- / @nickfoleyuk I've privileged to have in the studio the TINY Yamaha Reface CS synth. And what a beast it is? Or is it?
Find out right now in this video.
With thanks as usual to @FairDealMusicVideos for the load on equipment used in this video!
Nice little intro walk-thru. I have all but the YC, almost since they came out (my L-100 takes care of my YC needs) and they all sound stunning. I don't know what it is about the Reface line and their effects chips, but they sound killer. All Reface machines have top shelf effects that really work great with their respective units. Would have loved to see a stereo in/out box with dedicated controls for all 4 unit's effects in a single box, call it the Reface FX.
I have acquired, second hand, all the four Refaces. I went the slow way, trying to find good offers for each, so my most expensive one has been 240€ (a CP boxed, with extra transport case) and the cheapest, a CS bought faulty, was just 120€. I was able to get the CS working by updating its firmware, so now I have four working Refaces to play with 🤩. I love them all, each one has its use and they are great tools to learn
Can one loop without the annoying click metronome sound?
Thanks bro.
Cheers
I thought you would have reviewed the Reface YC
Great video. It's interesting to hear organ style licks on a synth. I got a reface yc a month ago and it would be interesting to hear on amped up next to one of your proper hammonds.
Sadly I only have them for a few days and then they have to go back
Time for the Soundmondo app?
You've probably discovered this but for best use of the FEG or AEG you'll need some A, D, and R to go along with the S.
FEG - Filter envelope. AEG - Amp envelope.
The CS before the YC?

think they mean reface yc, the yc61 is in a different price/product line lol
@@nickfoleyuk yeah wrong yc
I see a Reface CS, I don't wait to watch the video - I click Like. "Reface" is an alternative spelling of "mojo". If disaster was to strike I'd grab my Roland AE-30, my Reface CS, my MPC, and a sax and a bass. The CS is probably the least sophisticated synth I own but Yamaha did a great job on that minimalist interface - so quick to dial in great sounds.
