I actually miss how bad Nott was at checking for traps. Just the thought of this boozed out goblin getting progressively more injured as she tries to make her way through a dungeon was hilarious to me. Inspired a (shortlived) PC of mine
Maybe it would be less short-lived if you made CON its top stat... A CON based trap finder. He just finds traps by walking into them first and triggering them so that others don't have to. How would one make that build, I wonder. Go full "what the heck is that character?!" and just make a CON-based rogue that has a level of cleric or something so it can heal itself?
@@SephirothRyu if I ever decide to troll my table again I might try it with a war wizard. Arcane Deflection can get you +4 to a saving throw and the absorb elements spell can probably mitigate a bunch of damage.
Your editing choices make the combat feel more fast-paced than the original. Everything is happening at once, multiple actions occurring against multiple targets. Yet the narrative of the fight persists. This is really good work!
I have too agree. This was very well put together. How much and where would i fling money to possibly get more fights done? Especially the yasha brawl pit fight?
I think I'll always miss the old, low-power Mighty Nein. Before Molly, the Pirates, and the War, it was a bunch of ragtag mercenaries finding a place in a strange world. It just felt so grounded.
I mean that's kinda the arc of a campaign. You start off weak, get better, become better than the average guy, so on and so forth until you're basically gods. (And then jump off a cliff and turn into a gold fish)
They have all really matured and grown as characters though. I like how they've changed over time and have become more powerful. I hope they continue this campaign at some point because they're only at lvl 11 or 12. They still have a long way to go.
Things that people should take note of: - the character designs - subtle sound effects of things (Matt’s overlapping voice!) - action - humor in animation
This animation is masterful. The action flowed really well, there was a great sense of movement and space, every character decision felt like it had weight. The style and designs for the characters have a great stylization, like a graphic novel. Nice use of color to make the spells and effects pop. Overall, this is fantastic!
I REALLY like how you blend all the audio together to make a full combat scene in real time! Bravo! Also, brilliant use of the recap at the start to set up the situation!
Watching Jesters little changes in expression while she reveals the cinnamon secret was so good I had to go back a few times. Love this whole bit, beautifully made
This is beautiful! Your art style is wonderful, your editing makes the pacing of the whole thing pick up immensely, and I cannot believe the amount of time it must have taken to draw 6 minutes’ worth of frames! Many, many kudos to you!!
Love it!! It takes the well organized and rule bound fight sequences to a real battle and really brought it to life. It felt like a battle and the editing really pushed the pacing so well. This much effort really made something amazing!! How you had enough determination to make a 6 minute video with so many separate drawings is beyond me. Well done!!
Really really good job using Matt's sound effects as the sound effects in the animation ^.^ I hadn't really noticed until the point where Nott was firing at the pots and then reloaded, and if I didn't notice, that means it was done pretty seamlessly, so kudos!
I hope this gains lots of attention! As the viewer you can tell how hard you worked on this. There’s a great deal more planning and research that goes into this process than people think! Keep up the great work :))
I watched a lot of S2 on RUclips backlogs. I'm caught up now, have been for a while, but I think I slept through this whole fight. It was kinda cool to bump into this way.
I frickin’ love everything about this video! Your composition is awesome, the way all the movements flow is super dramatic and fluid. Even down to the colors!
You earned yourself a subscriber with this masterpiece! I love your animation style. Very fluid and pleasing to look at. Also an encounter I haven't seen animated yet. I hope to see more!
This animatic is absolutely stunning! Your art skills are amazing! I'd love to see more like this. I looked at your website, I can tell that you've worked very hard to develop your talent and it definitely shows though all your work :)
Yeah, this is really good work. It’s so faithful to the source material it’s like it should be included after each one. Just found you. Keep up the good work!
The quandary of leveling. The joy of the rise and power and loss of the early days. Remembering when and going back to the days of " I'm sticking with this accent for the next two years" "Hi i'm jester," & " I'm here too", that was yesterday right . . . Right

Lol "was"? Spoilers for the happy fun ball part 2 XP
surprise surprise a character that often gets hit my traps dont survive for too long XD

It feels like how DnD combat would really be if it was happening irl.
@@adamm5166 really a shame you can't really get that same feel in actual games. not without like, real-life time travel or somethin :P
I have too agree. This was very well put together. How much and where would i fling money to possibly get more fights done?
Especially the yasha brawl pit fight?
I'm setting up a patreon and also offer my other illustrations on my website!
That brawl is a great idea! Such a powerfully emotional moment!
Thank you! I had to cut a couple little moments for a good rhythm while keeping the spirit of the fight and I'm glad that translated!
I really love this, because ive never seen anyone organise the chaos of dnd combat into something this coherant and succunct
Cool icon.

@@TaggedByTim Totally, I guess I'm biased to low-level play. Imagining the Nein with god-like power is more than a little scary.
I loved their encounters with the bandits!!!

I appreciate the holy hand grenade making an appearance :P
@Daniel Mayfield wow
But what good is it without the Book of Armaments?
Love this so much: love how you used Matt’s recap to re-introduce the situation
Things that people should take note of:
- the character designs
- subtle sound effects of things (Matt’s overlapping voice!)

The audio edits really help highlight how DND combat is usually under a minute in game time but the actions usually take an hour. Lovely
With out a doubt this was one of the best Critical role animations ive ever seen, you did a great job. Keep it up.
I have the honor of granting you your 69th like. Hold it with pride gamer
The moment of Molly healing Jester with the potion really made me miss him as a character... T-T
LONG MAY HE REIGN! :')
Long may he reign.
Molly and Caduceus are the dads of the group. But Molly is the awesome party dad lol
I miss him so much, too!!!!!
THIS SUCKS BECAUSE ITS THE TOP COMMENT ON AN ANIMATION FOR A VIDEO THAT HAPPENS VERY EARLY IN THE SERIES
Ah and here i thought i was over Molly, and then i see him and now im sad :c great animation tho love it.
We'll never be over Molly. Long may he reign.

Absolutely amazing!! One of the best interpretations of D&D combat I have ever seen!!!
Well done on this animation. I loved the flow of it, and the subtle mix of D&Dness with actual combat. Very cool, and nice to see Molly again.
I love how you edit combat so It seems like thing are happening at the same time and then when its in the background it's just *chefs kiss*
This is amazing! It’s awesome how it makes the combat feel more chaotic and fast-paced, way more *real.* Would loove more like this!!
this is perfect, i love how you drew all the characters
This is such a good, clean animatic!!
Beauiful, beautiful flow of animation, the lip-sync was also really good. You have a great control of your frames.
