Acid etching is a dental procedure that can help with the placement of composite restorative material or any other resin Restoration. Because deciduous teeth has more organic structure than inorganic. Organic structures are require more time.

Would the acid(etch) affect adversely in deep cavities???

Yes. There is a famous question where it says in very deep cavities ine should apply calcium hydroxide and then etch for composite and for amalgam, proper base before it. Deep cavities also require different Bonding techniques which I have explained in my binding agent videos. Do check it here in this playlist

Its only applied in deepest portion where the dentin is too thin. Rest all area is available for bonding agent
