I have several of them, they are awesome for Mink. I had them back in the 70s for Fox but like you said they are rough on Fox and Racoons. Great water trap. I really like the idea of the bigger pans. Might have to do some modifications this summer. Thanks for sharing.
I'm new to water trapping so I've got a question for you. I've got duke 1.5s for muskrat and mink but the pans on them are tiny in my opinion and would like a larger pan, do you think the V#2 pan would fit and work on a Duke?
For over 20 years I caught everything the Adirondacks had to offer with nothing bigger than a Victor #2 double coil. That included Bobcat, Fisher, Racoon, and some large Coyotes. No modifications and only dyed and waxed once when new. I used an 8" chain and a 16" x 3/8" stake with a small twisted arrowhead and no swivels. I probably lost some critters to toe catches but I never lost a trap!!
Ever catch a porcupine in a trap? I bought a mb750 to catch a coyote once . Never caught it but I did catch a skunk, cat, porcelain that was the end of my trapping days. I didn’t no anything about trapping and still don’t. Trap has been hanging in the shop ever sense.
Thank you, always learning something new from other helpful trappers. I must have read it wrong. I bought some mb650 thinking the duke 650's were to big. I'm a new trapper and these things intimate me. There to be handle from underneath, heard that you'll need to make modifications to them. Thanks again for your knowledge....... Good luck trapping!
Best mink trap out there. #2 Victor sj with a big pan. Well done Todd.

They should fit. There are some aftermarket mink pans for 1.5s too.
@@toddstrohecker I went to the site you linked but unfortunately they don't ship to Canada :( which sucks because I really like the look of those pans
So do you think this trap would be good to add in a line for bobcat and coyote or wouldn't recommend? Thanks
No, I would not recommend for those large predators

Sir isn't it the law that the spread can't be any wider than 5 1/2. So the out is to wide for pa law.....
It is 6 1/2”
