This is one of my all-time-favorite movies. There were some of the funniest lines ever in this film. David Niven and Maggie Smith were hysterical. Dame Maggie was absolutely stunning in that white gown.
I LOVE James Coco in this. "I'm not a frenchie... I'm a Belgie!" And of course all the "Cow on wall" material between Sellars and Capote is priceless. Best Neil Simon work ever!!!
Sellers:"What meaning of this?" Copote "IS THE,. . . IS THE, . . . WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS? USE YOUR ARTICLES AND PREPOSITIONS THAT DRIVES ME CRAZY'
This film is one of those overlooked masterpieces! When I was 17, this was showing at a theater in SF area for about 3 weeks. I gave the cinema owner $25 and said "Let me in to see this movie as much as I want." He did, and I saw it about 15 times o the big screen. 3 cheers for Neil Simon and casting that is perfecto!
Has been one of my favorite movies since I was kid. It still holds up so well. I love, "It stupid. It most stupid theory I ever heard." So many good lines
This is still one of my all-time-favorite films. I was 12 when it came out and it certainly made a big impression. I think that I became a die hard Maggie Smith fan after see this film.
I'm not sure how you were able to pick some lines from that movie.....it was jam packed with great lines! Well done, though! One of THE funniest movies ever made. Thank you for sharing!
Years ago Peter Falk walked by me at a football game, and stood a few feet from me to talk to a fellow seated in front of me. I didn't realize who he was until many years later. Great movie.
one of my favorite movies of all time. Peter Sellers and Peter Falk steal the show here. and i'm always finding out interesting factoids about it. for example, until last week i had no idea that the actress who played Miss Marbles was also the Bride of Frankenstein
MARVELOUS montage!! I love it!! Oh, and I so love when Sam Diamond hollers at everyone: Shut up, all of ya's. Nobody move! I have to go to the can again. I don't wanna miss nothin.'
I was about 10 when I first saw this in the theaters, they had second run theaters back then so I saw it 3 times and recorded the whole movie on cassette when it aired on TV, in like 1978 or 1979. According to wiki, it was the 15th highest grossing film of 1976, making over $32,000,000!
@3balloonedcourier I love at the end of the movie when Falk asks, "You know how to whistle don't you?...Nevermind." hahaha I'm happy this movie is on Netflix now so I can watch it anytime. Gonna miss Peter Falk, he was the best.
I also like it when Wang said "Let us go back to drawing room, while my song clean up dead body" "How come I gotta do all the dirty work pa?" "Because your mother not here to do it for you" Ha ha ha! Also "That not steam, someone put deadly snake in room, wake me when come near bed".
One of my FAVORITE dialogues was when the butler, Bensonmum is showing Wang and his son to their room. They hear a large-sounding dog barking outside: Wang: "W-Wait a minute please, what that?" Bensonmum: "Oh that? That's nothing, sir. Just the cat." (Clearly a dog, it barks again) Wang (surprised): "That cat? You feed cat...dog food?" Bensonmum: "I'm afraid he's a very angry cat, sir. Mr. Twain had him fixed and he didn't want to be." (Dog growls from outside) Hilarious! :)
Awesome movie! There should have been more Wang quotes Butler: May I get your bags, sir? Wang: Oh, no, no. Son will get bags. That is why I adopted him. LOL
"Don't nobody move! I gotta go to the can, and I dn't wanna miss anything." "Moose! I'm a moose! Use your goddam pronouns!" My personal favorites. So many good ones!
Actually one of the most missed noteables of this film is that the original Bride of Frankenstein is in the part of Ms. Marples (who also was the original nanny in Mary Poppins!) .......Awesome!!! .........."Just as I thought; another test that could have cost us our lives, saved only by the fact that I am enormously well bred!!"
I love that movie. I also lke the lines about what would anyone want with a dead naked body (or something like that) So Dick whispers something to Dora and she says that's tacky (or something like that.)
Sam Diamond is the best character ever! "Last time that I trusted a dame was in Paris in 1940. She said she was going out to get a bottle of wine. Two hours later the Germans marched nto France." "To me you look like number 2." "Sam, why do you keep all those naked muscle man magazines in your office?" - "Suspects!" Ah, I could watch this film everyday.

Murder by death is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! I will never get tired of it! What a gem of a film! *****

Copote "IS THE,. . . IS THE, . . . WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS? USE YOUR ARTICLES AND PREPOSITIONS THAT DRIVES ME CRAZY'
Greatest cast; greatest film ever made. 😶👍
"Oh no, it was murder alright. Mrs. Twain HATED herself....we keep this room...locked"

I remember watching this as a child and being spooked by the ending. I just loved this silly film, great acting and one amazing house :)
This is a classic. So many great actors. The blind butler and the deaf cook were so funny.
This movie is awesome. The Cast is perfect and the dialog in unbelievable.

Watching Cromwell in this movie, and then in his later movies like LA Confidential and The Longest Yard (Sandler version) is just... fascinating.
Peter Sellers & Peter Falk made this Movie Funny as Hell, Classic, LMAO!
That's the line I quote the most from this movie. God I love it!!!
This film reminds me of the game Clue. Always has and always will. Got to love Truman Capote as Lionel Twain. My favourite role he played.
My school did a play that was pretty much based off of this movie during my senior year....best play ever.
Years ago Peter Falk walked by me at a football game, and stood a few feet from me to talk to a fellow seated in front of me. I didn't realize who he was until many years later. Great movie.

My favorite is when Wang walks into the empty dining room:
"Room is filled with...empty people!"
He's a very angry cat. The master had him fixed, and he did't want to be. Lmao.. This movie is the best. thanks for uploading )
This movie rules.
I've got to have it on DVD. Absolutely hilarious. They just don't make comedies as smart as this anymore.
Classic!

love peter falk in this, his lines make me laugh the most
"WAIT! Nobody move!"
"What is it....?"
"I gotta go to the can again, I don't wanna miss anything!"
You left out a lot of Detective Wang's lines and when the nurse swears. When she swears, I bust out laughing so darn hard.
Rest in peace, angel! Eileen Brennan passed today.
my favorite lines are with sam diamond........"she changed her name"........"just like a dame." HAHA
@3balloonedcourier I love at the end of the movie when Falk asks, "You know how to whistle don't you?...Nevermind." hahaha I'm happy this movie is on Netflix now so I can watch it anytime. Gonna miss Peter Falk, he was the best.

Great film. Peter Falk is awesome in this movie.
David Niven at 2:20. Love that line.

My favorite scene was when the nurse yelled. "SHOOOOESS!"
"Went back to theory seldom used these days:Butler did it."-Ispector Sidney Wang
"You should not speak with an accent when you KNOW I'm so hungry!"
"What would a person want with a naked body?"

Miss Withers: Murder-poo?
Miss Marbles: YES, DEAR, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A LOVELY MURDER-POO!!!!

Bye Bye Eileen. You always had the best costumes.
YOU BROUGHT BUNS AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME! ahahahhahahaha
Willie Wang: " I don't get it, Pop- was there a murder or wasn't there?"
