Watching this with this monitor. Have it for 2 years now, and its great! Do watch out if the weather is very hot and the room is hot! It did shut down on me due to overheat and I had to get that fixed.
JFYI, The Display Port is V1.2 and the HDMI is V2.0 Remember to connect your thunderbolt cable in the port with the laptop sign (Higher W) for Macbooks. Thats why many people are facing the issues in connectivity.
Great video guys, 1 question, at 14:27 you notice that even though the laptop is connected with the Thunderbolt lead it is not charging until you turn the display on? So when the display gets turned off does the laptop eventually run flat?
hi bro, since its basically a va panel, did you get to see a white haze or a bit faded colors that we generally see in VA panels?? Compared to IPS pnaels - they are don't have that faded look. plz tell.
Hey there Jayesh. So far we haven't noticed anything of that. I must say that we don't use it that often sadly. The MacBook just seems a more efficient for our kind of work but yeah no
Hi, thanks for a great review! Have you checked if it is possible to connect two computers to Thunderbolt ports (for instance one Macbook Pro and one Mac Mini) and switch between them (video and usb hub) from monitor menu? Kinda KVM :-) I was checking that in Samsung's manual for this monitor but it was unclear on that matter...
It has 2 thunderbolts 3 ports yes. So you can connect max 2 Apple computers and yes that means you can switch between them too. Thank you so much for watching.
These displays appear to have an inherent fault that develops over time. For me it manifests itself with a bunch of lines along the bottom 1/3 of screen upon wake up. Once the screen warms up the lines start to disappear, it could be due to a failing capacitor or dry joint solder, either way it's a defect. I fear it is only a matter of time before it gives up the ghost completely.
We have no useful comment to this as we are not using it that often really. so I guess people will have to give value to the reviews of people that have been using it daily and have previous experiences. thank you for sharing this. it might help people
I must say, it proved to be a little too wide for our tiny Amsterdam apartment. we havent been using it that much lately. but good luck with it and enjoy.
@@DisDutch you’re right! Haha I bought a different curved monitor and the image was way below my expectations so I returned it. I ordered the Samsung knowing it might not be imac quality but hoping at least decent enough.
I feel you buddy. The thing is, it's all so expensive. We want big screen, we want better quality. That's the problem. So we end up getting an Apple MacBook for daily use. And bigger screen with less quality for those times you need space on your screen
What Macbook was used with this? and have you run into any issues with connectivity or charging. I've been reading into USB-C hubs bricking the new MacBook m1's via power charge through and wondering if a monitor charging through is safe.
We used MacBook Pro 15 inch we bought back in late 2017. We have not had any issues at all thank god. So we use the monitor cable only and hook the MacBook on the monitor and that's how it gets power and all works great!
I agree -- they are more like 800 dollars now so its something some people can justify spending vs what they ran before especially if you work from home for hours and hours. But its WALL-E and looks amazing! Maybe I get Dan one if he winds up working from home for longer again. So far he is back in the office. Gotta love The Meg too hehehe
it does manke everything easier on the eyes. so if Dan or you ever end up working more hours at home. this can def be worth the investment. especially if your work does pay for it.
Haha to be honest we really didn’t have space for it. And then we also changed kitchen tables. And the new table really has not space. So it was a little bit of a stupid mistake to get it in the first place. Too big for our tiny Amsterdam city centre home
Hi. I'm trying to take the monitor with me on the plane and airlines have specific requirements when it comes to size. What are the dimensions of the box containing the monitor?

thank you for adding your tip. thank you
THIS is what I wanted to see!
Not a BS review that talks a lot but does not show any PRACTICAL use.
Thank you!
Thank you so much!

Thank you for watching friend. Yes with the right cable . and if you keep it connected the laptop will always be charging

just picked this up on clearance for £200

how's the video quality in person? comparable to apple macs?
nothing compares to Apple Macs hehe seriously

Seeing a 16:9 format movie on this screen (thinking of editing), wont that make two rather annoying black bars next to it?
One can get used to so much haha

9:05 SS for SuperSpeed aka USB3 and of plug Type-A.
HDMI is actually primarily a TV standard, the DP(display port) next to it is more so the Desktop & gaming standard.
Thank you!!!
Are you still using this monitor? If so, what’s the Adobe RGB accuracy?
So sorry Steve. It ended up in the attic sometime ago
Oh ok. Guess it wasn’t as good as though. Lol. Thanks for the update.

Hi. I'm trying to take the monitor with me on the plane and airlines have specific requirements when it comes to size. What are the dimensions of the box containing the monitor?
Length 90cm, width 60cm and depth 38cm
Thank you for helping out here. Alas we forgot to measure and mention the box measurements. We didn't keep the box
You're brave.
Did the USB-C Thunderbolt cable come with the monitor?
Yeah all there included
Can you mount it against a wall?
Yes absolutely. Mounting pieces included
It had very poor pixel dilation, it struggles to draw large diagonal characters like W. Had to return
so sorry James. we had and still have no problem. maybe bad luck with yours. sorry
