Hey Chris. I'm coming back here to convey my profuse gratitude for you. S-7, R-7, L-8, W-7. Overall: 7.5 . I started preparing for my exams just 10days prior to the actual exam (which I don't recommend anyone doing). For the first 2 3 days I was a lot overwhelmed and confused with the online content that many RUclipsrs were making. They made the exam seem very complex. I was relieved when I finally found your channel 7days prior to the exam. You were right when you said IETLS is a simple test over complicated by students. Speaking: Firstly, I watched just one video of your about speaking section and that's all. I didn't prepare anything else. You suggested us to be simple and not try to exaggerate and impress the examiner with complex pharses and words that we don't know. It hit me. Many RUclipsrs always end up giving wrong suggestions that one must be formal and not use slang which you proved to be absolutely wrong. You gave the proof for everything you said. So watching that video and few part2 question practice was all that I prepared for speaking. Listening and Reading: I took you suggestion of not going for fake practice tests. So I immediately got 7 practice sets for reading and listening each. I watched your videos. Learned the strategy and applied it in my mock tests. Reflected on each mock test for a substantial amount of time to know what went wrong and how I should avoid it next. Writing: I watched your videos and practiced 3 to 4 questions in part1 and 3 questions in part2. I felt that my preparation wasn't enough but still I scored well in the actual exam. I would suggest only your channel to all my mates. You are just amazing. Keep going.

This was so helpful to me! I’ve got band 9 on general ielts in my first try. I was aiming for band 6.5. I’m from Brazil and I took my first ielts test yesterday in Australia. I followed the tips in this video and got 40/40 correct in the reading test. When I was practicing I always missed over 5 questions, but I think because I trained a lot using the same technique with different questions from the official websites, I could understand the logic of it and could ace the test! I’m so happy! I still need to improve my time for doing this, because it took me almost exactly 1h to finish it, but I just wanted to thank you for all the content you post here. I got an 8 when it should've been 9 ( because when doing tests at home under exam conditions, I always got 39- 40 out of 40). On the exam day, I got all worked up and started overcomplicating things. As I received my scores, I was really frustrated with the Reading score. On the bright side, it didn't affect the overall band score I was aiming for😃.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to IELTS Advantage for their insightful and knowledgeable videos. I successfully scored a 7 in reading on my second attempt, as opposed to a 5.5 on my first attempt and an overall band of 7. I had seen many of Chris's videos, and I found them to be quite beneficial. This is the greatest RUclips channel available, hands down. Additionally, I'd want to provide a tip or strategy for reading i.e. to read passage 3 first, as the mind is clear and concentration is strongest. Also, taking computer-based IELTS is less tiring, the results come within a week's time and one can also retake an individual module again without the need to prepare for the whole exam again. This was so helpful to me! I’ve got band 9 on general ielts in my first try. I was aiming for band 6.5. I’m from Brazil and I took my first ielts test yesterday in Australia. I followed the tips in this video and got 40/40 correct in the reading test. When I was practicing I always missed over 5 questions, but I think because I trained a lot using the same technique with different questions from the official websites, I could understand the logic of it and could ace the test! I’m so happy! I still need to improve my time for doing this, because it took me almost exactly 1h to finish it, but I just wanted to thank you for all the content you post here. It really helps people! 🙏🏻

I got an 8 when it should've been 9 ( because when doing tests at home under exam conditions, I always got 39- 40 out of 40). On the exam day, I got all worked up and started overcomplicating things. As I received my scores, I was really frustrated with the Reading score.
On the bright side, it didn't affect the overall band score I was aiming for😃.

Hi ! I’m 17 years old girl from Thailand. Three months ago , I took IELTS mock exam and I got overall only 5. I was considerably hopeless at IELTS. I wanted to achieve band 6.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to IELTS Advantage for their insightful and knowledgeable videos. I successfully scored a 7 in reading on my second attempt, as opposed to a 5.5 on my first attempt and an overall band of 7. I had seen many of Chris's videos, and I found them to be quite beneficial. This is the greatest RUclips channel available, hands down. Additionally, I'd want to provide a tip or strategy for reading i.e. to read passage 3 first, as the mind is clear and concentration is strongest. Also, taking computer-based IELTS is less tiring, the results come within a week's time and one can also retake an individual module again without the need to prepare for the whole exam again. Thank you once again, Chris.

I took the IELTS exam on August 26th, and due to time constraints, I only had about three days to prepare for it (which I do not recommend, but sometimes it's necessary). I watched your videos, combined with my previous knowledge of English, and managed to achieve an overall band score of 8.0: 8.5 in listening, 8.5 in reading, 7.0 in writing, and 7.5 in speaking. Can the answer for the 19th question be climate change? The paragraph mentions that coral bleaching is caused by increases in ocean temperature. Doesn't this make it correct to say that climate change is a problem affecting coral reefs in Hawaii? What approach should be used to rule out this option?
