Note for the Binx; It's a great disc to practice grenades with cause it won't rip on your thumb or finger! (Whichever grip you use) it just won't necessarily fly like a normal grenade since it's understable *Edit, it flies understable with any wobble produced from off axis torque
I love them! With the silicone nature they are more understable with off axis torque. But I love these and am excited for their two new discs. Arowana (straight putter) and gecko (overstable fairway)
The flip side of that is if you so much as tickle a branch, that disc is also going straight down. So if you can see your line and are going to miss trees, that's great. If you're stuck in the woods and trying to throw out, you've just added a bunch of new tiny defenders that are going to block you. It's a two-edged (floppy) sword.
I just want to quickly show you some support, I started watching your content a few days ago and I am loving it! Keep it up. I am taking a lot of notes on improving my disc golf game from watching ur videos!
I've owned all three, and the same rubbery quality that absorbs impact upon landing also can eat your throw power. I do use my Koi as essentially a catch disc on longer putts/short throws, though. It lets me try to run stuff that could normally give killer comebackers. They aren't like normal discs at all, but if you get them dialed, they're very special.
The floppy discs are great for when there is a risk of your disc rolling. Sides of hills, hardpack ground, etc. The floppies just drop to the ground and stay there.
I've got the silicone Alpas from divergent. I hate everything about how it throws but if I absolutely need a disc to have no ground play on an upshot, that's what I use.
The Elevation discs are made from different materials than the Divergent. I like Elevation better. The OG Koi is a highly used approach , and my only putter.
So, i found a Gollem Putter on a ground score at my home course here in Austin. When putting, you should try whipping it in. It's actually a really fun disc that you can slam into the chains and it just drops. Most of these just drop so they're good for approaches where you need it to just sit and lay it up. Their glide is garbage. BUT the rollers are kinda interesting. You'll find these "floppy" discs will bounce like a rubber ball when you roll em out of your hand. That gives them an interesting trick shot where you can hop gaps where you have a low ceiling. I hope that makes sense...it did in my head. But i also find these will break in cold weather easily too.
Those look just like the Alpas from Divergent discs. You described it well comparing it to an eraser. All that sand and dirt sticking to it feels so wrong but I think if you get used to the floppyness and the strange grip they could probably be great on a windless day.
I've only thrown the interceptor but every time I would rip on it the front end would bend down on release and go straight to the ground. I started using my left hand to hold the back end of it to keep it straight and that seemed to work better. Definitely not proper form but was funny that it worked.
The floppy molds work best for shorter discs and really overstable designs. They definitely need that extra beefiness to compensate for the extra understability that comes from deformation. I really enjoy throwing the Binx, but you need a super smooth shot and a very clean, gentle release.
Disc golf has a way of really making you aware of that Sensory Processing Disorder lol. I get the same thing with microfiber towels as you had with those discs. Just get totally yucked out by the feel of them.
The binx just loves to go with a smooth release on anny. They definitley arent main discs. But anything with a major hills I love throwing them on. Especially if you have a death putt on a hill, you can just run it and if it hits the basket it just drops and stays
Dude I have 2 of the koi putters and they are so sick for home made baskets, we have an 18 hole near me that’s all home made baskets with bike wheels and stuff so the hard plastic just bounces out a lot 😂
Are these soft enough that I could just huck them at my apartment wall to practice throwing without leaving marks? Could definitely be fun here in the Canadian winter to practice inside!
If the wall is hard enough I say yes, BUT anything like sand or such and actual disc material might leave discoloration that are a very diffcult to remove or might damage the wall.
You can really dig in the grip in these soft plastics, my Supersoft Classic Marshall is really fun, not close to these. I do think that "beating" these discs in is not a thing really, over time the gummy might get a bit stiffer even. So off the shelf another one in the same color (Color additive/plastic affects floppiness the most?) should fly the same. Looks nice, very grippy, very nische. Gonna throw my Marshall soon again, great for 0 skip, goes quite far.
i got an interceptor as a mystery dis from infinite, hate how they feel in the hand. too floppy for me, i do bag the frag for utility shots, but the C4 plastic isnt as floppy
I’ve had an UnLace for over a decade. It’s my fav. They also have limited runs of the Lace and another disc but at $40, probably not selling a lot of them.
Beefy = overstable Flippy = understable ????? = straight Idk the right word but that’s how you should describe the Binx. I have one and I would put it in the straight category not the flippy one
This video should be sponsored by 1,000mg of caffeine. Dude is full send on talking and energy.
They are sensitive to bad throws/off axis torque. Clean releases are a must with those discs

I feel like these would be awesome for tightly wooded shots. Hits a tree and just sits at the base instead of flying 50 feet left or right lol
The flip side of that is if you so much as tickle a branch, that disc is also going straight down. So if you can see your line and are going to miss trees, that's great. OMG 2:30 was a laugh-out-loud for me. Good to see you are human.
I absolutely want to do this next year at a local disc golf tournament (it's more a party than a tournament). Great vid.
Limona Park is a gem of Florida disc golf. Where my fellow Billy Goats at?!

the interceptor I had good luck with, but eventually replaced. Never got the binx to fly well consistently.
Those look just like the Alpas from Divergent discs. You described it well comparing it to an eraser. All that sand and dirt sticking to it feels so wrong but I think if you get used to the floppyness and the strange grip they could probably be great on a windless day.
I have both the Alpas as the Koi. I find the Koi to be a tad softer/floppier
BRO THIS WAS MY REQUEST

Awesomely timely. I am shopping for a KOI and this is one step closer to feeling it in my hand.
The floppy molds work best for shorter discs and really overstable designs. They definitely need that extra beefiness to compensate for the extra understability that comes from deformation. I really enjoy throwing the Binx, but you need a super smooth shot and a very clean, gentle release.
that's one of my home courses! if you're staying in the area you should definitely check out Holloway in Winter Haven
Disc golf has a way of really making you aware of that Sensory Processing Disorder lol. I get the same thing with microfiber towels as you had with those discs. Just get totally yucked out by the feel of them.
The course looks beautiful. I thought Florida was flat, but the courses there seem to have just enough terrain for great disc golf.
What a coincidence, i have a Binx, Interceptor and Koi in my mailbox today. Can’t wait to see how these react to woods golf.
I wonder how they’d feel/throw in the snow and cold.
I use mine for upshots to rollaway greens…works great!
The binx just loves to go with a smooth release on anny. They definitley arent main discs. But anything with a major hills I love throwing them on. Especially if you have a death putt on a hill, you can just run it and if it hits the basket it just drops and stays

You should try forehanding the binx more. Actuality great hyzer flip for those scary dear shots
I play with all of the elevation discs and love them!
Are these soft enough that I could just huck them at my apartment wall to practice throwing without leaving marks? Could definitely be fun here in the Canadian winter to practice inside!

As someone who used to live in apartments, I would say please don't.
With walls as thick as ours theres no way anyone would be disturbed lol
Come to Ed Austin in Jacksonville!! Mcbeth just moved here!!
Koi is clutch for death putts, give it a run and fear not the roll away, love it!
You can really dig in the grip in these soft plastics, my Supersoft Classic Marshall is really fun, not close to these. Wonder how good these would be in cold weather since there so floppy

Much like the Berg, some people love the koi, some people hate the koi. In a hilly place like Pennsylvania, they're amazing for death putts.
Floppy discs are great for around cars or a house as well.
Limona! Bro you can show up to Limona and be the only person there, but when you're ready to throw, there's always someone on the 1st teepad lol.
You gotta try the new run of vibram discs! Elevation discs are great
Just to be clear, even though you referred to these discs as "plastic" I'm pretty sure they are rubber. Right? Fun video.
The koi is sick for aiming for trees and having them hit and drop right off
5:40 that's what he said
You should review the 10 Meter Brick for goofs and gaffs.
I’d like one of these for upshot’s on rocky courses
you need your tour series to be a 6 speed called Mid-Range ish
I feel like the only way to putt the floppy kois is to put maximum spin on them🤣
Nimbus is a nice approach
Can’t get the sand off the discs? They should make a small, rectangular piece of cloth for a job like that. :-)
Where was this video yesterday before I bought a koi lol
Koi is super fun to play catch with
Joey Temali is the Koi Master
honestly such good approach disc. Took a stroke or two off my score the soft landings.
Gateway has eraser and sss suuuper soft discs. Vibram used to make rubber discs but they didn't last and are out of the disc golf game so idk.
I’ve had an UnLace for over a decade. It’s my fav. They also have limited runs of the Lace and another disc but at $40, probably not selling a lot of them.
First view! Love the content excited to see you play this year!
I will buy you a towel bro. Essential for disc golf btw...
"sand sticks to these discs and I don't like the feel" ***tosses stack of discs into sand**** lol
multiple times too lol
I feel like I’m tripping watching those discs flop about.
thanks for changing lol
They don’t like off-axis torque
I've had two of these and both broke on day one.
You should start challenging your subscribers... May humble yourself
Beefy = overstable
Flippy = understable
????? = straight
Idk the right word but that’s how you should describe the Binx. I have one and I would put it in the straight category not the flippy one
Neutral
Foot Fault!!!! Jk love the vids as always!
Stop reviewing discs without a little bit of fieldwork with them first!... Would be nice to see their potential not how easy it is to fail with them
I throw my Koi ALL the time 😈
And also stop throwing discs you claim to be flippy low and flat
