- This is a special one for me. Isaac is the type of friend who speaks the least but has the biggest presence in people's lives. People like them act as mute spectators, they speak less and usually are living in their own bubbles. But that doesn't mean they are completely shut off to the outside world. They usually keep it to themselves, doing whatever they love to do. Isaac, the bookworm reminds me of someone I know in real life. The first thing I told them after watching the series was the same - Isaac reminds me of you. No1 similarity is how both of them devour the books, literally. Their reading speed amazes me!! There seems to be a little bit of confusion regarding Isaac and his orientation. Well here is my explanation to avoid further confusion. Alice Oseman had mentioned in Twitter it was intended that Isaac is aroace. I felt like he is too. And we can't all perceive the same stuff as being aroace. So you are free to perceive in your way 😊 the edit is just in my pov of Isaac being aroace. Aled is their fourth friend in the comics whereas Isaac is their fourth friend in the show. Isaac is totally new. Isaac =/= Aled

As an aroace, I feel like if it was explicitly stated that he’s aroace the representation would feel a lot more comforting. It feels like I’m just filling in the gaps by calling him aroace because Isaac barely got any screen time so his character wasn’t really explored as much as the other characters. It would be nice to see more of his character explored if they make a second season.
Isaac is underrated honestly. He’s so happy with himself and just noticing him always reading a book whilst everyone is having a crisis about if their crush likes them back or whatever 🤟😩just gives me life lmao
He's the smartest one of them all. You never have that kind of crisis with books.

Yes, it's a very very minority but that's me, I'm aromantic and it took a while to realise cuz I love romance in fiction, it's just irl I cannot be bothered, I'll watch it from afar, and I'll enjoy it in stories, but don't get me involved I'll feel sick

@@aiyanamccoy no definitely not! I have the same! I love the handholding and the hugging and the cuddling and even some kissing, but as soon as it goes further than that it absolutely freaks me out! (it might partially be due to trauma from a previous relationship, but my current partner is incredibly caring and I still *cannot* be bothered about sex haha)
Anyways, I identify as panromantic demisexual, so you could definitely take a look at the asexual umbrella & keep in mind that romantic and sexual attraction are two very different things :)

Obviously that is not just such an Isaac move, it's also a huge Aled mood and yes, I know they are different characters but they play the same role which contributes to some similarities

I love that even though he's aroace, he loves romance. Too many times have I seen aroace characters (as well as just aro or just ace characters) depicted as either confused by romance or totally turned off to it. Isaac enjoying romance and being happy for his friends forming relationships is so nice to see.

I never came up with the idea to just read a book in school to avoid those annoying relationship things. Should've done that like Isaac did, this is truly iconic.
