  • What is the #1 mistake in Country 2Step dancing? Join Anthony and Rose Lewis of Country Dance X for a simple secret that could change your Texas Two Step forever.
If you've tried learning some of the 2 Step intermediate moves here on the channel, but there seems to be something "off", or the lead or follow for your 2 Step dance spins aren't working right ... it's possible that you (or your dance partner) may not have a full understanding of what we refer to as "alignments" for Two Stepping.

Rose, it’s always so helpful when you add onto the explanation. As a fellow follower, you help me so much! And Anthony, all I can say is: thank goodness I don’t have to lead!

What y'all all "The Weave", I learned as the "Traveling Swing" back in the early 80's. Did you mention just why it was advantageous to have one of you ahead of the other in the direction of dance, when you're apart? Because I'm not seeing the advantage. We usually roughly equal in the line of dance

When I learned that it was called a whip. Alignment is SO important, seems like almost nobody wants to get stepped on or tripped over, who new? Great tips.

We've heard it called a whip too. Depends on where you are :-)
Thanks for being here and contributing!

Good stuff, very important. I would like to see you guys do a video on dancing on time and on rhythm.

That would be a great video to create! We've talked about it before ... but making it truly helpful in video format is the trickiest thing. Great suggestion... we may do that :-)

Love the tips. Question about your tennis shoes...do they have "dance suede" on the soles?

Hi there. No suede on these 😁 We wouldn’t normally “dance” in regular sneakers, but this was just what we were wearing at the moment we decided to film haha

Good info! Does the person on the outside always have to be in further down the line of dance or could the the person on the inside be ahead? Also I don't see a link at 6:00 to the last video using the alignment exchange. Thanks!!!

Hi there. Always isn't a word we would ever use about dancing. We would use typically or usually... but never always.

Is there anywhere that I can put the names with some of the 2step, Cw2,Country Waltz patterns? We have 1 superstar teacher named Richard Kear in the 10,000,000 SF Bay Area. Kear doesn't care about names so hard to catalogue for future reference. Tnx
