This song isn't being talked about enough. The whole album is great, and I feel like this song is getting lost in the mix. But I think in a few weeks after the newness wears off and people listen through several times this song is going to be appreciated.
I love Alliigator Tears. It sounds draggy and almost distorted and that is interesting to the ear. It's like she's tired in the sun, drinking water while fanning herself.

Actually one of the best songs on this whole album. The production quality is insane. Loving the slight indie/90’s soft rock influences…a little Eric Clapton vibes with splashes of Paul McCartney, lots of cowgirl acoustics. I love it!

I know that sounds crazy but if you pay attention to the last 5 tracks of Cowboy Carter the tracks starts to pick up tempo that sound like the tracks on Act 1. Go back and look at the visual for the song I’m that girl, if you look closely when she walks through the doors at the beginning she has 2 futuristic looks but it cuts to a l messy hair with a denim jacket and a polkadot leotard that looks very country. And if you listen to the last 15 seconds of Amen in Cowboy Carter and put I’m that girl right behind it, it’s blends so well. That’s why she hasn’t released the visual it’s part of a visual movie. But if that does not convince you listen to the last 10 seconds of both Amen and I’m that girl both outtro are the same. Oh Beyoncé you genius
I saw an interview with one of her writers stating that this album was actually first. But, due to Covid, they decided to go with putting Renaissance first to kind of wake up and energize people after coming out of lockdown. Yeah, the albums flow together really well.
