If you are wondering what a "sea doctor" is, I supect that it is a "C-Dr" which in turn is a "CDR" which would be "Commander". Similarly, an "adam" is an "ADM" or Admiral.
And possibly "lif tin" is LFTN or a British leftenant. And "cap t" is obviously "capt" or Captain.
    Hope this helps. :)

When watching these videos, I keep the 24 inch diameter globe I have handy to review the ,.locations being referred to in the videos. That slowly improves my understanding and recognition of the complex geography of the south Pacific area, and improves my understanding of what is being discussed.
I find that a regular atlas of maps doesn't cut it for this purpose. A globe is the way to go.

I Googled places often enough when I didn't recognize them or have a good idea where they were. Also gives additional history of what happened before and since.
But I also found the globe useful for getting a "global" perspective.
What doesn't work well is just skipping over the place names with little understanding of the geography of the conflict and campaigns.
      Thanks for your comment.

I am guessing that the procurement of the Royal Hawaiian hotel for the use of submarine crews was probably a considerable morale booster and recognition of the efforts and sacrifices of submarine crews. Nice touch by the US Navy.
I wonder if that was reflected at all in the fact that Nimitz had been a submariner early in his naval career?

I notice that rarely do I hear any thoughts about Pearl Harbor and launching the Pacific War was not all that good an idea. Did this not cross their minds or do they think that having such thoughts is not admirable to admit?

Because names were given and used to get the ship a recognition, to boost it in reputation, to raise the morale on your side and curb it down on the opponent's side.
Undersea bosts on the contrary, are supposed to be secret, unkown, hard to determine are they in port or on a patrol.
Not the sole reason, but an important one.

A tilt to one side on any vessel is a list, a boat is said to be listing with a lean to port or starboard, but not fore and aft, which are described separately as down by the stem, or down by the bow. Your vessel can experience both, listing sharply to port and down by the stern...

The narrator doesn't speak American English, most likely he's his native speech is British English on one of their colonies. We would sound off to their ears. But it's still worth listening to. Fairly good historical perspective from first person journals, much better than tired incomplete 'history ' books in public schools.

The brothas are an emotional group, I admire it, it keep shit live, but shows that corporate American can’t fool em. Drakes light skinnded, and his religious background already making cat side eye.
But you can really tell that he sucked out so much of the energy of this movement.

PT boat strategy is the principle doctrine for the current Iranian Navy using speed boats but with guidance tech where it is, requires smaller craft to achieve the same effect as the Ukrainian reports you referenced. This shows the old adage that the same strategy can't be used twice in the same way.
