Sex Pistols Appears, Part 2
In a flashback, Mista is shown as a carefree young thug who discovers that bullets fired at him miss completely. Back on the island of Capri, Mista is hanging onto the truck travelling up the mountain and is confronted by Sale and his Stand, Kraftwerk[m]. Sale’s Stand allows him to affix objects and people in place which enables him to stop a bullet fired by Mista from penetrating his skull. Mista then uses his Sex Pistols to knock Sale off the truck, however, Sale catches up to Mista and hits him with one of his own bullets. Lying wounded atop the moving truck, Mista fires his last bullet at Sale. Sale defends himself, splitting the bullet, but Mista has the Sex Pistols take control of a bullet fragment and they deflect it to push the bullet he had previously stopped further into his skull. Mista then has the truck driver return him to the Marina where he enters the watch-house with the bleeding Sale. Unaware that Misata has returned to the port, Giorno forces the same truck driver back up the mountain to find Mista.

Using Kraft Work's stopping abilities, Mista is stuck to the truck, with his deflected bullets stopped in space around Sale. Sex Pistols reloads the pistol, and Mista fires. Sale stops the first bullet, but Sex Pistols is able to hit him with the second, piercing Sale's throat, and knocking him off the truck

This Backstory is genuinely Bizarre compared to the other members of Passione and that's why I loved this character the moment I saw this.
Theres sad stories (Abbacchio and Narancia) Badass and Tragic (Bucciarrati and Fugo) Heartwarming (Giorno) and then theres Mista
I wouldn't expect an ordinary backstory for someone who got a sentient colony stand without even getting pierced by the arrow.
He's also the only one of two stand users who can use a gun effectively against other stand users.

I like how they start off as guys wearing regular clothes then end up wearing extremely extravagant ones despite the narrator making it clear that Passione members like keeping a "low profile"
It's like one of those memes, "spot the main character".
i gotta say out of all of our gang-stars i like mistas the best, i mean, it's incredibly badass and he saved a woman from a terrible fate as well as killing some scumbags as well as sets up his character quite nicely later

When you use vats in fallout
Compared to the other gangsters' backstories (except maybe Abbacchio because I'm sure many lawmen for one reason or another turn to crime), Mista has a surprisingly normal one, I mean missed shots notwithstanding. Whereas the other gangsters dealt with the threat of witness elimination, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and being framed, Mista was actually a hero in his own story.
The narrator counting is oddly satisfying
I believe that Mista's relaxed, simple approach to life resulted in him getting a very powerful sentient colony stand.

No wonder there are theories where Mista unlocked his stand even before his test...it's possible that Sex Pistols is the reason why no bullets hit him
I have a theory, the bullets weren’t just magically passing Mista by. I think it was Sex Pistols who were kicking away the bullets (before he even realized he has a stand).
That theory could possibly be true because araki stated that if the crusaders went back in time to battle tendency they would see a young Joseph with hermit purple meaning people can have stands before knowing it but it also stated that he only got his stand from the polpo test so either is possible
Honestly, this is plausible considering Giorno developed his stand as a kid, and didn't realize he had one, even when it was subconciously taking effect to save someone's life.

I can honestly relate to Mista's circumstances on Luck because whenever something bad happens to me something good comes along the way but when something good happens to me I get nervous and eventually something so stupid will that it should not happen comes along......It do be like that sometimes.

I believe it's meant to tie into the importance of fate in part 5. Because Mista always let things happen to him he was at peace with his own fate. He joined the gang under far less strenuous circumstances. He isn't perfect and things don't always work in his favor but he takes it all in stride.
His life was just literally a good young italian guy's life

Theory: Mista's old stand was King Crimson, but his incident and his hatred of the number 4 led him to take Six Pistols, leading to Diavolo having to take King Crimson.

Mista was secretly Joseph's 3rd child and inherited his ability to know where people's belongings are in which pocket.
Actually he probably did notice. He was inches from the guy 3 times before finally reaching into the pocket. He most likely did see them and instinctively grabbed them when he had a chance. Every punch and knee he attacks with had a purpose. Punch to the jaw to stun him and take his gun. Swift knee to the head to daze him as he tries to recover. Grab the bullets in his pocket as he is recoiling in pain. Shoot him as he is the closest and most vulnerable target. Finish off the rest.

It would have been a very early form, yes. A stand's ability can work even before the person awakens it, as Araki said "if the stardust crusaders crew could see young Joseph from part 2 they would be able to see an early form of his hermit purple". This is the most popular explanation for why Joseph can use the "you're next line will be" thing too
I like to think so. Partially luck, partially fate, patially his own will manifesting as the Stand potential he would awaken after dose of the Arrow.
