- Meet Our Student: Doloreste S. Jean Baptiste. In 2010, Doloreste's world came crashing down when an earthquake hit Haiti and almost ruined her life. Between bad luck and lack of funds, Doloreste shares how she felt hopeless about continuing her education until she won a scholarship at UoPeople.

Doloreste was able to apply for asylum in the United States. When she arrived, she did not have the proper legal status to enroll in school. From lack of funds to feeling hopeless, Doloreste then found University of the People. With a scholarship, Doloreste was able to earn an Associate's Degree and continue on for her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Now that she has a degree and a job that supports her and her family back home, she feels she is finally able to rise up to her potential.

I did not stop the journey. I stayed strong and learned more about the power of education in our dynamic society. I am about 3 months away from earning my MBA at Uopeople. A word to you all:" Search your intrinsic motivation, harness your strength and foster your strong will." Hi Ibrahim, we are tuition-free, not free. As the world’s first non-profit, tuition-free university, we ask for minimal processing fees to help keep our university sustainable. Hi Moaead, please note that University of the People is an accredited American online university which conducts all studies and correspondence online-only and students are meant to undertake their studies from their home countries or current country of residence. As such, having a reliable, easily accessible internet connection is a must for UoPeople students.
Since we teach all courses online, we do not have housing facilities or physical campus. We also do not provide assistance with visa services because our applicants/students do not need to travel to study with us.
