you like that one. You'll surely be entertained by the previous music videos. Also, super happy to see more people becoming interested in listening to K-pop :)

Then I watched a RUclips video and saw j-hope jumping onto the lollapalooza stage last year and performing „more“, heared ARMY sing along… it had a powerful impact on me 😁💜 It had to be jack in the box, I think. Hobi gave me so much with this album. I‘m OT7 now, but he’s got a special place together with Yoongi in my heart. Sope heart 😂.

I've been an Army for 7 years and let me tell you they are SO special to me. They actually saved my life with their messages and content when I was going through a really hard time. They are really inspirational and they just have brought so much comfort and happiness to my life. 💜BTS is actually my favorite artist. Idk I just feel they are so unique and special. When I listen to their songs, read their lyrics and watch their performances I can really feel their passion emotions and sincerity and not a lot o artists that can do that. I guess that's why they have impacted millions of people. I can't wait to watch your BTS journey! At 11:55, that is really his voice. :) Jungkook is thew main vocalist and he is stunningly talented. He sang that part on james cordans carpool karaoke while sitting in backseat.
Even though true there is still auto-tune you can hear and I love BTS, if you know mixing you would recognize it but in his voice is so unique you would not be able to differentiate when he is using it and not. But for this song you can tell they used auto-tune this time for as a stylistic choice 🫡😌💜

BTS is a 7 member group who is now in their 10th year with a 350+ track discography largely written and produced by the members themselves conjoined by their inhouse producers. The leader 'RM' has 210+ credits making him the youngest most credited artist in Korea and the rest of the members are not far behind. BTS is known for being extremely profound at articulating what they introspect and composing it into the sound they with their artistic knowledge believe will deliver the emotion of their lyricsm. They began with their roots in hiphop but have experimented their way into currently having above 10+ genres in their discography with the main being hiphop, pop, r&b and electronic, but majority of the time its a fusion of these genres, or their subgenres. Like latin pop, old school hiphop with boom bap, rap rock, dance pop, ballads, emo hiphop, jazz etc. Since they articulate so well, their music is very human oriented adressing extreme mental health issues (all they way from comforting, motivating, to eery delivery with raw mvs that youtube asks for viewers discretion), sociopolitical commentary etc. Their discography shows the growth from school boys to the tribulations of youth, to addressing temptation, to reaching maturity, to loving onself, to finding the core essence of the mind (i work in the field of psychology and i have yet to find an artist that is as profound as bts in accurately potraying psychological themes) to fighting the pandemic to now doing solo albums as each of the bts members complete their mandatory military. They will come back as a group in 2025!

BTS is nothing like anything I’ve listened before, their variety of genres, their powerful and meaningful lyrics, their outstanding performances… I mean, it’s impossible to compare. They are at the top of the top and they are still the most humble and down to earth artists ever. Even with all the success they still keep getting better and pushing themselves to try new things as artists. They also produce and write the lyrics to their songs, they are not performers only

I've been a fan of BTS for almost 10 years, there's no one like them for me, my forever artists. You have to check the introduction to BTS and you will understand why a lot of people love them and their lyrics are very meaningful.

So happy to see more people enjoying BTS' music! They put so much work into their songwriting, producing and performance that it just makes me really happy to see people appreciating all their blood, sweat & tears. I've been with them for almost nine years now (I'm about to be 31 in June), and I've never found another group that even comes close to them once you get into their lyrics and who they are as people. It's incredible. I don't even honestly enjoy K-pop otherwise? No shade to other groups of course, they all work really hard. I just don't tend to enjoy it which is why I was so shocked that I fell so hard for BTS. I'm a metalhead otherwise! Grew up on Godsmack/Metallica/Marilyn Manson/Distrubed/Etc... mostly there's always a debate between Blinks and ARMYs on who is great.. but i feel both groups have thier own ways and style that can't be compared..
as per quality wise both are bangers..
but as per quantity and quality wise BTS wins and i believe blinks also will agree on this one as BTS been active since for 10 years now as a group, but BP just recently had thier comeback after 2 years(sorry if I'm wrong)

Also as a ARMY myself (ARMY is BTS'fandom name cause BTS stands for bulletproof boy scouts so ARMY lol).. so as i was saying as an ARMY myself i would recommend you first knowing the diverse genres they cover and then as per your liking proceed further and then we can guide you on this rabbit hole journey!! BTS is special and is not the typical k-pop group as most will say. they rose from the bottom, to producing music in a garage, living together in a small dorm together and sleeping in one bedroom, not getting much opportunities to show thier talent, being mocked to becoming the Biggest Boy Band On The Planet ✨ they worked hard hard!!

BTS are so much more than what people expect. :)
Beyond the singing and dancing, they are true artists who write and produce songs that have changed lives, and they have always taken creative control of their works.
Seriously, they have covered heavy topics that other SK artists wouldn’t go near as they were taboo (mental health, injustice, etc), and thanks to them, more SK artists now feel emboldened to sing about similar things.

Most K pop videos have English Subtitles if you turn on the closed captions, and and many groups including BTS are famous for their meaningful lyrics that once you read them, even if you are listening to that song in the car later, you still remember what the song is about and think about the meaning even if you don’t understand all of the individual words. You picked a good song to get to know BTS with. A lot of people start with their English songs which are more fluffy and we’re not written by the band members themselves, like most of their Korean songs are.

If you listen to mainly Afro beats BTS actually have a song that meshes Afro beats and traditional Korean instruments and features the gwara gwara. It’s called idol and there are 2 versions one has Nicki Minaj as a feature
Also they can sing, yes you will hear songs that have auto tune but they use it in an artistic sense. They definitely don’t need help fixing their voice. Jungkook who you were talking about during the bridge, Dude can siiiing, he’s the main vocalist.

Watching reactors fall in love with bts is one of my favorite things! They are so amazing and talented. I’m sure so many ARMY will fill you in but you definitely want to put on subtitles. All bts MVs have them. It’s pretty common to use a mix of English and Korean in their songs so subtitles will help you understand. And a lot of their stuff is pretty deep. You can also find a lot of content on RUclips that will tell you about BTSs story and about the different members.
And those vocals that you commented on were for sure him. They do occasionally use auto tune, but mostly they use it as an audio effect, Like a distortion peddle to a guitar.

If you want to do the deep dive into BTS there is an introduction video by Taylor. It’s a little long, but BTS fans will tune in by the hundreds to watch people react to it. Mostly because after seeing it most people finally get what BTS is about. BTS Does about half a dozen genres of music. You might like Black Swan or Fire, or Mic Drop better. If you like Black Pink, another boy group you might like is Stray Kids. They have a similar energy. Try God’s Menu or Maniac. 😌

First, I fell for their music and artistry. I fell in love with Jungkook's voice. Their songs are BOPS. And they are super talented in songwriting and producing department. Namjoon's pen is INSANE! The rap line is the best in the industry. Their singers are so versatile, diverse, and unique.

So fun to watch! You can tell you are genuinely surprised! I love that! Many times you can tell somebody to do reaction video about Kpop just for the views. I'm Finnish ARMY myself and before I listen mostly rap and 50-60's music. Then I stumble upon BTS. They got me thinking about my life, they make me better person. First it was just music, I loved choreographies etc. Then I watch few documentaries about them and that was it. How good exemple they are! How deep they love music and each other! But I must say I really love kpop all together. I listen many other groups too and I know stories about them too now. There is many, so so many good groups and magnificent music! I must still say, BTS is one of a kind and their story is something you can't fake. There is a reason they are who they are nowadays.
(Before somebody attacks: I know before them there was groups. Good and famous ones too! And I love how BTS always brings that up too.)
