I tried the bright chrome BMF and I didn't care for it myself. Thanks for the tips on this kit I tried to build this model a couple decades ago. LOL If I remember correctly, I never finished it and then took what was left to a swap meet. I picked up another one recently and plan to try it again. your advice should help out a lot. Thank you!

NICE JOB BROTHER, Lots of good stuff, I'VE got a love Hate relationship with AMT because of the things that you have been pointing out.. But I can remember when REVELL was making crap kits also.. They all have stepped up their game except for the ROUND 2 repops that still sucks, but we have the knowledge and equipment to fix things now....😎👍
Must have built five of these over the years and every one put up a fight. As well as what you’ve mentioned you have to put a sliver of plastic along each side of the hood to avoid having a big gap all around it. I really like that blue paint you used and it looks flawless - presume it’s airbrushed on. What type of paint did you use?
Thank you 😊 The paint on this one is auto air with a cheap 2k clear over it. And yes I applied it all with an air brush. Take care and happy modeling. Don 😎
I have the belair version and this kit sucks. Fitment issues all over the place. Plus they didnt even include the instructions for the street rod gasser parts. I had to look up this kit's instructions to even build it out. Just a turd kit.
Really, why would leave a comment like this on MY video?? If you don't like the kit make your OWN video about your dislike of the kit. Have a good day sir 🤨
Thanks for the issues on the nomad. I plan to build mine soon. Some a.m.t kits have tooling issues ,but it's a great hobby .
I have this kit in my stash to be built soon. So, I am paying attention to any problems, solutions and tips you have. 😎👍
Have fun!
Im building a custom 55 Nomad myself. Thanks for your help. I also have one that I saved from the trash bin .
This was worth a second watch. So many good tips, glad the catalog is up for reference.

Thanks for the tips Don, love these Nomad kits. I just finished one and have two more in paint.
Right on!
Don, I feel you on those radiator hoses .. I forget them also.. I love both builds.. The primered one would be a great 2 Lane Blacktop recreation

My problem with the wire axles is they are often too long. On three different kits I have had to shorten them a bit, maybe 1/8 inch.
Great tips. Thanks for sharing.
