I lost the love of my life March 6 2023.I listen to this song and I could relate to everything she was saying, I fought for him the hardest he was addicted to drugs I stood right beside him ,through his ups and downs,He got help but it wasn’t enough ,I say that because he wasn’t ready ,in order for change that person has to be ready but in my heart I know he wanted to stop ,he was just scared to feel life again and the drugs kept him from thinking about his problems rest in heaven baby love you so much,We will meet again ,But first I thank God for helping me with this pain .
In the last ten years, I can see that Heaven couldn't wait for my Dad, four years later, my husband, six months after that, the matriarch of the family, then four years after that, my baby sister, three years after her, my second eldest sister died last May and my mom passed away last June. It's been rough, gut wrenching and I'm still lost. I am doing my best to handle it all.
Lost my son August 15 and I'm still in denial. He was 9yrs old and my only son. My husband and I are devastated. I used "I Was Here" in a tribute video at his service. My son was our hero! Been listening to this on repeat since I found this song. My grandmas been gone for a year and a half a I couldn’t grieve as much cause I felt like I need to be the strong person in my family and be there for them so they wouldn’t loose themselves. Now grieving over her and it’s hard without her❤️🩹

I just heard this song for the first time at my niece funeral yesterday. Now I keep playing it over and over again "I wish heaven would've waited for her"! She was only 19 years old and 8 months pregnant. Now her son in the IC UNITED FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE. I PRAY THAT SHE & GOD WILL LET HIM STAY HERE & NOT CALL HIM HOME, SO WE CAN STILL HAVE JUST A PIECE OF HER HERE... I wasn't going to say anything on here at first but I can't stop thinking about her or her baby and I read some of the comments and I felt the need to share our story. To my best friend Tanya that passed away from cancer.. and 2 years later we lost her son to an OD because he was so full of grief. Praying her daughters make it through this hell on earth. So so sad.
My mom died a few years ago. Everytime I hear this song it helps me get through it. It makes me feel like she's okay and it helps me try to understand that she is safe. It helps me not question God. It helps me try to remember the good, silly, happy moments we did have. Thank you for this
