The small grip and black out shutter is a big put off, z8 fixes both of those and probably the z6iii when it comes out. For weddings, but for casual use the ZF looks cool
I don’t really notice the black out on the day. It’s just very apparently in screen records haha. Not everyone is in a position to buy a z8 when the zf does everything you need for a wedding in just a slightly less ergonomic package
Thank you! THIS is the zf review I’ve been looking for.. must have watched a dozen reviews and they all wanna focus on the pancake lenses (I understand the draw to them for certain reasons, but I also wanna see image quality with nicer glass!) I understand the ergos and weight balance will go to shite with a larger lens, but as long as the image quality is there, that’s a trade off I’m willing to accept for the off the charts “cool factor.” Every review with the pancake 40mm f2 seems to show really soft images and I wasn’t feeling confident in the image quality until you showed what it’s capable of with proper glass. Now, Im sold.. well… as soon as they can get their stock back up.. currently sold out in all the “cool” colors - absolutely loving the moss green you have!! Anyways, thanks for a brilliant video! Keep up the good work!
Me too buddy, the "cool" factor and "the old school dials" really swaying me to Zf compare to z6ii or z6iii which I'm considering. did you get it eventually?
Someone needs to release a better grip for the zf. I tried the smallrig grip, and it's still not comfortable. Love the camera, but so uncomfortable to use for a long wedding day.
Love seeing how others shoot weddings! You do an exceptional job presenting and your voice overs are perfect! Question, in the video I see like myself you take a ton of shots (so that you don’t miss any moments) do you use a burst mode on the shutter or just hit it fast as you go?
Nice video. I was amazed that you shooting the couple walking and holding hand at f1.2… One couple will be quite out of focus isn‘t it? I usually shot at f2.4 in thoses cases. Otherwise i‘ve tried the zf anf z8 this week end. i was missing a lot the joystick and the U1/U2/U3 buttons
I really wanna buy this camera and get used to it till the wedding season starts, I currently have the a7riii, i had nikon z6ii but i didnt like that it didnt have dedicated eye af button so i can set a focus point and use eye af separately and be serious, the AF is not that great on z6 and z6ii even in 3d tracking, i just hate when it focuses on an object instead of the eye. Or should i buy the r6ii instead
You could use something like imagen-ai.com/?ref=taylorjackson to cull with AI (I think culling is still in Beta, but paid accounts should have access to it I think) Or you can just optimize your lightroom for speed, or use something like Photo Mechanic
Quick question, I noticed that you were using 1/100 shutter speed on some of the indoor shots during the first look. I feel like I still get blurry photos at that speed when using my Z7II and my z lenses and I have to go up to 1/160 or 1/200. Is the ZF’s IBIS just that much better?
I haven’t noticed any problems even down to 1/50th. If there are led lights in the room it try and keep a lower shutter speed to match the refresh rate of them
Think the ZF (with grip) would still be uncomfortable after an all day shoot with a reasonable sized prime? Of course that would be much better than the huge 50 1.2 but does it still somewhat force a "rock-climber" hand grip that ends up tense vs relaxed? I might still consider the camera for its positives, but know in advance its better for short-casual shoots.
Thx. I have the Canon R6 and zero complaints but my 20 years of film was Nikons (and Pentax 6x7 that beast)..so the ZF pushes my nostalgia buttons hard. @@TaylorJacksonPhoto
hey my friend. i bought the tamron 35-150 z mount. i see you dont use it anymore. was your faulty or other reason. ? also it seems you go wide open 1.2 with z 50mm - does that not make trouble with out of focus areas? but any great video and humor 🎉😂
I talk about the 24-70 choice in the video. Aisle is kind of too tight for 35 on the wide end. Still a very useful lens for other weddings though. Very happy it’s for Nikon

Nice video. How about the autofocus comparing with Z8/Z9?
Those large lenses on the Z f even with the Smallrig grip feels like a human rights violation.
I love that look haha
Hi Taylor. I like green camera.
Hi magic. If only it was a green rx1rii
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto or even better Rx1RIII
I love your "frame speech" like blade runner. lol

Wow that autofocus is fast my gosh, I think I got it go back to Nikon Zf autofocus is crazy, thanks for sharing
Great video. Love your videos. Often times learning something new.
Thanks for watching!
Yay Canada Photo Summit!
Wooooooo. Welcome to Canada!

Great video!! Quick question when you were bouncing the flash on the ceiling, did you just have the flash on manual? Or some type of ttl? Thx

the f 1.2 lens is showing his class, very nice picture

those combo seems beauty in wedding ...
Thanks for the video, great to see it's performance put to the test in a real world situation. Ergonomics aside, it seems like a very capable camera!

I have the 28-75 and 70-180 and it doesn’t feel to bad with the ZF
Nature-frame it kind of magic spell lol. Great video. thank you
Question doing weddings and having soooo many pictures. What tool do you to easily look through them all?

I think the 50 1.8 and similar are totally fine to use. 24-70mm 2.8 is where the line is for me

Start to save money for next year summit 😅 all the way from Germany ……
There have been a few German comments. Maybe we take the show on the road to you
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto 🤩 that would be awesome
What do you use to record what you see in the camera
I may have to come to Canada again one day, haven’t been in 20 years and it’s not really around the corner from Germany hahaha
Haha yah it’s not so close. We have the 3rd biggest Oktoberfest or something here though haha.
silly question but does the low 24 megapixel not affect the photos? I shoot with a 42 and i love the quality
I guess it would if you crop a lot or print larger than 8 or 10 feet regularly.
Great....somyou rcommend the Z8 or Z9....which are over twice the price of the Zf lol
Nah this is fine. Just use the 50 1.8 instead of the 1.2
Who are you dressed like that for this event even if it is a dress rehearsal. Poor form.
Nikon colors lmao... I mean... I worked many years with Nikon as wedding photographer, I really remember the struggle
I find it the opposite. I struggle more with all other brands especially in mixed lighting environments
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto if you like orange people than yeah, for sure. Not my taste.
@slavakhudyakov3807 that’s pretty easy to dial back if you don’t like it
