That note was from an instrument. She kept sustaining the mid belt (B4 or something) you can hear it clearly! As that high note ends you hear her voice still singing lower notes, she couldn't jump from G5 to those phrased mid belts like that.
I'm still trying to comprehend what is happening at 2:42 "I'm"? G5 upper chest belt, G5 head voice, G5 mixed voice, or G6 whistle register? Polyphonic? Live or playback? It sounds amazing. If this was a studio arrangement, she probably would've gone back up to match the "I'm" in phrasing and melody around 2:49 on the word "side".
I think the belt/whistle sound you guys are hearing is her resonance or maybe overtones. I can hear that kind of beltfrom Lara Fabian tho. A belt so resonant that it sounds like a whistle, especially if sustained.
2:42 definitely a whistle not a belt. She could barely sustain the make it happen c#5 with vibrato in 1996 what makes u think she would sustain an f#5? Also it just sounds nothing like a belt
@@watchdotcom7786 there's a documentary that explained why that is. basically her voice isnt the "sustain type" and when she sustains, shes most likely end it with a run/riff. maybe the vocal nodules also has something to do with her sustaining issues.
wadah itil For some reason all the audio we have from London is slightly higher than every other date, I doubt she sang it in a higher key so it was an F#5 but the slightly higher recording makes it sound like a flat G5
@@wchannel5257 some lambs are too delusional to accept that maybe 'it' (the sustained high note they're talking about) really is just background noise/resonance
Eddy6159 What can I say? Did she still reach some amazing notes? YES. Was her voice strained? Oh YES (without a doubt)... so I think that is why she was not able to deliver her usual perfect, amazing and flawless performances from the early to mid 90s. Pls do not think I am a hater, I was just being objective. And even so, btw, this performance would beat by 1000% any of her 2010s- current performances by far.
fcm1065 She was EXTREMELY resonant in this performance, this is during Mariah's absolute prime, that being the Daydream World Tour. Where do you think she sounds strained?
She's amazing!!
Her belt support up to G5!
Omggg that G5 is soooo good!!!!!!Nice job!

we are not sure yet, but in my opinion i think she does that G5.

I Just hear C5
I hear a C5
Upper belt. Sustained f#5
G5
who say Mariah can't sustain high note in mix?
Literally Nobody..
Nobody cares. Phrasing high belts is much more difficult
Very weird G5 actually, it sounds like many notes all together!!
2:42 sounds like a B4..
Yep, it's B4, I think the G5 is an overtone because I can hear both
Her voice here sounds like a 6 years girl singing

I hear a f#6 at 2:43 !!
Amazing
Idk what that higher pitch sound is, but it’s not her. You can even hear her belt the usual B4 underneath it.
The audio is pitched up here!
以前真的好強喔❤️
What about 3:12? Sound like F#5 . I hope the sound quality is good
Soni Lika It is

Have you thought about doing a full live vocal range video (1990 - 2015)? I think you'd do an EPIC job!
The90sAreTheBest I already thought that. It's a hard work to do. Lol
But maybe I'll do it.
You would do great!!! Please make a full one including her new Residency in Vegas.
Yeaaa ,pleasee do it for us Tiffany!

She definitely could considering how nasally she was in 96 but it would sound nothing like that
She sustains an E5 in this very video. Pls use your brain
weird, I found B4 and G5 in the same time
O som está mais alto que a voz dela?
Anyone can explain why mariah cant sustain note after E5?
She can. She just doesn't seem to like sustaining very high notes. Proof that she can: ruclips.net/video/eVI0KFBhvCQ/видео.html

Why does this thing sounds pitched up?
WAIT 2:34 that came from Mariah's mouth?!
+Wasian Mob Yass! You can see clearly her backing vocals were singing "even if you're miles away..." at 2:41 while she hits that amazing F#5.

That sounded like a whistle though, if you meant the 2:44 G5
She was all over the place... I didnt know that her singing problems started this early...
That's what happens when you're singing with a nodule infected voice your entire professional career.
