It’s a crazy schedule. One of the hardest in the league probably top three. I’m OK with that because we are rebuilding. Next Draft is supposed to have good receivers and tackles.
yessirrrr , we need to sit Maye this year no matter what his development is looking like in practice and load up on offensive talent around him for next season
@@CJfromMEXICO I think some people forget he is only 21. It’s OK if we sit him the first year. I believe we should. He is going to be so freaking good. Let him sit and learn for the first year. He is so young.
They are acting like lower ranked teams can’t beat higher ranked teams. Upsets happen 5 times a week, patriots will be one of those upsets atleast a few times in those first 9 games
Lmao watch the patriots show out! Our defense was beast last year and the offense is more advanced than it was last year, with Mac jones and Bailey zappe.
None of this means anything in the NFL. The actual strength of the schedule won't be determined until the season is over. Every year there are surprise teams that are better or worse than expected. Add in injuries , weather and many other factors and the fact that there are so many variables for this Patriots team and we might end up with 5 or 6 games that have a different outlook when they actually come around on the calendar. They could go winless or they might make the playoffs. Nobody knows.
I think they've got 4 decent receivers, 1 good rb 1 decent te & if gonzalez can play more than 4 games we probably have a respectable defense, 5-7 wins
They were 4-13 last year. What is there to be positive about? I honestly don't see it. I think it's negative but I also think it's the truth. Do you disagree?
@@DSlav2488 I don’t fully disagree but, I think, having a top 10 Defense (last two years w/ most core Def coming back), potentially good receivers drafted, and a re-tooled offense (coaches too) is something to look forward to. Plus, BB is gone which for better or worse is different. The mystery is something to investigate! It’s not sunshine and rainbows but it’s something new. Tbh, who saw The Texans doing well last year? Not me.
@@DSlav2488 I think there is a big difference between being negative vs being realistic. The patriots are not good and the sheer amount of playoff teams we gotta play along with teams that completely rebranded on the offseason is insane. The patriots SHOULD tank another year. Idk what the 2025 draft class is lookin like rn but if it guarantees us a star Marvin Harrison Jr type Wr or a crazy pass rusher like Myles Garret I’ll happily go 3-14 again so we can get more talent. It’s not fun to watch and I know it hurts our soul, but it’s what we gotta do to acquire better talent. X’s and O’s don’t mean shit if the ppl you have on the field can’t take the knowledge you give them and execute.
These pundits always sound so ridiculous in hindsight. There will be teams you think will be good that suck (it happens every year). The Pats defense was good bordering on great last year and will be again, whereas the offense will be helmed by a capable, game manager QB and a (hopefully) solid run game. We aren’t contenders by any means but the idea we won’t play spoiler and keep games close by leaning on our strengths is silly. Then again, if these guys are right at least we’ll be in a position to draft a true number one reciever or a dominant left tackle, I guess.
They have no offensive line so I question your thoughts that they will have a good running game along with a below average QB who gets to much credit because he’s a good character locker room guy
What good is it having a great defense when you can't score. They were like the first team in 90 years to lose 3 games in which they allowed 10 or fewer points. The defense can be great all they want but it's not going to matter if the offense can't score.
@@ericfein9851 except they do have an offensive line. They have Onwenu, Sow, and Andrews. Sure there may be questions about left guard and certainly left tackle, but that’s why you run to the right (and also why you lean on a running game to begin with). As far as Brisset goes, I think he’s an upgrade from Mac Jones (certainly in terms of turnover rate), and there were a handful of games we could’ve won had our offense produced on any level. To be clear, I’m not saying they’ll win ten games. But going 0-9 simply because the teams they play are perceived to be so much better? That just seems ridiculous to me.
@@ThePatriots010304 fully agree. I guess I just have more faith in Van Pelt coordinating a modest, middle of the pack offense with better scheming, personnel deployment, and ball control than what we saw last year. Also our scoring defense was relatively down last year, which would also provide a boost (really hoping Gonzo gets a healthy year 2 under his belt and privately wishing we’d sign Gilmore to help mentor him and provide boundary corner depth).
As a european fan this schedule is amazing. I get to watch most Patriots gams live in the evening and its against real football teams 😄

2 wins

3 wins.
We lost 7 games by 3 or less on dumbass mac jones plays. Subtract that, We're good. 7-11.
Yeah I say 5 wins is generous. I see 2-4 wins and a top pick again.
Lol, 5-7 wins with essentially the same roster and a tougher schedule. 3-14 this year.
BREAKS DOWN
Course the Pats could be in last place again. Forget about primitive coverage. They are building. No playoffs..
Negativity is the standard…

They should have fired Fred and kept rich
