Nice! I saw your blofeld demo and it's part of why I bought it. I really want to get this but have yet to find a video that had the kind of sounds I like to make. (thick meaty basses/leads, and keys, more vintage than modern) There's usually too much quacky resonance. would you do a less supersaw-ish demo? Being based on the AN1x I'm expecting good quality, but I'm worried there won't be enough of a variety of basses and leads with those limited oscillators (octave saw with a premade detune setting, octave square with none.) I'm hoping tuning the ring mod right will yield some extra bass/lead surprises to help compensate, but I haven't seen much online that made it really shine in those depts.
Hi, thanks! I still have to explore the sound capablities of the CS some more. It's so tempting to switch it on and use the supersaw :) I never played the AN1x, but the sound reminds me of the Roland JP-8080. I'll probably do more videos with the CS, focussing on different sounds.

Also, whats the melody at 0:57 Thanks in advance :)
Hi, the Reface CS certainly is a good choice. The mini keys are nice to play on and the quality of the built-in speakers is surprisingly good (and very loud). The Nord Lead A1 of course is on another level, but this one has its own sound and excels with the supersaws. That melody is just playing around, not a track yet :)
Whentherushcomes Thank you so much for your answer! I liked it, but I've heard that MicroKorg keys get damaged very quickly, do you know anything about it?
+Adolfo Vazquez I've tried the MicroKorg and the keys are not as good as the Reface. But on the other hand the MicroKorg gives you a lot more sound design options and things like arpeggiators. How do you get the xfiles sound? It would seem you are running it as a patch in the vid as the keys do not match up but I can't find ot within your soundmondo profile as uploaded
Hi, I haven't saved the x-files patch. But if you choose FM as the osc type, portamento & attack at around 50%, texture & mod at 0%, and a bit of lfo pitch then you're almost there.
What's amazing is that the "multi-detuned-chorused-saw" oscillator on the reface cs isn't really even marketed heavily with this synth. I would have to agree that in many ways, this is a lot like a "mini jp8000" (certainly more than that God awful Gaia SH-1 from Roland). I think that Yamaha would have done better to call this the "Reface AN" with respect to the AN1x, AN200, and PLG150-AN line from Yamaha than a "CS" synth. The closest that any of the CS synths come to this would be a CS6x with a PLG150-AN installed! For the money, though, if you want a supersaw/hypersaw/multisaw/doublesaw (Novation)/Hive/"Singing Bees" oscillator that actually works in a new synth sold in stores today (especially for Trance), then the Reface CS is the way to go...even more than the JD-Xi (which has some passable supersaw timbres possible), then I'd say the Reface CS is your synth!
